Super 8 by Wyndham Benton Harbor St Joseph

They said it was continental breakfast no breakfast also said that it had laundry facilities I was there for a week stay and I had to go to the laundromat

We stayed one night as we were passing through the area. Wish it had a elevator. The room was smaller but adequate. They did not offer a hot breakfast and we saw no place for breakfast. The hotel is not right in a shopping area or super close to the beaches.

Nice value stay right on I94. Plenty of free parking. Pleasant desk staff. Room was very clean. Only oversight was we had requested a first floor room but given one on third floor with no elevator. For older or handicapped people that could be an issue. Still, a decent value for what it was in these times.

Only issue was there was a sign for a laundry room but we couldn't find one. Other than that hotel was clean and comfortable.

The staff was wonderful loved them, but no elevator! Everything was really old. There was no plug for the bath tub hidden refrigerator. It just really needs an upgrade but for the price to get what you pay for.

The room was clean and updated. The parking lot was freshly paved/painted. The hallway is left to be updated with removal of dirty shag carpet. The staff friendly and accommodating. Elevator would be nice. Vending machine was empty except for one drink option. The continental breakfast is minimal basically mini muffins and juices/coffee.

First of all there is no elevator and my room was on an upper floor. Hauling my luggage upstairs is not my idea of a good time. My room was clean and the bed is great. The exterior is next to a truck stop which doesn't bode well for safety, especially for women traveling alone.

No elevator and 3 floors was rough. Outdated a little but not too bad.

Likes:plenty of parking, near Wendys & gas station. Bottled water provided at check in. Great air conditioning. Dislikes: smell of cigarette smoke in non smoking room & in the lobby, Table in the room had an imprint of a glass bottom with sticky contents & finger nail cuttings(2) . It was not wiped clean from a previous guest cause it was much better after i cleaned it..

Carts are needed to move luggage from the car to the room.

I did not like anything about the property! It was not clean and the hotel room is really nasty, and the hallways smell really bad! in the rooms was very dirty and not sanitized and cleaned good!

Rooms door was open upon arrival. Bathroom was dirty. Hotel need an upgrade.

Air conditioning was inadequate, the room was inadequate and bathroom was not clean.

The walk into the motel was sketchy, therr were two rough looking men outside sitting on curb about 10ft from the entrance openly drinking and smoking. When inside the smell of cleaning fluids and burnt food knocked us down when we walked in . The place was run down and not clean. Hall carpet was disgusting. When we opened our room it smelled heavy of cigar smoke and the bed also smelled. We imediately went to front desk to leave. We asked for a refund and were told we have to go thru expedia.

The room we were assigned was very dirty... left over garbage on the floor from the previous guests, dirty tub and shower wall. The floor was absolutely disgusting. Staff was friendly though.

Found lots of short dark hairs on the sheets in one made, and hair on the bathroom floor.

Newly remodeled. Clean room. Hallways not so clean. Quiet for a truck stop next door.

Very stuffy feeling in room especially when a/c turns off. Toilet was already clogged upon arrival and man at desk had to plunge it for us. He did not appear very happy or willing to do it however. Lots of little crumbs in the corners by the fridge as well. Would never stay here for any rate over 100/night. Its honestly worth barely 75.

This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever seen. Could not understand the front desk attendant Bathroom had something splattered all over the walls Bathtub was creaking and popping-I was afraid I was going to break it even more than it already was Sheets had stains on them..black hair also Dirt and dust along the perimeter of the floor

Air conditioning would barely get the room even mildly cool. Walls were dirty, chair was stained. Bed was clean but the air conditioning not working hardly at all made it a long night.

The employees were great. The tv only had about 6 regular channels that's it. The floors are all tile throughout, but theirs no rugs in the rooms and it's winter. And lastly they really don't have breakfast they have a grain bar and a juice machine. BUT LIKE I SAID THE EMPLOYEES ARE GREAT!

Our queen beds were HIGH off the ground. One of us with a bad hip couldn’t possibly get in a bed that high. I called front desk and was told all beds are the same. Staff brought us a 2-step folding ladder from maintenance (paint splatters and all) which we used but was very inconvenient.

Great hotel, newly renovated rooms, quite nice at a great price.

I have to comment on how comfortable my bed was- amazingly comfy!! Room was clean.

The clerk couldn’t find my dad’s reservation. Our room was hot for a long while after we got there. The shower knob was broken and the shower curtain was not clean.

Filthy bathroom wall and hall carpets. TV was only an analogue with a lot of static.

The shower in the bathroom was completely broken. Water coming from everywhere. Couldnt hardly turn the knob to turn on or off the water. No hair dryer as well which most hotels have one. Other people hair in the shower and dirty walls and shelfs in the shower as well. Extremely high beds making it hard getting in and out. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. The sound you can hear from the truck station next door was horrible. All night long.

I'm a night nurse and reserved a room to sleep for the day before I went back into work. I called ahead and explained, and the guy who checked me in remembered me from our phone conversation so checking in was no issue. The room was newly renovated and looked amazing for a lower-cost hotel. If you're looking for an affordable option, stay here. It was very very nice.

I began my stay at the Super 8 on New Years Eve and stayed for 5 nights ... The rooms were very clean and smelled good. Everything was great. The gentleman at the Front Desk was polite and friendly and not only was he accommodating to our needs he was understanding about our situation and worked with me when he didn't have to. Thank You for that, it definitely made an impression and I will certainly stay here again! The only thing I struggle with is the daily pet fee at $30/day. I understand the need and enforcement of the fee; and I appreciate what I experienced in regards to my experience with a pet, however the rate adds up on top of room fees especially when you stay multiple nights in a row. Maybe consider a discounted or weekly rate for guests staying more then a day or two.. Thank You for everything, you were amazing and I look forward to staying hereagain.

