Very nice pub with rooms, clean and comfortable beds, food great, only issue for me was breakfast not starting until 8.30, i understand that's great if you are on holiday, but not for business traveller. apart from that great, will check breakfast times in future before booking.

Lovely place to stay. Very clean room with plenty of space and comfy bed. The food in the pub was great quality and the staff were welcoming and accomodating to our four legged friend. Cosy pub with open fire.

I will definitely stay again. The staff were friendly. 4 handpumps of real ale, and the food was excellent, and decent size portions.

Really lovely friendly helpful staff and great breakfast. Comfy bed, big room, good shower, everything we needed. Chatty locals at the bar! Beautiful location we just didn’t have long enough to make the most of it. Another time…

Dog friendly Inn, great food, ample portions and cooked with good quality ingredients. Very homely, with friendly helpful staff. Central to villages, towns and forests. Listed building with many original features. Free roaming cattle, horses and ponies on the village green. Not 5 star luxury, but extremely comfortable, non-pretensious, and old fashioned. I thoroughly recommend either staying a few days or pop in for dinner - make sure to book.

Lovely picturesque pub with 5 upstairs rooms, with ours having a nice view over the rear garden. Bedroom was very clean and well maintained and bed was very comfortable. Pub and food were good especially the cooked breakfast and the Sunday roast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring the New Forest. Would stay here again

Had an amazing weekend away with my husband and our dog. The room was clean and airy and the food was lovely. Staff were very polite and friendly. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely large room which was comfortable to be in, the bed bedding and pillows are comfortable and clean. The towels are of a good quality however the bathroom was disappointing. The white woodwork/panelling under the shower door was dirty and the skirting around the shower was dirty, disappointing that there was only an overhead shower and not a small hand shower for people that didn’t always wish to wash their hair. The pub downstairs although has a rustic image in my opinion was beyond rustic and pretty neglected in that the dining chairs could do with recovering or replacing most of the tables were okay but were possibly a bit tatty too.

I've stayed here a few times and on each occasion it's been lovely, good rooms, food and beer, all good. On this occasion it wasn't so good, my room seemed to have missed a clean and there were no curtains on one of the main windows. The prices of the food seemed to have increased by a lot, £5.50 for a side of fry's, my two course meal with a beer came to £45, wow. I appreciate that pubs need to make money but when you look at the alternative venues available to stay in there is plenty of choice. Still a nice place to visit.

Lovely position overlooking the small green, with horses and foals, stocks and central tree. Our room was over the bar and we could hear conversation until about 10.30. Breakfast was not available until 8.30 which delayed us but cooked meal was good. Clean and comfrtabke room.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a solo traveler. Check in was super easy even taking the suitcase upstairs😂 had breakfast and dinner here both nights and the food is amazing! Hats off to the chef, food was hot and great portion size no complaints. Now onto the room, it has everything you need hairdryer, fans, heaters, bathroom, bed, dressing table and wardrobe. The beds are comfortable however not to my liking I’m used to a firm mattress and pillow but still had a good sleep. It can get noisy in the morning when they have deliveries and at night around 9pm till closing time but you’re staying in a pub so it was expected. You can still get to sleep alright and once you put the telly on you can hardly hear anything. Some of the other guests could have been more quieter coming back late at night but oh well. Now onto the views, my room looked out onto the pub garden and it was beautiful. At the front of the property you’d see the horses and cows just roaming freely! I would definitely stay here again.

I was hoping for a lovely country inn weekend experience in the New Forest, while celebrating a birthday with family and friends. This was anything but! It felt like a cheap hostel. A very bright emergency light above the light fitting made the room bright and eery making it very difficult to sleep, compounded with short curtains which let in more light at dawn and very audible noises from the room next door and the kitchen appliances beneath. To be fair the pounding music did stop at around pm, but that did not matter in the end. The room décor was not so much ‘country inn’, more Home Bargains end of line sale, with cheap, rusty fittings that were a bit wobbly, cheap flooring that was an attempt to look like wood but was not even installed correctly and a failing mattress that had no support. In addition, breakfast was really poor. Served ham despite telling the staff I did not eat meat and wanted the veggie alternative (although to be fair even if I did eat meat, I wouldn't eat it). The second pass was barely edible. Access to the rooms from outside was also unsafe as a dodgy door lock was open every time I went downstairs, even late at night. I was exhausted the next day from lack of sleep and had no choice but to cut my stay short and cancel further plans I had. The staff said management would get back to me that day, she couldn’t help, offered no alternative but of course that was fobbing me off, as I heard nothing. I called a few days later to hear some other excuse.

