Lovely garden setting with views of Magic Mountain ski area. The swimming pool was refreshing on a warm summer day. The lodge has great character, and the owner’s craft items on display and for sale were fabulous.

There is no ac, the pool was closed, the property was adorable and had the nicest flowers. The owners were very nice and you can get a warm breakfast. The beds are comfy.

When I first drove up I was disappointed--the view from the front is not very appealing, being on a resort access road. However, I was quickly won over by the cozy common room, my attractively quaint and clean room, the very comfortable bed, and the charming back garden and pond (complete with 2 goose families). The hosts were attentive but not intrusive and offered good advice about local attractions. The nearby town had a few decent restaurants and there were a number of interesting outdoor places to explore within a 30 min drive.

The property was cute and breakfast was ok. They made it clear this is not a place for kids, which was off putting. We advised their were additional people (our 4 and 6yr old) so they could charge us, and the made a big deal of that and we’re basically rude (originally we went bringing them. A breakfast sandwich was offered to my husband but not a word to the me or my kids. Overall comfortable place but the owners were not nice (mostly the husband)

We had a phenomenal stay. The room was perfect, super cozy and super soft sheets. Breakfast was home cooked and always fresh coffee with breakfast. Lisa and Ken were super nice and made our stay feel like visiting family. Can’t wait to go back.

The Gentian Lodge is an absolute gem with the ambiance of a quaint lodge in the German mountains. The rooms were cute and comfortable and the breakfast service and staff are top-notch. Did I mention the beautiful and ornate Xmas display? Can't wait to visit next year!
