It has potential, had a small fridge but has never been used because power cord wont reach outlet, o ice machine broke. It has a sign on shower door saying if you want hot water for your shower please run the water for 15 minutes, Were sorry for the inconvenience Really! In a drought 30 units running water each 15 minutes, if we needed anything to come back staffed till 9, nope sign uplong before that closed, left 8:30 am next morning still closed It has potential to be a great boutique hotel just needs some pride.

At 8:30pm, hotel called us I guess to confirm we were still coming even though the website states that the office is open until 10pm. We checked in at 9pm after which the clerk promptly closed the office. We needed a little ice but that was in the closed office. Also only decaf in our room and we couldn't get regular because the clerk left early. We went to a gas station for coffee at 5am. The water pressure was low, taking a long time to rinse hair. The beds are low to ground. It wasn't a bad stay but the clerk leaving early impacted this review.

This is a new remodeled place. The room had only a night stand and a closet with a coffee maker and safe. No room to hang clothes. The plug in by the night stand was not mounted properly so it sank into the wall while plugging in a charging cord. The windows had no curtains so the light outside filled the room all night and the morning sun woke me earlier than I wanted to get up. Also the parking lot filled up so much that getting a 1/2 ton pick around was almost impossible.

It looked to me like the lodge was in the middle of, or had recently completed an upgrade. Our room was in great shape though we never got the TV to work. That wasn't an issue, however, since we weren't there to watch TV! They'd just upgraded the locks on the door to use a PIN instead of key and that worked out very well. There were sufficient pillows, the bed was pretty comfortable, the shower pressure was good and the water was hot. Of note, the lodge is not "in" Taos so be prepared for a short-ish drive to get to downtown Taos if that's why you are visiting. The lodge is right next to the main road but wasn't overly noisy. The area felt safe and I noticed security cameras watching the parking lot. It isn't a big property and you might look twice at it but it was freshly painted, renovated, clean, and safe.

Sparkling clean, comfortable bed. On the highway at the end of town. Put the climate control on “constant fan” for white noise. Bring an eye shade of light bothers you. Travel with a power strip. Our room had only one outlet on one side of the bed. Had to charge phones and watches across the room. Friendly staff, modern decor. Keurig, micro fridge and microwave in the spacious room.

Recently renovated property. Nice, safe, modern and clean. Our only challenge was communication with the property. One of our door codes did not work; we texted the property, and they did not respond. We also texted the property two other messages with questions, and they did not respond. We stopped by the front desk twice, during posted open hours, and it was locked/closed (9 am and 4 pm). So great property but very challenging to communicate with.

I would look elsewhere. My room had many bugs, the TV was completely disconnected, the coffee maker was dirty, it took 15 minutes to get hot water in the shower, and the second room floor above me sounded like they were having an exorcism all night.

The Taos Motor Lodge has pretty clearly undergone a number of renovations that make it an attractive and affordable choice although it's location is a bit too far to walk to and from Taos Plaza/Kit Carson Park than its competitors up the road. While our room was tidy and tastefully appointed, it wasn't clean, especially in the bathroom where we found a disheartening number of long hairs that weren't ours on the bathroom floor and in the shower. While the new laminate floor in the rest of the room were new and looked in good shape, they too had very clearly not been mopped between guests, and we had to use the in-house wash clothes as rudimentary mops to degrunge the floors. Beyond that, the beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning unit was strong and responsive, and the rooms feature Kuerig coffee makers and one (wish there were too) lovely mugs that appear to get stolen.

Upon arrival the motel looked beautiful, when entering the room. We noticed a smell and dead bugs all over the window seal. There were bugs crawling on our table and the floor. Might just be due to the season.

This lodging option is great value given the price. It’s a short drive to the plaza and stores. Like other guests mentioned, the walls are thin so you will hear other guests and traffic passing by. The only other downside for me was that the floors of my room were quite dirty. I brought my yoga mat to stretch on and there was a lot of dirt and hair on the floor that definitely wasn’t mine.

