Beautiful place, very comfortable and lovely rooms. Didn’t receive check in email till day after we checked in, so didn’t have door code to get into property, but was quickly resolved by the ring doorbell. Breakfast was the only disappointment, would have thought such a small property (5 rooms) would cook fresh, but was just left in a hot plate, scrambled eggs were hard and no other egg option when we asked for poached, bacon dry tomatoes were nice.

Great place to stay free parking nearby and a short walk into town. Good places to eat nearby and generally lovely and quiet. Room is clean and comfortable and the breakfast was brilliant, we would definitely stay there again

The property is a self check in property. Unfortunately, we did not realise that details of check-in were sent via email the day before which went straight into my junk box. We arrived around 2 hours early in the hope we could drop our bags off especially because it was the day of our daughter's wedding and were rudely told via the ring bell that all check-in details are on the email. There is no O2 coverage in most of Ely so I could not access these details. When I asked about parking, I was told this was also on the email. For over £175, this is not service I would expect. Check-in is too late and inflexible and check-out is 10am. We had to carry our cases through Ely town late at night. Just what you need after a long day. On top of that, what you would expect is a nice quiet night is instead geese honking in the night, trains going by and bottles being emptied out by the neighbouring restaurant in the early hours. Definitely not worth the money.

Good facilities in the room, although the decor was a bit overpriced! The breakfast was slightly disappointing in that there was no granola or muesli, some of the fruit offered was tinned, and the bread was rather ordinary. But nice to feel as if we were all in our own home, with a front door straight onto the river

Small quiet hotel . The pubs and restaurants,city-within easy walk. Free parking but busy so don’t bank on getting a space close to the hotel. Breakfast is included and self service but limited choice if you like a full English.

Calls itself an inn, so a olde pub with rooms and a cosy bar was anticipated. The closed front door, opened by means of a phone call, and the discovery that one was staying in an apartment block, was therefore disappointing. However all was clean and comfortable and well appointed, so full marks in all other respects.

The only issue i had was the parking! We arrived at check-in and there was no parking and the public parking was for limited time only. I feel the description stating free parking is misleading. It's free if you can find it. Otherwise the location and room were very nice.

Fantastic stay. Room beautifully appointed. Bed comfy. Bathroom really lovely. The room was very clean, good size bathroom with underfloor heating, bed and pillows were very comfortable. For me the duvet could have been thicker as I turn the heating off overnight but that’s personal preference. Overall a really good stay and will come back soon.

Really enjoyed our stay at Riverside Inn. Had a lovely downstairs room beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Super view over the river and boats. Breakfast was great too and no problems when asking for gluten free bread. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was immaculate and spotlessly clean. The river view was beautiful. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of selection. Would definitely stay again even though train noise was quite disurbing at times

A lovely location! Was in small single room, perfectly fine. Comfortable bed, clean nice decor, good air conditioning, vital given current hot weather!.The well presented reasonable size bathroom for sole use was separate and was a few steps across a small landing, it had a bath/shower. Breakfast OK, choice of cereals, orange juice, pastries plus some fruit and also small buffet style hot choice of scrambled egg, bacon, sausage & tomatoes.

The hotel and the location next to the river is beautiful! Overall, very good. Our room was very warm. After we adjusted it as best we could it was still uncomfortably warm. The bed was described as a King, but I would describe it as a queen size. In other words too small for my husband and I. Everything else was very good. Breakfast was lovely.

