Excellent hotel, loved it The rooms are so nice, good toiletries and even a little fridge and the breakfast was absolutely amazing with such good quality produce The bar area with the fire is so cosy and a good choice of drinks The only slight criticism is you could hear people easily in other rooms and the corridor

On arrival service was spot on, the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The only slight negative was the amount of time needed for hot water to reach the shower. My evening meal was good quality and reasonably priced, beer was good and the breakfast was also good quality and well cooked. I would definitely stay here next time I’m in the area.

Very enjoyable stay, and would return. Good food options. Our stay coincided with an England football game that was very noisy in the adjacent conservatory. Though, I appreciate this not a common occurrence.

Fabulous stay at The White Swan Inn for two nights. Lovely area and only 30 minutes from Whitby along the most amazing road. Hotel was everything we had hoped for, friendly, cozy, great restaurant, bar and atmosphere. Lovely fires welcomed you back after a chilly day. Room was comfortable, clean and lots of tea and coffee and water available. Breakfast was amazing too. Lovely team

A lovely place to stay in the middle of Pickering, and very handy for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Excellent food and friendly service. If you are less able then we would suggest checking with the hotel beforehand as there are stairs in the main building, and our bath was not easy to get into or out of. Otherwise excellent and will stay again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very much an old coaching Inn, with modernised facilities, Great Atmosphere, right in the centre of Pickering. A short walk to the North Yorkshire Steam Railway. Very Good quality hearty meals, and a comfortable ensuite room.

On arrival service was spot on, the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The only slight negative was the amount of time needed for hot water to reach the shower. My evening meal was good quality and reasonably priced, beer was good and the breakfast was also good quality and well cooked. I would definitely stay here next time I’m in the area.

We only stayed for 2nights on our way back from Scotland but wished we could have stayed longer. All the staff were very attentive and friendly especially Millie, she was great and managed so well under pressure when a member of staff called in sick at short notice. Our room was spotless as was the bathroom and the bed very big and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were delighted with the choice and standard of the food. We would not hesitate to recommend The White Swan and hope that we can visit again.
We only stayed for 2nights on our way back from Scotland but wished we could have stayed longer. All the staff were very attentive and friendly especially Millie, she was great and managed so well under pressure when a member of staff called in sick at short notice. Our room was spotless as was the bathroom and the bed very big and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were delighted with the choice and standard of the food. We would not hesitate to recommend The White Swan and hope that we can visit again.

First impressions were not great - room we were allocated - paying £160 for the night - was small and had a stale foisty smell. Carpets were badly stained and bathroom very dated. The bed creaked VERY loudly to a point where it woke us during the night. Had a very poor nights sleep and then woken by who I assume was the maintenance man sweeping and chatting directly below our open window at 7.30am the next morning….surely this could have been done once most of your guests were up?! This was swiftly followed by bottles being collected and then by cleaning staff stomping around and vacuuming the room above at around 8am… Arrived at breakfast tired and hungry. Ordered smashed avocado on toast. It had to be the worst breakfast I’ve ever been served. Partly cooked egg on one slice of toast. The avocado mostly consisted of spring onions(?!) which on top of the partly cooked egg was enough to turn my empty stomach. I ate some yoghurt and granola from the small buffet offering. Nobody came across to check if we were ok, if we needed more tea and coffee or offer us any more (burnt) toast All in all a very disappointing stay and sadly won’t be returning…

We had a lovely room with a separate living area . The staff were all so friendly and obliging and the hotel was close to the NorthYorkshire Moors Railway station at Pickering so walking there took 5 mins. Pickering itself is charming with a good selection of shops and bakeries so there is enough for all tastes. We would return again to the White Swan.

The place looks rather unappealing from the kerbside but oh my what a pleasant surprise inside. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a ‘hideaway’ room around the back and it was beautiful. Gorgeous furnishings and the bedding was luxurious. The food in the restaurant was delicious and I couldn’t fault anything about our stay. Thanks to the team at the White Swan.

Milli was so helpful when my wife was concerned about getting onto the 4 poster bed and Milli immediately offered us three rooms as a swap. Nothing was a problem. Everything from start to finish was perfect and we will stay again. Also the breakfast was amazing

First impressions were not great - room we were allocated - paying £160 for the night - was small and had a stale foisty smell. Carpets were badly stained and bathroom very dated. The bed creaked VERY loudly to a point where it woke us during the night. Had a very poor nights sleep and then woken by who I assume was the maintenance man sweeping and chatting directly below our open window at 7.30am the next morning….surely this could have been done once most of your guests were up?! This was swiftly followed by bottles being collected and then by cleaning staff stomping around and vacuuming the room above at around 8am… Arrived at breakfast tired and hungry. Ordered smashed avocado on toast. It had to be the worst breakfast I’ve ever been served. Partly cooked egg on one slice of toast. The avocado mostly consisted of spring onions(?!) which on top of the partly cooked egg was enough to turn my empty stomach. I ate some yoghurt and granola from the small buffet offering. Nobody came across to check if we were ok, if we needed more tea and coffee or offer us any more (burnt) toast All in all a very disappointing stay and sadly won’t be returning…

We had a lovely room with a separate living area . The staff were all so friendly and obliging and the hotel was close to the NorthYorkshire Moors Railway station at Pickering so walking there took 5 mins. Pickering itself is charming with a good selection of shops and bakeries so there is enough for all tastes. We would return again to the White Swan.

Hotel was everything we had hoped for, friendly, cozy, great restaurant, bar and atmosphere. Lovely fires welcomed you back after a chilly day. A lovely place to stay in the middle of Pickering, and very handy for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Excellent food and friendly service. If you are less able then we would suggest checking with the hotel beforehand as there are stairs in the main building, and our bath was not easy to get into or out of. Otherwise excellent and will stay again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very much an old coaching Inn, with modernised facilities, Great Atmosphere, right in the centre of Pickering. A short walk to the North Yorkshire Steam Railway. Very Good quality hearty meals, and a comfortable ensuite room.

On arrival service was spot on, the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The only slight negative was the amount of time needed for hot water to reach the shower. My evening meal was good quality and reasonably priced, beer was good and the breakfast was also good quality and well cooked. I would definitely stay here next time I’m in the area.

The place looks rather unappealing from the kerbside but oh my what a pleasant surprise inside. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a ‘hideaway’ room around the back and it was beautiful. Gorgeous furnishings and the bedding was luxurious. The food in the restaurant was delicious and I couldn’t fault anything about our stay. Thanks to the team at the White Swan.