Really comfortable rooms especially the bed. I travel a lot for work and this is one of the most comfortable beds I have found in a hotel. Nice location in the New Forest. Food was great although I did not get to try the breakfast as it did not start until 8.30 which is a bit too late for a business traveller.

Lovely pub and restaurant with well appointed rooms adjoining. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room decor was Scandi-style - very attractive as well as sufficiently comfortable. Lovely view over the garden and beyond to the woods from my room window.

The room décor was not so much ‘country inn’, more Home Bargains end of line sale, with cheap, rusty fittings that were a bit wobbly, cheap flooring that was an attempt to look like wood but was not even installed correctly and a failing mattress that had no support. In addition, breakfast was really poor. Served ham despite telling the staff I did not eat meat and wanted the veggie alternative (although to be fair even if I did eat meat, I wouldn't eat it). The second pass was barely edible. Access to the rooms from outside was also unsafe as a dodgy door lock was open every time I went downstairs, even late at night. I was exhausted the next day from lack of sleep and had no choice but to cut my stay short and cancel further plans I had. The staff said management would get back to me that day, she couldn’t help, offered no alternative but of course that was fobbing me off, as I heard nothing. I called a few days later to hear some other excuse.

Dog friendly Inn, great food, ample portions and cooked with good quality ingredients. Very homely, with friendly helpful staff. Central to villages, towns and forests. Listed building with many original features. Free roaming cattle, horses and ponies on the village green. Not 5 star luxury, but extremely comfortable, non-pretensious, and old fashioned. I thoroughly recommend either staying a few days or pop in for dinner - make sure to book.

Really comfortable rooms especially the bed. I travel a lot for work and this is one of the most comfortable beds I have found in a hotel. Nice location in the New Forest. Food was great although I did not get to try the breakfast as it did not start until 8.30 which is a bit too late for a business traveller.

Lovely picturesque pub with 5 upstairs rooms, with ours having a nice view over the rear garden. Bedroom was very clean and well maintained and bed was very comfortable. Pub and food were good especially the cooked breakfast and the Sunday roast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring the New Forest. Would stay here again

Lovely position overlooking the small green, with horses and foals, stocks and central tree. Our room was over the bar and we could hear conversation until about 10.30. Breakfast was not available until 8.30 which delayed us but cooked meal was good. Clean and comfrtabke room.

Very nice pub with rooms, clean and comfortable beds, food great, only issue for me was breakfast not starting until 8.30, i understand that's great if you are on holiday, but not for business traveller. apart from that great, will check breakfast times in future before booking.

A beautiful setting and a great place to stay. We will definitely be keeping this on our list of preferred places andhope to visit again in the not too distant future. Amazing breakfast set us up for a day of Super Cars at the museum and the New forest is so beautiful at this time of hyear. Thsnks for a great night . Only wish we could have stayed longer.

I was hoping for a lovely country inn weekend experience in the New Forest, while celebrating a birthday with family and friends. This was anything but! It felt like a cheap hostel. A very bright emergency light above the light fitting made the room bright and eery making it very difficult to sleep, compounded with short curtains which let in more light at dawn and very audible noises from the room next door and the kitchen appliances beneath. To be fair the pounding music did stop at around pm, but that did not matter in the end. I've stayed here a few times and on each occasion it's been lovely, good rooms, food and beer, all good. On this occasion it wasn't so good, my room seemed to have missed a clean and there were no curtains on one of the main windows. The prices of the food seemed to have increased by a lot, £5.50 for a side of fry's, my two course meal with a beer came to £45, wow. I appreciate that pubs need to make money but when you look at the alternative venues available to stay in there is plenty of choice. Still a nice place to visit.

Sadly not the best stay. Room not ready on time. Disgusting pillows on bed, no protectors. My room was definitely not Boutique as described, the furniture was sparce to say the least. Extremely noisy radiator in room 5. Disgusting language coming from kitchen beneath my bedroom window. Pillows, radiator and language was addressed, but was sick of having to complain for my short break. Also give the scampi a miss . Staff friendly and helpful, apart from kitchen of course.

Lovely New Forest pub. Very friendly atmosphere. Large clean room, comfy bed, modern bathroom. Very quiet at night. Big breakfast, varied evening meals and excellent beer. New Forest ponies on the green and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's grave two minutes up the road! Excellent value. Really enjoyed our stay, thanks.
