This place is so authentic. It was a true gem of a Japanese experience for our family. We loved everything about it: hospitality, clean rooms, beautiful views, natural spring style onsens… Highly recommend!

The building is very old, but you can feel the effort put into keeping it clean and tidy. The staff provided polite and attentive service without being overbearing. Above all, the hot spring is wonderful. The bath on the first floor was too hot for me, so I used the one on the fifth floor instead, and enjoyed a refreshing soak in the morning. The quality of the water is undoubtedly among the best in Japan. This place is not for those expecting the hospitality of a luxury hotel or clean, brand-new facilities. It’s perfect for those who want to enjoy a rustic, unpretentious ryokan with an excellent hot spring. There are no breakfast spots nearby, so if you’re staying without meals, I recommend the soba shop inside Togura Station.

昔風情の感じを置いておくのはすごく意味合いがあってよかったけれども、シャワーの水圧があまりにも低すぎて体がうまく洗えなかった。頭がうまく洗えなかったのがすごく心残りです。スタッフの方と日本人の方に対応してもらいましたが、お二人とも非常に感じの良い方でした。お世話になりました
