Loved that there was a private parking lot. It was a bit of a tight squeeze but so much better than parking on the street. The house is absolutely gorgeous and well-kept. My room “the library” was nice and clean. The bed was so cozy. All the other guests were quiet, very minimal/ if any street noise. The owners are so sweet, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. This is where I’ll stay if/when I come back to Philadelphia!

Warm, personal hospitality. Amazing Victorian antiques in this huge old house. Exterior needs work but rooms are clean and comfortable with wine in the downstairs pantry. Off street parking for 3 cars but needs security cameras as there was a break in of a car with items inside.

We stayed in this property for two nights. Owner and staff were very helpful and hospitable. Beautifully restored building, lovely room on third floor. It had a few quirks of a two hundred year old building like uneven floors and no elevator but otherwise very comfortable. Room was furnished with period accurate furniture. We had two lovely breakfasts. Lots of dining options in 10 minutes of walking. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Fabulous property with authentic Victorian decor and furnishings. Comfortable, quiet and the breakfasts are generous and delicious! There were some minor repairs needed but that’s normal for older properties. The hosts are what made my stay special. They treat customers with dignity and are very accommodating. Looking forward to my next stay.

Lovely grand old house. Location was great. We overestimated our travel time and arrived 4 hrs. early. We were able to store our luggage in our room and walk to a park for a popup market. Beautifully decorated. Nice breakfast at a large group table. Staff was very friendly and helpful Enjoyed our stay and would go back. When we went it was on the market . It, like any grand old home. needed some maintenance but it didn't affect our stay.

The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. I was very happy. The staff was friendly and eager to please. The wi-fi left a little to be desired though. There were a few delays in accessing it and then service was sometimes slow, but it was really all I needed. Parking: There are a few spots on the property which was a plus (and a deciding factor) when I booked the room. There is also on street parking in the area, but I didn't really have to use it for my stay. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. We had fruit and pumpkin bread with OJ, coffee and tea. And then another plate appeared with a variety of foods. It was great way to start my day's adventures. The guests were pretty friendly as well, so a little morning conversation was really nice. One caveat: I took that particular room for the fireplace, and as the day's weather was changeable, I tried to put it on my first night, but couldn't get it to light. I asked the next morning why, and I was advised the gas was turned off due to the recently warm days. The gas was turned on and I was able to enjoy the fireplace the next night. So, if you want use of the fireplace, I'd just ask as soon as you check in. I highly recommend this spot and would return again in a heartbeat. It was exactly what I was looking for and had a wonderful 2 nights.

The hosts were accommodating, and the breakfasts were filling, varying each of the four mornings we were there to keep things interesting. One thing I especially appreciated was how the family kept the grounds up. Some places let their outdoor furniture get dusty, but not The Gables--you could go out and have your pick of seating areas on the porch or in the lawn, in top shape receive you.

Good place to stay, and it's nice if you're independent, for example, we could get drinks any time from the common areas downstairs. Quiet, neat, and peaceful. We did not have to worry about parking. The managers were friendly and personable, and sent personal texts the day we were scheduled to arrive, which was a friendly touch. The breakfast was delicious! We've stayed there twice and would not consider anywhere else when we go back to Philadelphia.

This place was so wonderful. The building is absolutely beautiful, and the staff is very quick to response. They're helpful and super sweet. The breakfast both days we stayed was delicious. Our room was adorable, and very clean.The rooms were all booked but you could barely tell. This place was very quiet and clean. We will definitely stay again next time we're in Philly. Thanks!

This is my second time staying at the Gables. This beautiful historic mansion is so well preserved and maintained. Every room is uniquely decorated. Breakfast is deliciously served with bread, fruit, toasts, and eggs… as well as juice and coffee. I enjoyed meeting other travelers and shared our travel stories over breakfast. The team running this B&B is extraordinary. Cesar, Annette, and Jeanette are so kind and attentive. I will definitely come back to this place again. Also, the location is so close to UPenn and Drexel University, and not very far from downtown. On site parking without extra fee is a big plus for me.

