This is the fourth time I have stayed at Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Altamont. The parking lot is well lit, and I feel safe going from my vehicle into the Inn after dark. It has always been clean, and the staff is very nice and helpful. They were able to answer my questions. I like that breakfast is provided in the dining room. I highly recommend this Inn when staying in Altamont.

Quiet location, new facility, comfortable bed, clean linen and bathroom. All bed pillows were foam rubber. Microwave & refrigerator in room. The most amazing thing was the quiet location. Even though it was by the highway, it was very quiet & peaceful. I did not have breakfast there, but apparently they also have a bar in that room in the evenings.

Located in nice small town right off the Interstate. Updated building. Clean. Plenty of hot water/pressure, but no fan in the bathroom. New carpeting. Washing machine out of service. Unable to gain entry with room key card to fitness room, two pieces of equipment. One staff who had great difficulty checking me in. Charged $1.86 up front for use of safe, which I don't use. Told they will take it off when I leave? Signs about security/theft, and up front charge on safe. Solo female, made me uncomfortable about the area. Strong wifi. Lounge on site, didn't use. Breakfast, didn't use. Great Mexican Restaurant in town and lovely park to walk in.

The perfect spot for a night of rest. We walked to a local pizza shoppe, parked easily, bed was comfy, etc. Thank you Cobblestone staff! Would stay here again most definitely!

Beds were comfy and room seem pretty clean. We had 20 people staying for event in the area and we needed a place to hang out to talk. They have a lounge which was a nice sitting area, but we had to get out at 11:30pm and the lobby holds about 5-10 people. Our family that drove from Minnesota we don't see a lot had our visit cut short. Otherwise, it was a nice place.

We were given room cards upon check in. When we got to our room there was a do not disturb sign hanging. We thought it might have been an oversight. We knocked, waited, and entered. The room had not been turned over. Dirty towels on floor and bed a mess. We went back downstairs and it took way too long to get another room. And not the King bed that we had booked. We needed to get to a wedding reception. This mistake should not have happened and thankfully there wasn’t anyone still in the room. The rest of the stay was good. Clean. Good breakfast, etc. I gave an overall poor rating in hopes that someone would actually read this.

Two words: Bed bugs. Now, to be clear: the desk workers were very pleasant. No complaints. Check in was easy, and other than a bizarre charge for using the safe, unremarkable. (That said, the solution for getting that charge taken off was clearly explained). The property itself looked really nice. Bedding was comfortable. Hallways were quiet. But I woke up in the middle of the night clawing at my skin. When I looked in the mirror this morning, I had welts on my upper arms, legs, and feet. I went back and stripped the bed (at least the part where I slept); not knowing what to look for, I can't say I saw anything definitive. There were tiny black specks on the sheets and the mattress cover. Nothing my phone (which is really old) could pick up well. I told the desk person. I knew she couldn't do anything about it because I paid Expedia for the room, not the hotel directly. But I'm leaving this review so other travellers will know.

Don’t ever get the side of the building that faces I70. We had to listen to large trucks rumbling along the highway all night long. We have stayed here before but on the other side with none of the noise issues. So be sure to ask.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cobblestone Inn in Altamont. Great location - small town feel, but all the services we needed. The property is clean and felt very safe. Everything is in very good condition and clean. Only complaint is the bed pillows are the pits! Those little square & hard pillows really don’t do the job. Otherwise, it’s an A+!

The Good: Very nice and clean. Friendly staff. Decent enough hot and cold breakfast options. Walking distance to a nice gas station with almost anything you’d need to get through the day, a McDonald’s, Subway, Dollar General and Italian restaurant. The Bad: I stayed on the 2nd floor that was facing the interstate and it was pretty loud. I can say that I didn’t hear a peep inside the hotel from other guests but the traffic noise from the interstate was kind of annoying. You must know that if you need an uber or Lyft, you are out of luck as of February 2025. I literally went back and forth between the two apps for 3 straight hours trying to get someone to pick me up and nothing. It’s definitely a dead area for ride share. I even googled local cab companies and despite there being a few listed, they seem to be more interested in fighting with their past customers on Google reviews than answering their phones. I would definitely stay here again but would be sure to ask for a room facing away from the interstate would be my biggest thing.

We always enjoy staying at this hotel. Staff are very nice. On this particular stay when we checked in, the power was out in the city. The gentleman who checked us in very kindly offered to carry my heavy suitcase to my second floor room due to the elevator not working because of the power outage. That was above and beyond what I expected. He excelled at delivering great customer service and should be recognized by his employer for it. This was at 430 pm on November 6. Rooms are always clean, well stocked and comfortable. Breakfast is good and has many choices.

Took about an hour to check me in. The clerk received my booking from expedia but it didn't make it to their system. I didn't know if issue was going to be resolved because clerk couldn't help me. Manager was contacted and instructed clerk to check me in anyway. It was a lengthy and painful process. Once checked in, everything was great with the hotel itself.

We checked in a little before 11 p.m. and the staff could not understand how to implement our Expedia reservation! We had three rooms booked. She was not a very pleasant individual and it took almost 30 minutes to get checked in! I would suggest finding an alternative way to work between Expedia and the hotels being chosen. Confirmation numbers and itinerary numbers should be combined or something to streamline the system so it's more customer friendly.

My son left his AirPods and we called and the lady went and looked herself and found them! The lady had to look twice and didn’t mind at all! She kept them for a week until we were able to come back through!

We drive to St Louis from a few states away every couple of months. Altamont is the perfect City for a quick stopover 90 minutes before STL. Rooms and public spaces are immaculate, very quiet and a walkable neighborhood right outside to stretch the legs after a road trip. All this for half the cost of staying in the big city. This is our go to hotel!

Check in was great. Room was clean. Hotel was quiet. But their breakfast was not much! Juice machine was broken. We had to ask for more eggs and bacon. Eggs were very bland and bacon was half cooked. They did have waffles you could make. A few muffins and yougart and cold cereal. No fruit or hot cereal. Could do much better!
