The hotel is above a strip plaza. The reception is on first level then you take stairs to second floor where the rooms are. The carpet is stained in hallways. The rooms however are very clean and modern. My bed was comfortable but the twin bed was not. Overal if you are looking for a place to sleep I highly recommend this hotel.

Plenty of parking, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and responsive. The only issue was that i could hear nearby traffic coming from the highway.

We stayed at Amber Hotel in Grand Bend Beach for two nights and paid over $600—but what we experienced was far from what you’d expect at that price point. The room was dirty and poorly maintained. There was visible dust, stains, and dirt in multiple areas. The soap dispenser was filthy, and the hairdryer was dusty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The bathroom had yellow stains, poorly patched caulking, and a general feeling of neglect. What shocked us most was that we found an insect that looked like a bed bug on the bed the first night. We took a photo and killed it immediately. That alone made the stay extremely uncomfortable. (Photo attached if you’re able to upload it on the review platform.) On top of everything, no housekeeping service came during our stay—no fresh towels, no cleaning, nothing. That’s unacceptable for a hotel at this price level. It honestly felt more like a low-end motel than a proper hotel. We were very dissatisfied and would not return or recommend this place. Amber Hotel needs a serious deep cleaning and better management before charging guests this kind of money.

This hotel is very dirty. The hallway looks like a crime scene with stains absolutely everywhere. The rooms are very very small. To make it a 2-bedroom they just throw in a portable single bed. The bathroom was gross with hair on the walls and a disgusting soap dispenser. There wasn't even a shelf for your toiletries in the tiny tiny bathroom. The beds were very cheap and uncomfortable. No chair to sit and have coffee. Almost never anybody at the front desk and late check-in's aren't even an option. Everything about this hotel is cheap and dirty! We booked/paid two nights but left after the first night!

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I liked the lounge area. You should be able to check in before 10pm, not 8:00pm like it says in the app. The location was convenient.

The property isn’t well kept, the hallways aren’t vacuumed and the room aren’t the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The bathrooms leave something to be desired. The fan in our bathroom didn’t work and you could tell it hadn’t been working for a long time as the paint is starting to peel, the grout in the bathroom is growing mold, and when we asked for extra towels we didn’t receive them.

Check out was to be 11am, after checking in and paying we were told we’d need to check out by 10am as they had a large group coming in. Hotel has a strong unpleasant smell. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Desk greeter was friendly and helpful. The two flights of stairs were a little more than I anticipated but I had hip surgery less than a year ago. Outside our window were a flight of wooden stairs (looked out at back of building) and one morning at 5:30am I believe it was a delivery man with heavy boots was going up and down the stairs till about 6:00 am. Otherwise noise was not a problem at all.

The hotel was just average. What was completely weird was that our room and half of the other rooms were missing the boxsprings that goes with the beds. We had a king size mattress that was placed directly on the frame of the bed about 6 inches off the floor. Other rooms that we walked past down the hallway, had boxsprings though?

Nice budget hotel for visiting grand bend. The hotel is sparse and not fancy but fairly clean. The ice maker was out of order and there was no fan in the bathroom - these were my only minor complaints. And the bed frame was very sharp, I banged my knee on it pretty badly. But I am very clumsy. The location is decent if you plan to drive to the beach and park there. Bed was comfy. View from the window is some trees and a dumpster. But it was fine. We were only there for sleeping so it did the job.

It started off alright, not much to look at when driving up, but clean when entered lobby. Check in was uncomfortable, and no empathy when explained parking situation, it was more of a command and direction as to where car had to be moved to instead of an explanation and request to accommodate other building tenants. After explaining a concern of the comfort of the bed the 1st night I was told that I was the only guest to ever complain and nothing could be done. Entering and leaving the premises wasn't friendly, and even being told the house rules was very demanding instead of explanatory. I believe if someone doesn't want to repeat the same thing to each guest checking in they should find other carriers instead of making a guest feel like they have been told something multiple times the 1st time. Price wasn't that great or much cheaper than other hotels with better location and facilities. Before booking here I would recommend looking at other locations in the area and weighing your budget against your weekend expectations and value for your hard earned money.

Owner and his daughter at reception has a very poor customer service, got there from a long drive a bit earlier than the check in time, this guy appears saying nothing but come at 3pm, not one word of reception or anything, rude and arrogant on hospitality wise, room was ok, although windows dirty and full of spider webs on the outside. Got the room for a night, check out was told by 11:00 am, although by 9am this owner/ manager with his loud voice already talking on the corridor waking me up cleaning the other rooms as customers started to leave. I went to a few other hotels to compare prices and they were pretty much the same or cheaper. Not gonna come back, I’d still rather drive back t 2:30 hours other than staying at this same hotel if I had to.

Never made the bed once in a 3 night stay. One night we couldn't get in when the key card didnt work at the front door, no body at front desk ever, had to ring bell and wait for someone to let us in only to get attitude cause they were inconvenienced. Very poor hospitality and quality of products in room.

We were in town for a race event at Grand Bend Motorplex. The hotel was conveniently close to the racetrack as well as a variety of local dining options. We stayed in a family suite which had 2 bedrooms, a living room (with couch / bed), kitchen and bathroom. — so lots of space for the 3 of us. The staff were friendly. Overall it was a great stay.

The hotel is above a strip plaza. The reception is on first level then you take stairs to second floor where the rooms are. The carpet is stained in hallways. The rooms however are very clean and modern. My bed was comfortable but the twin bed was not. Overal if you are looking for a place to sleep I highly recommend this hotel.

About 10-15 minute walk to main beach. We had Premium King room overlooking the unkept dumpster area. AC did not work. Hallway was hot. Every day some kind of bread was made and laid out on a sheet on the floor in the communal room, stinky and classless (hotel does NOT have food service so must be for family as we think they live in the building). Staff seemed uninterested in us as guests. Room has mini frig but it clicks all the time. Microwave and ice machine in communal room, if you can get around the drying bread stuff on floor. Room darkens well from sunrise though. Pizza place next door has very nice staff. Unfortunately we would not stay here again.
