Seaport Village Inn, Avalon

Great place for the price. Close to everything needed. Friendly staff. Less then expected dining utelnsils cups and bowls. Hot tub came im handy after swimming in the frozen ocean.

The shuttle was great. The rooms were ready. The free coffee and tea. Jacuzzi was awesome. They were so helpful in any way. It was located 5 mins from everything. Super clean. Great view. The cornhole boards, lawn chairs and picnic tables were awesome. Definitely coming back with my kids.

Not aware of NO Shuttle service for guest, only luggage. No breakfast, waffles or continental and only coffee (I drink tea) Air condition mounted on the lower level of the wall, hitting guest directly. Had to ask for hair blower, the only extra amenity was the whirlpool available. To be "CHARGED" for RESORT FEE, is a RIP OFF, a bogus lie. Hotel service was very good, helpful and accommodateing as possible.

We got lucky with a great view! Place is outdated but the location, jacuzzi and service balanced out the room. If you are looking for somewhere to just sleep at this is the perfect place! If you book through the hotel website they will pick you up from the ferry!!

This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at for >$200 per night. Smelled like mold, furniture from the 60s, sinks, toilet, kitchen, everything was just plain awful. Not worth saving a few bucks. Pay more and avoid at all costs. Never ever going back. Oh and if you decide to check in early for $20 they’ll tack on a $30 resort fee!!

The hotel is in a great area and you can walk to everything. The property is older and could really use some updating. The staff that you come in contact with are all nice. They have signs to text them for service, we never got assistance doing so and had to follow up with phone calls. They will pick you up from the ferry if you book through them, but not if you booked through third party. The Avalon area felt safe and was very walkable. Our unit had an amazing view & a kitchen which was nice to be able to keep some food on hand. For sure would visit again

I was surprised how large my room was. It also had a balcony and jetted tub. The hot tub on the property and the grassy area was also very nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is an older property, so if you like very new and modern this is not the one to pick. If you like a bit of history, it is perfect. Also if you have problems walking up hill this is not a good property. It does have a shuttle bus, but it only runs to the boat dock. When you are coming in on the boat you should call the hotel and let then know when to pick you up, because they do not wait in the lot by the boat like some other hotel shuttles.

Great staff. Shuttle service was fantastic, especially for lugging gear from the dive park. Near to swimming beaches, shopping and restaurants.

The hot tub is in a weird geodesic bubble thing and has inconvenient hours.

The only pros of this hotel is that the staff was very kind and friendly and it is in a good location to the main streets of Avalon. Besides that Disgusting hotel…where do I even begin? To start, you get charged a $15 a day “resort” fee upon arrival. For what, I have no idea. When I walked to the door of my room, it looked like someone tried to kick in, which is always a good sign. When I walked inside our room, I was shocked. Every possible thing that could be broken was broken. The outlets spark, the dishwasher was broken, the TV was broken, the Murphy bed was broken. The room is disgusting and dirty, the bathroom has tile and pieces of wall falling off. The “resort” has the nerve to ask to tip the housekeeping when the room appears to have never been cleaned. The bedroom has lamps plugged into no outlets that do not work. The A/C doesn’t work, the WiFi doesn’t work. There has been NO upkeep in this resort; this place is laughable. DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give it a negative star review, I would. Stay somewhere else, I beg of you.

We had reserved two rooms. One room had a dirty diaper in the middle of the floor. Room hadn't been cleaned. Second room had a downstairs neighbor playing music so loud our room was shaking. Hotel office closed at 6pm and they didn't answer the after hours phone number. No one on-site or available by phone/text to help. It's been 3 days and hotel still hasn't returned my calls or emails to make it right. STAY AWAY. I have pics and videos to prove this.

To check in early I paid $50, Which is understandable except…when we got to our room, there was plywood near entrance steps and caution cone. Then entrance door was Arcadia door we opened with a key. That Arcadia door looked like it had tint that needed to be redone. Actually all the windows were like that. Got out of the shower and just walked around the room for less than a minute my feet were black from the floor. I had to wash my feet and make sure my shoes were on at all times. The bed had a mattress with spring that may have been comfortable in the 80’s. Made sounds every time you moved. No blow dryer in the room.

