The Granby Hotel

I had a great stay as a solo traveller for work; I had a slight issue before I was due to arrive but the team were brilliant and sorted it for me. The room was great and looks recently renovated, and the bar downstairs was perfect for a drink and evening meal. I'll certainly stay again when im next in Whitby.

When we arrived we received a warm welcome, Claire explained the parking process and all we needed to do. The bedroom was clean and comfy. We opted for breafast, what a good decision that was, it was delicious, one of the best full English breakfasts I have had, certainly filled us up ready for the day. A couple of evenings we popped into the bar for a drink, the staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend Granby Hotel if visiting Whitby

The hotel was in a great location for exploring Whitby, with lots of hidden gems nearby that were lovely to discover. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, although the pillows were a little too soft for my liking. There were a few downsides to our stay. The walls seemed quite thin, so we could hear a lot of noise from other guests, which was a little off-putting at times. When we checked in, the staff didn’t seem particularly welcoming or eager to help, although we didn’t need to contact them again during our stay. Our room was at the top of the building, so it became quite warm during the day (around 20°C). Opening the window helped, but it did mean we were woken up quite early by noisy birds. Overall, the location was definitely the highlight of our stay, and with a few improvements to the soundproofing and guest experience, it could be even better.
