Quiet, private little woodland gem with clean room, view of the water, central location to anything we wanted to do, and Kristine, the Innkeeper, who was highly responsive, welcoming, and a delight to chat with.

This was our annual sisters trip. The Harbor Lighthouse Inn is at the far end, near the ferry to Washington Island, of the peninsula. When we first got there, I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't in a touristy area and I wanted to be a little touristy since it was my first time in Door County. We hiked at Peninsula State Park then stopped in Sister Bay for the touristy stuff. After that I was super happy we weren't staying in that area. The hostess, Kristina is the best!! So friendly and inviting. We had a bonfire it made for a perfect evening! The supper club less than half mile from us, has great food. The Resort really wasn't too far from anything. It is a very cute place.

I can tell they've been updating the place recently. The property still needs a little work, but my room was renovated and beautiful! The bathroom was huge. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a very long time. The owner/manager is friendly, inviting, and accommodating. I love that you can use the Great Room, which has a sitting area that's like a living room, and a full kitchen. It's open for all guests to use. The location is also ideal: a bit farther north than the busy cities, quiet, very close to the water, and with easy access to all fun adventures on DC. I will stay here again when I come back to DC! Highly recommend!

This is an older property but very well maintained. Our room was large and spacious with a good sized bathroom. The bathroom has a pedestal sink which is not functional at all for women. There's a shelf but not large. Towels are not replenished daily and neither is coffee. In their "great room" you can find ice and more coffee packets. So you can get it yourself. The king bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The towels were very thin and small. If you like plush towels, these won't fit the bill. Overall we had a nice stay there, but I think the amenities are lacking. The owner was very nice on the phone the night we checked in, but we never saw anyone on staff for the whole time we were there, which is odd. The view is beautiful from the front porch so if you don't care too much about amenities, I would recommend you try this one.

The check-in was not as stated, I had to call to get my room code. The staff was holding parties each night and repeatedly knocked on my door. I was not interested in having a drinking party with strangers, not why I came on vacation. By the second night of knocking on my door, twice, I was glad I was leaving the next day and will not return. The property was built by a local family and ran it for many years. Now that it has changed hands there is lots of peeling paint and the need to party. My room was clean and the bed comfy. My room had a very large shower that was tiled with not one safety bar to hold onto or any towel bars in the large bathroom. The room was quiet but I need my down time without having to beg off every night.
