Property is lovely, very beautiful. We booked and paid through Hotels.com. Specifically said it was our honeymoon. On arrival, no mention of the honeymoon, just asked how we wanted to pay. Explained it was all paid for already and told those rooms couldn’t be paid for in advance. Eventually told by another member of staff we could be shown to our room and they would sort it out There were ants in our room - in the shower in the bathroom and on the headboard of the bed. The man who came with ant powder didn’t sound surprised. We were offered to change room. New room was nice, but not what we booked and significantly smaller. Dinner in the Mill was good. Food delicious and staff extremely nice. One or two bugs flying around in here too though, and cobwebs etc. Appreciate it is an old building, but would expect for it to be cleaned regularly. Breakfast was lovely. Staff on the second morning not the best - served wrong type of coffee and served hot chocolate in a tall glass with no handle and a paper straw. Spa was beautiful. The copper baths experience was gorgeous, as was the spa treatment. Would definitely come back to the spa. Overall, a nice experience. Cleanliness needs addressing. Staff very nice and polite, but standard of service is not what you would expect for the price paid and the type of property. We often felt forgotten about.