Advertised breakfast, there was nothing but OJ or OJ. Could barely understand the staff at front desk and was not all that friendly.

The staff was exceptional. Personally escorted us to our room when our key wouldn't work and then immediately, without hesitation, changed our rooms when our a/c didn't work. Room was very nice and clean. The ONLY issue we had was the smell of curry every time we entered the hotel.

The receptionist was very kind, friendly, and hospitable. He gave me bottle water as soon as I was done checking in and was smiling at me which was really awesome. There was free breakfast the following morning. And its location is strategic. And your rate is affordable. You guys are the best. Please keep the good work!

Fantastic stay with the best service we’ve had our entire trip. We were welcomed with two bottles of water and two pepsi, and check in was quick. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were nice and clean. The coffee and juice in the morning were nice additions. They had a decaf option unlike most places we’ve stayed. A couple things to note is the lack of elevators and the constant sound from the pilot truck stop next door but neither of those were big problems.

Took part of luggage to our jeep at 7 a.m. and went back for the rest but room key wouldn't work, not activated. No one at front desk or answering the phone till after 8:00! Not even an apology for the inconvenience of having to sit in the office for over an hour waiting. Attendant finally answered the 3rd phone call and came out of the employee room to the front desk and activated the key.

The customer service was horrible after I ordered three rooms and pay for it full. In order to get my rooms I had to pay the manager $100 in cash or else he was not gonna let me get my rooms. I feel like I was racially profiled against And I will never go back there again and I will never recommend that place to anyone at all. And then have enough nerves to say it’s a lot of y’all gonna leave my room nasty actually we left the room cleaner was when we went in there and stink the floor was dirty , the tub was dirty. It was just overall filthy. The towels was dirty. I had to go to Walmart and buy us washcloths and towels. Just the shower cause there’s dirty. The manager of the resident workers was very rude and obnoxious just rude . we traveled all the way from Ohio to Michigan just have to wait another hour and a half for this man to decide if he was gonna give us a room that was already paid for for extra hundred dollars he charged me in cash and One give me no receipt for the extra hundred dollars.

We really enjoyed our stay. A great room for the price. The gentleman checking us in was very friendly and helpful. We got checked right in with no issue. The room was clean and exactly what we needed. We also noted the colorful lights on the outside of the building at night and they look really nice. 👍

My check-in was a disaster. First I couldn't start to check-in until 7pm because there was no electricity so we had to come back. When my husband come back after we had already been there twice before at 7 they let him check in to 1 room but not the other. So i had to stop cooking with family and drive all the way back to the hotel. Now we had already been there twice he talked to us face to face so he knows we got rooms, I even sent my ID via message for my husband to check in that room too and he said no. I get there all he did was look at my ID and started checkig me in, now it time to run the card again and he tried taking the WHOLE amount for both rooms so it declined and locked. We had to get on the phone with the card people and they needed them to send a letterhead email with some information to fix the card to be used/unlocked. They didnt understand nothing that was going on and then said he didnt take any money the first check-in but the card people confirmed they took the money and tried to do it again and the card got flagged and locked. So its the Holiday, there are no other reasonable rooms available in the area, the hotel want more money or no room and the card we have is locked, DISASTER! So we had to gather money to pay them for one room in which they have already took more than what they supposed to, DISASTER! Finally after 2 hours we are checked in to both rooms. Didnt go directly in until after my family festivities and the rooms was NOT cleaned properly.

I was a bit worried when I first arrived when I saw that the motel was in the parking lot of a truck stop. But the room was very clean and it was very quiet.

We didn’t even check in because it didn’t feel safe for me and my friend. We didn’t arrive until 4:13pm and didn’t even go in because it scared us so bad!!! The neighborhood was across from a shady truck stop. No cars in the parking lot. Felt like a bad movie for two senior woman to stay. I tried to get a refund but the hotel would not negotiate with my Expedia. I will never go to another Super 8 by Wyndham AGAIN!!

Everything was clean and in good working order. Area around the motel fronts the interstate and looks like they just finished working on it -- not necessarily the motel's fault, just looks messy. Not much nearby, you have to drive to get to much, but if you're just getting off the interstate for the night, there's enough right next door to eat, gas up, and get back on the road.

Right next to a 24 hr truck stop playing music ALL NIGHT. Hotel needs updated. The chair in my room was gross, stained... Windows are so old.

The property is tucked between a major highway and a truck stop with a drive-thru restaurant. I was concerned that it would be very noisy in the room but it wasn't.

Nice place to stay with very comfortable bed and new AC. Some construction near the hotel made it a little hard to find but once inside it was nice. Very convenient to lots of restaurants, movie house etc on nearby exit.

Very convenient location and the room was very quiet - could NOT hear the highway traffic just across the parking lot!

Great hotel for the price. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was just muffins,coffee and apple juice which was fine but I wish they had orange juice also, that’s all my husband drinks in the morning. Would definitely return.

The beds were nice size. They need to remove the carpet in the hallway. The breakfast need to improve with more hot food. They don't have a Swimming pool or fitness center.

The room was pretty clean but amenities were a bit lacking. They had a "hidden" mini fridge, a small TV and a hanger rack but no closet. We stayed on the first floor; we could hear the footsteps and movement from the floor above which was not pleasant. Although the room was a no smoking room, as it appeared most of the rooms on our floor was, it always smelled like smoke when we entered the hallway to the room. They provided coffee and juice in the morning and the staff was pleasant.

The carpet on stairs unclean looking. Dust built up in edges/corners. Breakfast was muffins and juice.