The room we stayed had a great view and the place was convenient, close to the beach and restaurants, however the maintenance and cleanliness wasn’t the best. Our toilet had a weird loud noise the whole time of our stay and the room wasn’t very clean at all. they closed front desk early so there was no one to call … no the place we expected when we booked

I found cockroach in the room

No food options at property. No hair dryer or iron. Had a kitchenette but no towels for it. Dirty floor with sand on it, spider webs in the windows, TV control didn’t work, hard beds. Desperately needs renovation, tub is an old huge square jacuzzi. Location was good and area quiet.

As reported in other reviews, mold is everywhere in the bathroom and hair is found all over the room including on towels. I read the other reviews prior to visit thankfully, I was prepared. Brought my own towels and a sleeping bag, which was a big save. Cleaning of the room is highly questionable, which is a big shame as the area is super nice.

Absolutely disgusting. Body hair in the bathtub and sheets. I can’t even believe this place is allowed to take reservations.

The rooms aren’t that clean. Bugs were found in the washroom area. Checkout time at 10 am very early and to top it off the staff wasn’t flexible… Not happy

The front desk staff was nice and accommodating. The room and the hotel itself really run down. The room was dirty. The bathroom toilet was dirty and after seeing that I questioned were the linens changed. Unpon further investigation of the room, curtains had stains, linens were dusty, no soad to wash hands had to use dish soap. I took pictures but it wont let me share them.

Worst stay ever. Upon arrival we were given a room that was falling apart literally. It smell like smoke and infestation. Run down not kept up at all roaches in the rooms, paint pilling off wall, mold in the bathroom walls, the next room they gave us the front door was damage but it seem cleaner however once inside the window was broken unable to open, the sky light was cracked paint was chipping, the bathroom shower you had a choice of cold or hot not in between. Once we fell a sleep the bugs came out I was awaken by roaches on my arm and my pillow. Worst stay ever. I do not recommend this hotel.

Looks like they tried to renovate and update the space but it is lacking something. *AC works well, bed is comfy. *Bathrooms needs an overhaul. *Film on sliding door/entrance door needs to be updated. *Staff works really hard with what they have available. *Since this is a location a bit away from town, they would do really well if they offered food/nightly music/snacks&drinks for guests.

This place needs a renovation. There wasn't an A/C in the master bedroom, and the only A/C in the living room is very noise. The overall condition of this hotel is like a motel. very disappointed other than closed to the central place.

This is a dated property and in need of repairs. The location is a bit far from things but it really is only a few minutes from the center of things. The staff is very helpful, nice, informative and friendly. The rooms are much larger than what other hotels have to offer. However our room (105) has the bedroom away from the A/C and was therefore a bit warm. Opening the slider was not an option...no screen and opens right to the street out front so there's no privacy. I liked the fact that we had a full kitchen.

We had a wonderful stay in Avalon. For this property- Pros- great location, staff was awesome and would drive us to places if needed, great view, large suites with kitchens and 3 beds, great price for the island Cons- the property is pretty outdated and had some maintenance issues (but the management compensated us for the issues)

Great location. Hotel is rustic, not luxurious. Room decor is dated. Reserved a deluxe ocean view room, but there was no view of the ocean from room 301.

The room rate was appropriate for the accommodations. We booked on a very last minute whim to go to Catalina. They accommodated our schedule. The room was fine for a one night stay. It was clean, had coffee and a nice view from the porch. It also had air conditioning which some places do not have on the island.

It was very bright in the room, which made for poor sleeping conditions in the morning. Inadequate coverings for the windows, and there was a skylight into the bedroom. Air conditioning also cycled on and off at frequent intervals and was noisy.

Just ok. The room felt like a dungeon with no windows, cold tile floors next to the office.

Seems like there were condos at some point in the past....the room we were in was in need of update and repair. Broken blinds, floor was a mess ...only one window a/c in front room...no ac in the bedroom. The stove was from the 70's! Service was great...front desk was very helpful in allowing us to store our luggage before our room was ready and after we checked out waiting for the ferry to get home.

Very run down. This place needs a major makeover. Air conditioning leaks water and our ceiling had water pockets everywhere. Our balcony was constantly wet from other leaks. Floors were stained bad and walls looked like they had a flood. Lobby worker was more focused on their phone than helping anyone. The positives were location and quiet.

This was the best choice for our anniversary trip! We were “Guest of the day” and got an upgraded room and early check in/check out which was so nice. It is a very clean place and the staff was so kind and gave us some great suggestions for things to do. We will be staying here again on our next trips to the island no doubt.

