Unbelievable. I booked this hotel to enjoy rotenburo (outside bath) but no such service because of boiler problem. We insisted them to notice the problem on hotels.com but no satisfactory answer obtained. Very regret… Except that, we could enjoy very much.

This is one of my favorite hotel/Ryokans on Earth. The food is spectacular, the service is beyond exceptional (everyone was so nice, very refreshing after staying in Tokyo), and the onsen baths are divine. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I WILL BE BACK!!

It was such an amazing experience! This was my second time at a ryokan and it exceeded all expectations. From the pick up at the train station, to the hospitality, and most importantly, the room that we got was one of the best! We got the king size bed with a private onsen and it did not disappoint. The food was also amazing. We tried out the public bath too and it was empty! We had it all to ourselves. Everything was just so well thought out. I will definitely be back.

Wow what an unforgettable experience. We had a wonderful time at the ishinoya izu nagoaka ryokan. We booked a traditional room with a private which was ideal because I have tattoos and the public baths were under renovations. We still had an amazing time. The food was excellent and we just relaxed and checked out the surrounding areas. We were here for two nights from constantly moving around across Japan so it was great to relax. We had a shuttle bus pick us up from the train station, however we missed our shuttle on our way to the train station due to waiting for other guests to check in before we could check out but the hotel provided us a taxi to the train station which was we thought was so thoughtful. The service was exceptional, and would highly recommend staying here for a few nights.

We loved our room. The staff was very nice and professional, they gave 5 star service. We had the wooden bath. I drained out the water and refilled with fresh hot spring water as the original water was dirty.

Staff are extremely nice and helpful, I have remembered wrong and missed one night of room booking, they willing to check and let us book one more night on site and prep the room in just 10 mins (it is slightly less pricy to do the booking on booking website so don't be like me, and I am just lucky that they have one last room left that night). Have stayed in 3 different rooms type in our three nights stay, all of them are big and clean (even for the smallest one, we still have enough space to open 3 big suit cases), both public & private open bath are big enough. Their breakfast & dinner taste good. All staff willing to try their best to communicate in english (sometime with the aid of the translation machine, but I think it is good enough for me). Have a big car park so parking is not a problem. Definitely will coming back again (We will need to return for the Omikuji after our wish come true). And btw it is just a few blocks away to the Izu Panorama Park which you can see mont Fuji, don't miss this if you plan to stay here, the park is not very big, but it is so comfortable that we stayed for almost 3 hours to take pictures and have lunch.

Room and view were stunning. Bath was nice but there were small mold spots on the ceiling and windows. One of the sliding windows in the room has the frame detaching too. Hard to open and close. But neither took away from a great stay.

We booked at room with the private Japanese Stone Bath. The room is excellent and is bigger than the photo shows. We have been to other Onsen with private bath, and the food, service and comfort here are top quality. Our room is also on a hill, so you walked up a nice garden path to get here. The hotel itself is only 3-5 minutes walking from the entrance to the beautiful Izu Panorama Park.

The most beautiful onsen resort and I absolutely loved it. The room was old-fashioned Japanese style with tatami mats, sliding doors, and charming, authentic feel. The whole place was so serene and peaceful. The onsen was dreamy, clean, relaxing, and just what we needed. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we felt comfortable and welcome. Everything was perfect. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

The absolute perfect ending to my Japan trip! I was in awe the moment I arrived at this property. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, making the overall experience fantastic. The property is beautiful and I couldn't stop smiling when I was shown around my room, I was so excited! I have some tattoos, so I couldn't use the public baths, but I knew that before I booked, so it's okay because the private Cyprus bath I had with my room was heavenly. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, it's like I was sleeping on a cloud. I booked half-board, so I received dinner and breakfast [which was delicious, compliments to the chefs] with a beautiful view outside. I was asked beforehand about any allergies. A nice little personal touch to this experience was getting to pick out a Yukata for myself, upon check-in. I selected a light blue Yukata with pretty white flowers, paired with a sash that was dark blue on one side and pink on the other. They really know how to make you feel welcomed here. Thank you for the wonderful experience! I loved everything about it!

What a gem! We stayed at Ishinoya after our 4 days of non-stop walking and touring Tokyo and before another 3 manic days of touring Kyoto. It was such a needed reprieve! I wish we could have stayed one more night before heading home. We booked the room with a private tub, but I tried the public bath very early one morning when it was empty. It was just pure bliss! You do have to reserve dinner/breakfast in advanced. We're lucky there was one spot left for breakfast. I would have wanted to do the Kaiseki both times. The price for the breakfast kaiseki was very reasonable ($29) per person!!! That would have cost us at least $60 with tax and tip in the Bay Area. Definitely a must stop when in Japan! We took advantage of the free-shuttle too. One straight train ride directly from Shinagawa (JR pass until Mishima, then pay the price difference before exiting). The agent will let you know at the gate because you can't exit using your JR pass anyways. This was the part I was a bit stressed about, and I almost canceled our reservation. However, it was such a smooth ride. Staff carried our luggage all the way the room no issues with having to haul it by yourself.

One of our favorite stops on our 17 day Japan and South Korea trip. The hotel has beautiful grounds and they take exceptional care of their guests. We booked the onsen and half board for 2 nights . So fun to experience Japanese culture!