I don’t mind self check-in at all and this one worked well. The room was lovely though with no view at all I would class it as overpriced. Breakfast didn’t make up for that whatsoever. The cooked breakfast was cold on both mornings we stayed and the bread was dry so my sausage sandwich was far from enjoyable. Little touches could be improved on eg more than one toilet roll for a couple staying for 2 nights. When paying as much as we did for the stay I don’t think rationing the sheets per toilet visit is very fair. Also, if I had realised that there was a need to grab a croissant at breakfast before the other guests took one, rather like having to be up early for a sunbed abroad, I would have got in there! Sadly, every opening and closing of door below goes through you as you try to sleep and you can pretty much hear every word being spoken in the room below All in all I would say the stay was an expensive lesson in not selecting to stay here. The location is lovely right on the river. But not being able to see it and being disappointed by the breakfast mean it could have been anywhere and certainly not worth paying for the privilege

This is a delightful little gem in a beautiful setting. We were attending a concert so needed to arrive early and wouldn’t be back to the room until very late. Not a problem staff were very accommodating.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was immaculate and spotlessly clean. The river view was beautiful. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of selection. Would definitely stay again even though train noise was quite disurbing at times

A lovely location! Was in small single room, perfectly fine. Comfortable bed, clean nice decor, good air conditioning, vital given current hot weather!.The well presented reasonable size bathroom for sole use was separate and was a few steps across a small landing, it had a bath/shower. Breakfast OK, choice of cereals, orange juice, pastries plus some fruit and also small buffet style hot choice of scrambled egg, bacon, sausage & tomatoes.

Beautiful place, very comfortable and lovely rooms. Didn’t receive check in email till day after we checked in, so didn’t have door code to get into property, but was quickly resolved by the ring doorbell. Breakfast was the only disappointment, would have thought such a small property (5 rooms) would cook fresh, but was just left in a hot plate, scrambled eggs were hard and no other egg option when we asked for poached, bacon dry tomatoes were nice.

I don’t mind self check-in at all and this one worked well. The room was lovely though with no view at all I would class it as overpriced. Breakfast didn’t make up for that whatsoever. The cooked breakfast was cold on both mornings we stayed and the bread was dry so my sausage sandwich was far from enjoyable. Little touches could be improved on eg more than one toilet roll for a couple staying for 2 nights. When paying as much as we did for the stay I don’t think rationing the sheets per toilet visit is very fair. Also, if I had realised that there was a need to grab a croissant at breakfast before the other guests took one, rather like having to be up early for a sunbed abroad, I would have got in there! Sadly, every opening and closing of door below goes through you as you try to sleep and you can pretty much hear every word being spoken in the room below All in all I would say the stay was an expensive lesson in not selecting to stay here. The location is lovely right on the river. But not being able to see it and being disappointed by the breakfast mean it could have been anywhere and certainly not worth paying for the privilege

Really enjoyed our stay at Riverside Inn. Had a lovely downstairs room beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Super view over the river and boats. Breakfast was great too and no problems when asking for gluten free bread. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Good facilities in the room, although the decor was a bit overpriced! The breakfast was slightly disappointing in that there was no granola or muesli, some of the fruit offered was tinned, and the bread was rather ordinary. But nice to feel as if we were all in our own home, with a front door straight onto the river

Fantastic stay. Room beautifully appointed. Bed comfy. Bathroom really lovely. I have stayed before, both times in room 4. It's perfect for a solo traveler like myself. The quirk of this room is that it has a private bath, but it's across they hall, and keyed as the room is. I don't mind--I like quirks. Some might. The breakfast is lovely. Buffet style, though the server brings along tea or coffee, whatever you wish. It's also in a lovely location, right along the river. A view of the narrowboats. :D New since my last stay: AC!

Excellent location right on the river side with plenty of eateries nearby. Room had a musty smell upon arrival but this soon went after being aired. Nice bed bathroom etc and excellent breakfast. What was challenging and confusing was the parking situation. Accommodation offered parking but where exactly was it?l drove around the back and there was a sign about one area being private boatyard parking. I spoke to one lady sitting by the garage who told me I was ok to park in the bigger yard area. However in the morning there was a note on my car saying I had parked in the boatyard area. There is no one to ask in the hotel when you check in nor adequate signage to to direct guests to the correct parking space.

Comfortable room, bed, pillows, heating. Excellent breakfast for such a comparatively small number of rooms. Not made sufficiently clear that there is no en suite on the single room, but in fact the single use bathroom opposite is probably larger than you would get as an ensuite. The lack of reception staff is disconcerting, but the key codes work.