Jazmin was super at the front desk, kind, helpful and considerate as she anticipated my traveling needs. Carlos was epic in getting me to and from the ship and Casino area, Carlos went out of his way to ensure my transportation needs, I am not easy to deal with but Carlos was respectful, and accommodating. Under new management, and everyone was plundered🙏Thsnk you for a wonderful stay’

Our stay was wonderful! Room was very clean and adorable and I can't say enough good things about the staff. Every single person we talked to was so helpful and friendly... Seamless ride back and forth from the dock... Always greeted with friendly warm smiles! Beautiful area... Secluded but just steps away from everything! Hopefully we can come back to Catalina and if we do we will definitely stay here again! Thanks for making our visit so enjoyable!

Super cool staff and I was chosen as the guest of the week and got a free upgrade, which is bigger than the apartment I live in here in Newport beach. The staff is super helpful and we will definitely be staying there again.

They pick your luggage up at the dock when you arrive and that I like. We arrived early so they hold your luggage until it’s time to check in. In talking to the clerk at the desk I was asking about making sure our rooms were next to each other as we had kids that would be wanting to go back and forth. She was able to arrange it for us. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed here before and some of the rooms needed to be updated back then and I was sad to see they hadn’t been done. There is lots of chipped or broken tiles in the kitchen. There was no oven rack in the oven and a dirty plate in it. It only had one small pan and pot, 2 plates, a couple bowls and a couple utensils. Also, the dishwasher, light in the living room, and fan in the kitchen didn’t work. The slider for my room didn’t lock and neither did the door for our other room. So I didn’t get much sleep. At night whoever had the room behind ours had music blaring and could hear it all through the bathroom wall. They have changed owners and I hope they fix some things in the rooms. I really didn’t like that they no longer take your luggage back to the dock when you leave. So we had to get a taxi for $25.00 to take it all. If it weren’t for the staff I would have gone somewhere else. I am going back next month and not sure if I would stay there again

They had one of the best hotel staff I have ever met. Yes it’s a bit outdated but the rooms are huge and have a good amount of space which is a huge plus. I have stayed in other places in the island and maybe it’s not the most up-kept the you’ll be grateful for the staff and the size of your room.

The hotel staff was very accommodating and provided excellent customer service. The hotel has everything you need and rooms are nice and clean, basic, nothing fancy, good conditions.

This was booked sight unseen. Expedia had good ratings for it, however in my opinion, not what Expedia rated. Great views. Quite. A bit of a walk from the dock.

Got an upgrade and really enjoyed the suite. All rooms have a great view and easy walking access to everything, though the street's incline may deter older and less fit individuals. Super easy access to the chimes tower and even better views than the hotel. Staff was wonderful. Uploaded image was from our balcony. Will stay here again!

I travel alone so It’s ok only for 1 person because the room it’s so little ..the location it’s extremely convenience close to everything walking 5-10 min depends , front desk - staff super nice and friendly ..

Very cute little spot. Can comfortably fit 3 people (2 bed, 1 couch). From the Catalina express terminal, it’s about a 7-8 minute walk, then 3-4 minute walk to the main town. Very close to everything.

This is a lovely property in a mixed state of maintenance. The staff were friendly and helpful and were eager and ready to make our stay pleasant. The location is great, close to everything but just out of the bustle. The easy access to the Casino dive park was a plus. Our room seemed to be recently put into service and was adjacent to an area that is under construction or awaiting work. We would happily stay there again, but we’d be sure to book one of the better rooms.

I got the room with 1 queen bed and 1 McMurphy bed. Everything was fine except the comfort of the McMurphy bed, very hard to sleep in. Otherwise, the area is nice and peaceful, plenty of room to lounge and enjoy the view of city and part of the port of Avalon. There's coffee, hot water, fruit, tea and donuts in the morning.

I liked that they have complimentary food all day

From the looks of the photos online it looked like it had been built in the 80s and so i was looking forward to interior features from the 80s and this hotel did not dissapoint. From the brown tile in the bathroom to the 30 year old refrigerator and the bamboo and dark wood ceiling fan it just screamed that it has not once been updated since its construction in 1983. If you love vintage this is the hotel for you. The view of avalon bay was great as well. The lobby coffee got great reviews from my friends and there is a nice grassy area with cornhole and a picnic table. The front desk girl was very nice as well.
