Holiday Inn Express Visalia-Sequoia Gateway Area by IHG

I am writing to report a very disappointing experience at your property located at 5625 W. Cypress Ave., Visalia, CA. Although our stay was a few weeks ago, I feel it is important to share our experience so other guests are aware. Upon arrival, the toilet in our room was dirty. Both of my toddler daughters urgently needed to use the bathroom, so I had to clean it myself. I notified the front desk, and a housekeeper named Lina arrived carrying only a white towel. By then, I had already cleaned the toilet and declined the service. Things got worse when we took our daughters to the pool. The water was GREEN and looked disgusting. My children immediately questioned why the water was green and refused to swim. When we asked the front desk, the employee admitted she had not even looked at the pool and said someone had supposedly added chemicals. This did nothing to reassure us about the pool’s condition. We immediately requested a refund and left. Thankfully, we received our money back, but this experience was unacceptable. A dirty bathroom, a visibly unclean pool, and an unhelpful response from staff are not what guests should expect from a hotel. The online pictures were misleading compared to the actual conditions. I am extremely disappointed, especially as a parent traveling with young children. I ask corporate to investigate this property’s housekeeping standards, pool maintenance, and staff response. We stayed here for a family wedding. I called to get an early check in and I got that, which I really appreciated. The only little complaint was that there was no water cups in our room. Our families room didn’t have any either.

Clean room and having Boomers across the street was great for the kids,
