The La Rosa is an awesome quirky, individual hotel. If you want corporate blandness avoid at all costs. If you want to be treated as an individual and like something different this is the place to be in Whitby. The staff are awesome and love a chat in the bar over one of their amazing cocktails. Special mention to Brodie who was great company in the bar. We stopped in the sacre coeur which is a lovely room with a great view of the Abbey. The room has a bath and lots of French inspired nick nacks on display. The heating was very hot in the room so don't worry if visiting in Winter. The whole hotel is an individual mix with a 20's kind of vibe, which is very relaxing - leave the corporate modern world behind for a bit and enjoy!

Great location and views over Whitby harbour. Parking a bit hit and miss on street. Nice, quirky hotel. Very friendly, no shower became a bit tiresome after three nights and room could have done with more comfortable furniture. Also worth noting breakfast not included in Expedia rate.

We had a lovely welcome at check in 💕 The parking was super we got parked outside which was convenient and we were given a parking permit. So that took the stress out of parking as Whitby was busy. The hotel is quirky and fabulous which we loved. We stayed in the crows nest on the the top floor. It had 3 bedrooms, living room, bathroom and seperate toilet. Each room is themed and the kids loved the treasure chest full of dressing up! Our room had beautiful views over the harbour. We went out for dinner to Trenches it's was amazing. Best fish and chips in Whitby 💕 We only booked room only so for breakfast we went out too! But there is an option of a continental breakfast at the hotel .We used the hotel as a base it's a super location and great for a short stay especially for a family of five which is difficult to find 💕. We were also given complimentary milk and tea and coffee making facilities in our apartment and fresh orange juice in the morning which is a lovely touch thank you! We would recommend experiencing this unique hotel which capulates the imagination and looks over on to the famous Whitby Abby 💕We had a wonderful stay thank you to the La Rosa hotel and wonderful staff!

The stay was lovely and very unique, this is a hotel with a very old timey vibe, don’t expect televisions or anything with too much of a “modern” feel, but that is a good thing, it add to the character of the building overall, just take your laptop or Netflix on ya phone if it’s an issue, as they do have Wi-Fi! They have a tea room with a lovely vibe, and a cocktail lounge with lots of unique choice, Vampire Velvet was good, just bring a strong liver, they are boozy! Good location, it is a hell of a walk if you take the steps up so I recommend to stick to the ramps and if you have mobility issues especially so, but it’s still doable and 100% worth it for the views. And the BATH my goodness the tin bath in the Saloon room was a lifesaver! Cooled our aching muscles down a treat 😂

A very quirky property in a quiet, walkable location. Amazing views of the beach and across to Whitby Abbey. Our room was basic and had no shower but was warm and comfortable. Lots of interesting antiques devote the property. We had a lovely afternoon tea looking at the view.

A unique and fabulously styled hotel, in a fantastic location. I've wanted to stay for a long time and it certainly lived up to expectations. Lovely team of folk behind it and we really enjoyed the cocktails. I look forward to visiting again, thankyou!

Definitely different from the soulless norm. Very pleasant greeting from the owners and a lovely served breakfast with some very nice personal touches. A lot of thought had gone into the decor some of which was highly amusing, not least the draped mannikin in the cocktail bar. The cocktails were excellent as well. If you want all modcons of a modern hotel chain then not for you but if you like something unique, personal and quirky then this is for you. Made our road trip down the East Coast very special.

Nice property and location, but let down by overall room cleanliness. Lot of dust, bits and crumbs in bed as if it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Had to request new towels as the first set stank of mould/damp and didn’t look clean - smell was bad enough that it left the smell on my skin. Bath was nice and big, view was good, staff were friendly.

Quirky hotel where each room is themed. Decorated with lots of recycled vintage items. The room and en-suite were a good size. Our room had a view of the beach and Abbey. Orange juice delivered to our room each morning. Fabulous location- walking distance of the harbour etc.

This hotel is really special. Great Victorian ambiance. Amazing view of the abbey and bay. Do not expect TV but wifi is good. Loved the all antique decor.

What can i say about the la rosa hotel all the staff was polite couldn't do anuff for us wile we was there i found out im allergic to feather quits and the changed them amediatley if you like bespoke room that the place to stay i we will diffinetly be going back thank you for the wonderful experience

I had such an amazing stay at La Rosa Hotel in Whitby! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming—honestly, all three of them were just amazing. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and created such a warm atmosphere that it felt more like a home than a hotel or B&B. The hotel itself has such a cool, quirky vibe—it really captures the charm of Whitby’s seaside atmosphere. The breakfast was definitely a highlight—so tasty and filling, it set me up perfectly for the day ahead. Everything about the place feels thoughtful, from the comfy rooms to the fantastic hospitality. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy it all over again!