There were bugs all over the hotel room and when I spoke to the front desk about it she said “we recently sprayed for them” and then pointed out they were also all over the lobby. Just extremely lazy to not even pick up the dead carcasses. She instantly locked the lobby after that so i couldn’t talk to her more. Not to mention the lobby was locked when we tried to check in and had a sign on the door that we had to come back an hour later (we showed up right at check in time) they refused to refund either of our two nights even when we didn’t stay the second night.

The room appeared to be recently remodeled which was nice. Maybe an extra small table in the sink area for toiletries as the sink is very small and hard to accommodate these items. A large area rug would be awesome to absorb noise and make the room more comfortable. We could hear every step from the upstairs rooms. Hooks for towels were not avaliable.

How they are rated so highly is beyond my comprehention or I got the worst room they have. Avoid room 8! I will start with the positive. - Looks to have been recently modernized - Very clean - Convenient location - Great shampoo, condItioner and body wash - Super easy check in and check out - Staff were helpfull and professional The bad! - The beds were extremly low to the ground. You had to squat low to get in and I am not tall. - The bed was not supportive. Way to soft especially for those with back issues. - My bathroom didn't have a door, wow! - Unless they had some hidden darkening blinds I couldnt digure out, they didn't have darkening blinds so the outside lights blared into the room at night. - Walls must be extremely thin cause you could hear EVERYTHING going all around you. - Hotel is off a main street so if a loud truck goes by you'll hear it easy. Check out google review I left with pictures of the no door and the light coming through the blinds they have.

From the street the hotel looks dated and you expect to be disappointed. After a pleasant & friendly check in I opened my door and I knew I had made a good decision. The room was updated in a high quality way and was very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend.

Stay was good, but floor above a bit thin and creaky as people walked around. Room very clean and in a new state A major improvement would be the addition of dark curtains to block light in the 3 large front windows. There are curreny transluscent drapes that pass light and the hotel front is too well lit. It was like trying to sleep under a bright moon!

The rooms are decent and renovated. Definitely had a musty smell when we entered, but AC worked well. All lights outside the room at kept on all night so it was hard to sleep, even with the window shades down. We could hear people laughing in the room next door, so walls must not be very sound proof. Overall, a decent stay for the price.

The room was clean but did not look like the Expedia pictures at all! Also, the water pressure was non-existent and you had to turn on the hot water and wait up to 15 minutes for it to get warm (they have a sign taped to the shower door). We were on the first floor and the noise from people walking above us was terrible.

I am absolutely perplexed as to how things could have been this bad. I arrived late (9PM) and my room door was propped open. The bed was wonderful but there was mouse poop, a dirty floor and-- here's the kicker-- only two wash cloths, a towel and a bath mat... which I wish I had realized before hopping in the shower. They claim they have 24 hour service but it took 11 hours to get towels, despite multiple texts and calls to the after-hours folks. I never even got a response on the towel front: I managed to intercept a house keeper to get them. There was no room service while I was there and one roll of TP doesn't cover an extended trip. Ditto on the coffee. I really don't understand how this could have been that bad. I stayed here once before and it was good. I can't see ever going back.

Never received code for room prior to arrival. Checked in at the office, was given codes for a room already occupied. Got different room, codes did not work. Eventually given a key. Dog in neighbor room barked incessantly while owners were out. No one from hotel onsite to address issues or contact dog owners. Lots of noise from room above. Overall disappointing experience.

$50 pet fee, AND a $50 personal deposit, supposedly to be refunded, but we haven't seen that one returned. Message to text when checking out, but no number to text to, so I found one online, then found one on the door when we decided to go to office (closed at 7:42am), so texted them again at that number. I have texted, emailed and called about the 50 refund, but no answers from them or Orbitz.

I was delightfully surprised. I was needing to stay near a home I was purchasing so I was looking for a place to sleep as I was busy during the day. The motel was perfect, sorta old school in a good way. GREAT price and great for an overnight stop. Staff was great too.