The most beautiful onsen resort and I absolutely loved it. The room was old-fashioned Japanese style with tatami mats, sliding doors, and charming, authentic feel. The whole place was so serene and peaceful. The onsen was dreamy, clean, relaxing, and just what we needed. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we felt comfortable and welcome. Everything was perfect. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

Staff are extremely nice and helpful, I have remembered wrong and missed one night of room booking, they willing to check and let us book one more night on site and prep the room in just 10 mins (it is slightly less pricy to do the booking on booking website so don't be like me, and I am just lucky that they have one last room left that night). Have stayed in 3 different rooms type in our three nights stay, all of them are big and clean (even for the smallest one, we still have enough space to open 3 big suit cases), both public & private open bath are big enough. Their breakfast & dinner taste good. All staff willing to try their best to communicate in english (sometime with the aid of the translation machine, but I think it is good enough for me). Have a big car park so parking is not a problem. Definitely will coming back again (We will need to return for the Omikuji after our wish come true). And btw it is just a few blocks away to the Izu Panorama Park which you can see mont Fuji, don't miss this if you plan to stay here, the park is not very big, but it is so comfortable that we stayed for almost 3 hours to take pictures and have lunch.

This is a hotel make you feel like you are a VIP. Staffs in front lobby are very helpful and tried their best to communicate with us in English. Onsen are super good and room settings are very impressive. Our package including breakfast and dinner. All the food settings are attractive and delicious. I am happy to pick this hotel. Will come back again soon.

What a gem! We stayed at Ishinoya after our 4 days of non-stop walking and touring Tokyo and before another 3 manic days of touring Kyoto. It was such a needed reprieve! I wish we could have stayed one more night before heading home. We booked the room with a private tub, but I tried the public bath very early one morning when it was empty. It was just pure bliss! You do have to reserve dinner/breakfast in advanced. We're lucky there was one spot left for breakfast. I would have wanted to do the Kaiseki both times. The price for the breakfast kaiseki was very reasonable ($29) per person!!! That would have cost us at least $60 with tax and tip in the Bay Area. Definitely a must stop when in Japan! We took advantage of the free-shuttle too. One straight train ride directly from Shinagawa (JR pass until Mishima, then pay the price difference before exiting). The agent will let you know at the gate because you can't exit using your JR pass anyways. This was the part I was a bit stressed about, and I almost canceled our reservation. However, it was such a smooth ride. Staff carried our luggage all the way the room no issues with having to haul it by yourself.

We booked at room with the private Japanese Stone Bath. The room is excellent and is bigger than the photo shows. We have been to other Onsen with private bath, and the food, service and comfort here are top quality. Our room is also on a hill, so you walked up a nice garden path to get here. The hotel itself is only 3-5 minutes walking from the entrance to the beautiful Izu Panorama Park.

도쿄 시내에서 렌트카로 2시간정도 걸려서 갔습니다. 시즈오카에서면 몰라도 거리 자체는 더 가까울지라도 도쿄에선 대중교통으로 가긴 힘든곳같아요ㅋ 대신 그만큼 도쿄에서 접근성좋은 온천마을의 료칸들보다 저렴해서 선택했습니다. 밖은 일반적인 동네이나 조용한 동네이고 료칸안에 들어오면 정원이 잘 꾸며져있고 오는길에 미리 술이나 주전부리를 사왔다면 나갈일이 거의 없어 충분히 좋았습니다. 대중탕도 양쪽이 다른타입이라 특색있었고, 특히 개별탕이 홈페이지의 사진에서보다 훨씬 넓고 쾌적해서 감동이었습니다! 사진상에선 좁아보이고 나무벽때문에 답답해보였는데 실제로 보니 2면이 넓게 트여있어서 개방감있었어요. 그리고 방충망이 되어있어서 밤에 벌레같은것 없이 온천을 즐길수 있습니다. 가이세키요리는 이전에 갔던 다른곳들보다 화려함은 떨어졌지만 맛있었고, 계절감과 지역색도 잘 나타났었습니다. 마지막으로 특히 직원분들이 굉장히 친절하셨었어요! 요즘 일본 서비스직 구인난으로 숙박업소 서비스가 예전같지 않다는 얘기를 많이 들었었는데, 걱정이 무색하게 다들 친절하시고 어려움도 적극 도와주셨습니다! 그리고 나중에 보니 레스토랑쪽에 한국인 직원도 한분 계시는거 같더라구요. 일본어나 영어 둘다 어려우신 한국분들은 한국인 직원을 불러달라고 요청해도 괜찮을것 같았습니다. 결론적으로 지리적으로 살짝 애매한만큼 방의 넓이와 컨디션, 분위기, 음식, 개별탕, 서비스 다 가격 이상의 만족이었습니다!

This is a lovely property with the best staff! Just be aware that there aren’t a lot of dinning options. 1-2 nights best. 5 minute walk to the Izu Panorama area where you can take the ropeway to the top of the mountain to have lunch and see a view of Mt. Fuji.

The overall experience was great! The private rock onsen is perfect(highly recommended). I’m just not satisfied with the dinner. My first time to have fresh tuna cooked in shabu shabu! The meal on board doesn’t deserve this price.

Onsen at Tambo was great! Everything’s fine except the dinner, particularly the soy sauced stewed pork was slightly overcooked, and the kettle rice was a bit soggy. Could have improved the above to bring the overall experience to another level

This was my favorite stay in Japan , the stone bath private Onsen is a must , water was the perfect temperature. If I ever come back to Japan in this lifetime this will surely take up most of my trip. The staff was so lovely and kind , you have to book the meal as well , was not expecting such a varied and special menu.
