Great stay, beautiful views from our room right on the lake! The room was super clean, had a wood burning fireplace with wood already stacked ready to go! Free use of snow shoes was a plus as we went hiking both days, and my daughter loved the complementary hot chocolate at guest services. Only suggestion would be our superior suite which had two separate rooms, only had one tv in the main bedroom. It would have been nice to have another tv in the other room as well, but we made due! Overall great location, property and views!

Right on Lake Superior. Can walk 20 steps out the patio, and are on the shore of Lake Superior. Great sunrise and sunset! Excellent lake air. Cozy and comfy one bedroom with all the amenities including a big soaking jet tub, fire place, rotating rocking chairs, windows with shades facing the lake. Everything was perfect!

Ribeye steaks (2 stars) were ok in person at the Bluefin Grille, pickup a local cut of steak and grill it yourself on the grills at the property! Everything else about the property was great. Quiet. Peaceful. The linens were excellent quality! We had lots of towels, and cosmetic towels🙌. They space was private and perfect for the four of us. Beautiful sunrise! We had 4 porches/decks with chairs to relax in. Space for computer work, space to rest, cook, stretch out, dine, breakfast seating too, easy, quiet. Plenty of parking, and the grounds were nice. We had everything we would need to cook if had chosen to. *next trip, we will stay longer, cook in and enjoy the decks more!

I think that if you stay in the middle location, it is probably best. We were at the “first” resort area which is really far from the outdoor pool, grille, and cafe. It is inconvenient getting in and out of the car for these options… I don’t understand why there isn’t a walk path between all three areas. If I had known, I would have said something. The activities are a perk, but make sure you enroll way ahead of time as they fill up. The cafe by the grille was delicious and the staff were great. The room itself was nice and spacious, although entering the bottom loft, from the entrance all the way down the staircase to the loft entrance, stinks! Not sure what the smell is but it is not pleasant.

SURFSIDE was a fabulous place to bring my family! The amenities are wonderful! Coffee , fire pit and s’mores, great pool and huge hot tub. We’re going back next year!

I think that if you stay in the middle location, it is probably best. We were at the “first” resort area which is really far from the outdoor pool, grille, and cafe. Was shown images of large spacious room with tall windows over looking the lake. Was actually given a basement suite with barely any natural light,. This property is not as advertised. This was for a birthday trip and was promised having champagne delivered to my room and that also never showed. Will stay at other properties, save money, and have a better experience.

If you stay at surf side and show up for check in after 6:00 p.m. there is no directions stating that you need to drive to a different location to check in. Also no one answered the phone on the add so thankfully we found a person who guided us on where to go. Had it been later and no guests where around we wouldn’t have know what to do.

I absolutely loved this resort and I cannot wait to visit again. I wasn't able to make it there my first booked night due to weather and they were kind enough to not charge me for that night. The room had tons of natural light and gorgeous views of Lake Superior. The lady that was working at the Guest Services desk was very kind and gave good tips on the sights to see in the area. The location was great - lots of good hiking trails and waterfalls nearby. The food and service at the Bluefin Grille were also excellent. This place is a nice slice of paradise on the North Shore!

We had the pleasure of working with Emily, the front desk/reservation department. She was so hospitable and supportive. We got a room thinking our view out towards the lake was gonna be perfect but unfortunately a tree fell and blocked our view. I left a message to reservation and Emily left a voicemail and got us a new room with perfect view of the lake. Communicative, responsive, and professional. We couldn’t thank her enough. I would like to thank the housekeeping staff also, for helping get our room cleaned and ready on time!

I was frustrated that I booked on Expedia with my American Express card which I use for all my travel needs and they called me back 3 times telling me that I had to pay with a Visa. I took the time to call the back and give them what they requested but I question why a hostility spot in the USA would not take beloved American Express?
