I was not expecting to stay in a home town place. I was hoping for a Hampton Inn or the like, but choices were limited. The Inn was cute and well decorated for Christmas. Breakfast was provided, which surprised me, but it came in useful. The parking lot was well lit with motion activated lights. Shenandoah is small, but could be a cute getaway for some.

The person who checked us in was friendly and helpful. Parking was behind the building. The room was clean. There was a good place for dinner within walking distance. The breakfast at the Inn was very limited, there seemed to be only processed cereals and cereal bars and 1 bowl of fruit. So we did not eat anything. Checkout was convenient, you only had to drop your card into a box by the door to the parking area.

All staff were so kind and helpful! We both really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this property if we ever come back to ride the Wabash Trace Trail again. Lovely location and room was very nice. They also have a safe room to store bikes in that they can monitor 24/7 right off the main desk.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The beds were very nice and felt like they were fairly new. The hotel was in the downtown part of the small city area and was very walkable to everything. There was a continental breakfast and work out room and the parking felt safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If we were in the area again, we would seek out this hotel again.

Check in lady was kinda rude. Didn’t give the run down of when check out was and when breakfast was or anything like that. Got up to our room and the door was propped open with the luggage wrack. The shower did not look like it had been cleaned as there was a bunch of hair in it. The beds are pretty firm, not awful, but not very comfortable. The facility over all is nice. Would stay here again, as usually this hotel is a lot better that it was this stay.

Upon using the jetted tub...a hairball came out of one of the jets...there was paper hearts from someone there previously and there were wrappers from sweets under the recliner that we moved forward to sit in.

Hotel is newer and rooms including beds were nice. Breakfast was limited on warm items to just pancakes (no eggs or sausage or oatmeal), but was ok. Heard a little noise from the room in floor above. Very friendly staff.

I always try to stay here when I'm in the area. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and almost always quiet no matter how busy they are. I love the spaciousness of the king room, and the recliner is a welcome bonus after a busy day. The bed is great and there are an abundance of pillows. I really like that everything feels fresh, clean, and well maintained, especially the carpet. Staff is always friendly and personable, from the desk staff to housekeeping, which makes a stay so nice. There are only a few downsides: 1) the street lights shine in around the drapes, so bring a sleep mask if light bothers you (it does me); 2) no microwave in the room, so you have to go down to the lobby to heat up food; and 3) breakfast options are limited: cold cereal, breakfast bars, and a pancake machine (which I didn't try). As someone who often is on the road for days at a time, I've learned to plan ahead and bring other food options and my own accoutrements to make up for such shortcomings, so not a biggie for me. Bottom line? This place is always a great choice and I highly recommend them. Within walking distance of The Sanctuary (an awesomely tasty restaurant for breakfast and lunch), and of course, right in downtown so its easy to check out the variety of local businesses. You can't go wrong with the Shenandoah Inn!

Smoke alarm was in a bag still connected. Hotel room was clean and bathroom. If wanting to sleep in stay on the second floor. Only because the sidewalk is busy in the front and your windows on the first floor is right on the sidewalk. Very nice hotel and clean.

Very nice hotel. One of the nicest we have stayed in and at a reasonable price. We enjoyed our short stay but would recommend to others. The only complaint was that the light in the bathroom/tub room did not work part of the time. Not something that could have been avoided--just an inconvenience.

We came to town to visit our uncle in an assisted living facility and decided to spend the night. We stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The front staff on check in and check out were both super friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and inviting, the bed was very comfortable! We will definitely stay there again next time we visit Shenandoah. 😊

This place is a gem. I stay at a lot of hotels, and this place in a tiny town in Iowa was surprisingly great. Very basic but clean rooms, plus a grab and go breakfast.