It was clean, except outside areas had a lot of debris in stairwell area. The bed was very firm. My main complaint is that at check-in we were told the tv service was not working (which really wasn't a big deal) they offered a 15% discount for the inconvenience. Since we booked through a 3rd party, they said we had to go through the 3rd party to get the refund. When we contacted the 3rd party, they tried for 3 days to contact the property and the discount was denied. I don't appreciate the dishonesty from the staff. That was very uncool. Don't make promises you don't intend to keep. Also, there was very little staff presence after check in time. No one was present in the evening or morning.

The rooms were attractive and well done. The bed was comfy and the place was clean. What SUCKED was the check-in. I had reservations for months; since February. When we arrived in Taos for a concert, check-in was stated to be 3pm. We arrived at 3, thinking we'd check-in then head downtown for dinner and the concert. Nope! We waited for over 2-hours to get checked in. Despite that, others who arrived after us were checked into their rooms. The whole system was a disaster and the manager clearly had no clue on what she was doing. According to her, her cleaning staff, one on each floor, told her when a room was ready and evidently rooms had already been pre-assigned. Instead of pivoting to prepare rooms when guests were checked-in, the cleaning staff dictated which rooms were available. It was absolutely horrible.

Showed up at 7:45 the office was closed called the property because an email was never sent giving me a code for late arrival we were on the phone on hold for over an hour at 10:15 I decided to get another room somewhere else… Terrible customer service!! I will never book another room with them again!!!

"Quirky" has been used and is accurate. Very non-traditional bath arrangement in room 11, but a good stay overall. Staff was exceptional. I was going to be getting in late, so I called ahead and they got me checked in easily. Excellent communication, and I'm sorry I didn't get the girl's name, but THANK YOU.

I had room 12 which was big and the bed was really comfy, It was a solid night's stay for one night. I appreciated the contactless check in/check out. The Lodge is not walking distance to the main hub of Taos but it is a quick drive.

The hotel has been cutely renovated, but the surrounding area seemed kind of sketchy with the bus stop right out front. The TV in our room (16) is mounted on the wall on the side of one of the beds, almost at the head of the bed so pretty much impossible to lay in bed to watch. In the morning, we realized the coffee maker didn’t work and when we called the office number were told nobody was on site until 11 AM. When we checked in, I had gotten an email with keypad instructions for the room but when we got there, the keypad was not working and I had to call and was told “Oh yeah, we had to take the battery out and hadn’t gotten around to letting you know,” so had to go to the office to get a physical key. Not that big a deal but annoying. The room seemed clean, but it definitely wasn’t spotless. The TV situation was pretty ridiculous and that alone would prevent me from staying there again. Along with it being in a horrible location, having to log into PlutoTV to watch anything was super frustrating.

Cute and modern, the Taos Motor Lodge has been carefully restored and is very welcoming. However, it is located on the far south side of town, making it a bit of a journey into the heart of Taos. Most rooms gave the highway, so light and noise also creep in, but over all, a good value for Taos.

This has had a fairly recent refresh so new paint, clean and new bedding on the two beds, solid bathroom facilities and Apple TV all made for a very pleasant overnight stay. The “neighborhood” was a bit run down but the Mexican restaurants nearby were good.

Taos motor is very clean. Newly and nicely renovated. This is just suggestion on the coffee maker. It was a little hard to make coffee in the buffet cabinet. Maybe adding another little table would make it easier. I did like the cabinet though. Very nice touch. Over all I would definitely stay and recommend this place l. Plus they have really nice and clean beds! Thank you we look forward to staying again!

This was a great hotel. Super updated and awesome furnishings, really cute. It was very quiet in our room. The amenities were overall good but we could have used a little more variety in the morning hot drinks, and the sink was a bit clogged. Nothing terrible. Overall a great experience. Would stay here again for sure.

Currently under construction as of 5/1/23. No one was in the office upon arrival and the door just had a number to call. Had to call a few times until someone picked up and told me to come to room 14 to check in. No breakfast was provided, not even package of cereal or pastry. Should have been informed in advance. I suggested that a partial refund would be a nice gesture and the check in person said: "I'll relay that info to my GM." Yeah, I'm sure she did. Either way no apology came my way and nothing further was mentioned. As for the room it was tiny and the blinds let a lot of morning light through. Won't stay here again.