Quirky hotel where each room is themed. Decorated with lots of recycled vintage items. The room and en-suite were a good size. Our room had a view of the beach and Abbey. Orange juice delivered to our room each morning. Fabulous location- walking distance of the harbour etc.

Most unique - pretend you are a traveling Victorian.. I had skate wing at the Magpie and the most fabulous view of the Abbey from our bed. The hop off hop on bus starts practically out the door and eliminates ant need to walk up or Dow the steep “cliffs” to the town below or the Abbey across the harbor..

A very quirky property in a quiet, walkable location. Amazing views of the beach and across to Whitby Abbey. Our room was basic and had no shower but was warm and comfortable. Lots of interesting antiques devote the property. We had a lovely afternoon tea looking at the view.

Not your typical hotel - don’t expect cable TV and a jacuzzi. This hotel is English eccentric and unique. A museum of curiosities, a superb location with Abbey and sea views - absolutely delightful.

The La Rosa is an awesome quirky, individual hotel. If you want corporate blandness avoid at all costs. If you want to be treated as an individual and like something different this is the place to be in Whitby. The staff are awesome and love a chat in the bar over one of their amazing cocktails. Special mention to Brodie who was great company in the bar. We stopped in the sacre coeur which is a lovely room with a great view of the Abbey. The room has a bath and lots of French inspired nick nacks on display. The heating was very hot in the room so don't worry if visiting in Winter. The whole hotel is an individual mix with a 20's kind of vibe, which is very relaxing - leave the corporate modern world behind for a bit and enjoy!

Great location and views over Whitby harbour. Parking a bit hit and miss on street. Nice, quirky hotel. Very friendly, no shower became a bit tiresome after three nights and room could have done with more comfortable furniture. Also worth noting breakfast not included in Expedia rate.

We had a lovely welcome at check in 💕 The parking was super we got parked outside which was convenient and we were given a parking permit. So that took the stress out of parking as Whitby was busy. The hotel is quirky and fabulous which we loved. We stayed in the crows nest on the the top floor. It had 3 bedrooms, living room, bathroom and seperate toilet. Each room is themed and the kids loved the treasure chest full of dressing up! Our room had beautiful views over the harbour. We went out for dinner to Trenches it's was amazing. Best fish and chips in Whitby 💕 We only booked room only so for breakfast we went out too! But there is an option of a continental breakfast at the hotel .We used the hotel as a base it's a super location and great for a short stay especially for a family of five which is difficult to find 💕. We were also given complimentary milk and tea and coffee making facilities in our apartment and fresh orange juice in the morning which is a lovely touch thank you! The stay was lovely and very unique, this is a hotel with a very old timey vibe, don’t expect televisions or anything with too much of a “modern” feel, but that is a good thing, it add to the character of the building overall, just take your laptop or Netflix on ya phone if it’s an issue, as they do have Wi-Fi! They have a tea room with a lovely vibe, and a cocktail lounge with lots of unique choice, Vampire Velvet was good, just bring a strong liver, they are boozy! Good location, it is a hell of a walk if you take the steps up so I recommend to stick to the ramps and if you have mobility issues especially so, but it’s still doable and 100% worth it for the views. And the BATH my goodness the tin bath in the Saloon room was a lifesaver! Cooled our aching muscles down a treat 😂

A fabulous weekend at La Rosa. All the staff were unbelievably amazing. Brody in particular was an excellent host as we spent a few hours in the Cocktail Library. The Arabesque Room wasso cosy and the bed was so comfortable, we didn't want to get up! Breakfast in our room was a lovely touch. The hotel is eco-friendly minimising their use of plastics. The toiletries in the room were beautiful (hand made soap) The attention detail to everything the hotel does sets it apart from anywhere else we've stayed. We will definitely be celebrating our anniversary here again next year 💖

Definitely different from the soulless norm. Very pleasant greeting from the owners and a lovely served breakfast with some very nice personal touches. A lot of thought had gone into the decor some of which was highly amusing, not least the draped mannikin in the cocktail bar. The cocktails were excellent as well. If you want all modcons of a modern hotel chain then not for you but if you like something unique, personal and quirky then this is for you. Made our road trip down the East Coast very special.

We had an amazing stay at the la Rosa guest house. It's a very quirky hotel so if you something a bit different this is the place for you. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. Nice big bath and the bed was lovely and comfy. We will be staying there again and trying a different room next time as all the rooms are decorated differently with there own unique decor.

Cocktails in the library were gorgeous as was the continental breakfast we had in the tea room. Close to town and the beach, I would stay here again and have no hesitation recommending to others.