Overall the Gables was as advertised. The room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable but the shower was small and the shower head smaller. The pancakes were great and they accommodated our vegetarian diet. The hosts were warm, welcoming and very helpful.

We had a very nice stay at the Gables for a couple days. Grand old Victorian building, beautiful wood flooring, staircases, tastefully decorated with old and antique furniture. Nice neighborhood. The host family is extremely welcoming and attentive, and breakfast in the dining room was a treat.

Annette, my hostess, was warmth and courtesy itself. She went out of her way to help and i greatly appreciated her friendliness. I had a heater in my room, which solved the problem of a sudden downturn in the weather. The shower in my room was hard to operate. But such a charming, period place. I'd recommend it strongly

The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. I was very happy. The staff was friendly and eager to please. The wi-fi left a little to be desired though. There were a few delays in accessing it and then service was sometimes slow, but it was really all I needed. There is also on street parking in the area, but I didn't really have to use it for my stay. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. We had fruit and pumpkin bread with OJ, coffee and tea. And then another plate appeared with a variety of foods. It was great way to start my day's adventures. The guests were pretty friendly as well, so a little morning conversation was really nice. One caveat: I took that particular room for the fireplace, and as the day's weather was changeable, I tried to put it on my first night, but couldn't get it to light. I asked the next morning why, and I was advised the gas was turned off due to the recently warm days. The gas was turned on and I was able to enjoy the fireplace the next night. So, if you want use of the fireplace, I'd just ask as soon as you check in. I highly recommend this spot and would return again in a heartbeat. It was exactly what I was looking for and had a wonderful 2 nights.

Great stay. Owners were super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing. Hosts offered to make French toast for my nephew after he finished his meal. I joined in on that and it was amazing. On trolley line. Stop is basically in front of B&B. Quiet neighborhood. Definitely stay there next time in Philly.

The owners are very responsive and helpful. My parents and I stayed 3 nights. We loved that they supplied cold water bottles and complementary wine. One morning we had to leave earlier than breakfast time and they had "to go" bags waiting for us. The other 2 mornings we enjoyed the hot breakfast made to order. The owners are from the Philippines and made some waffles that were inspired by their country. So unique and delicious! They helped me navigate the trolley system and recommended local restaurants for dinner. The Gables is very conveniently located in a safe neighborhood and off-street parking is available. I loved all the woodwork in the home.

Excellent stay and will be my hotel of choice when I come to Philly. Amazing service; they did my laundry which I needed after two weeks abroad for work. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are very comfortable and homey. Neighborhood is safe and walkable. So much more enjoyable than a corporate hotel and at a competitive cost. Give something different a try!

This is a historic b & b, so it doesn't have all of the amenities of a larger chain. We found it to be a charming, fun stay. There's a trolley stop right on the corner, so getting to the historic district of Philadelphia is super easy.

The Gables is beautiful and done so well. We were welcomed warmly, shown to our room which was very comfortable, and enjoyed sitting in one of the parlors. It is such a beautiful B&B. Loved this place. First time at a B&B and loved the experience. We came for a mini babymoon. So much more personal than a hotel. The breakfast was delicious and they accommodated my lactose intolerance for every breakfast. It’s near a cute park that we enjoyed for morning walks. If given the chance we will definitely come back. Thank you for such an enjoyable babymoon!

We had a wonderful stay at the Gables. Checking in was smooth and easy. The house and our room were delightful - wonderful decor and very comfortable. The neighborhood was great to explore on foot. Fabulous property with authentic Victorian decor and furnishings. Comfortable, quiet and the breakfasts are generous and delicious! There were some minor repairs needed but that’s normal for older properties. The hosts are what made my stay special. They treat customers with dignity and are very accommodating. Staff was amazing! They go above and beyond to keep the authenticity of the Victorian Mansion turned Bed & Breakfast. The rooms are kept with their Victorian feel, the bed was comfortable, water pressure great, individual ac units in each room. This is not a typical hotel. If you know that going in, everything about it is wonderful!
