Arenal Paraiso Resort Spa & Thermo Mineral Hot Springs

Genial, locacion, atención del personal, la zona de termales es espectacular, 8 pozos con diferentes tipos de temperatura. Desayuno Excelente, excelente vista al volcan, nos dejaban para hacer café todos los días en la habitación. Este hotel merece más puntaje al que actualmente tiene. Volveríamos sin problema. La cabaña que nos quedamos fue la 108, solo pediría que mejoraran que una cama sonaba. Necesitaba mantenimiento. Es un hotel de 4-5 estrellas.

Travelled in January with my family of 4 adults. The grounds are expansive and beautifully landscaped and maintained. Check in was smooth and friendly, the desk attendant was very helpful and accommodating, he was able to set up a last minute birthday celebration within minutes of us checking in. The 5 thermal pools were beautiful with at least two of them having a great background view of Arenal volcano for great pictures. The swim up pool bar was very fun, Dilan, our bartender made wonderful drinks. The staff was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. This is a moderately priced resort. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Dinner was ok but there were many options.Most of the rooms, including ours, looked like wood cabins and were comfortable with a lovely porch and rocking chairs. The room was large enough to accommodate our 4 adults with 4 beds. The room was comfortable and the bathroom can benefit from an upgrade. The individual cabin style rooms are very private and cozy. Almost too cozy! We like to be woken up by the sounds of the jungle and these rooms with heavy curtains are perfect for sleeping in. It was both a blessing and a curse! I do wish they didn’t use BRIGHT WHITE lights. Soft lighting would have been better, and would go much better with their decor. Having a front glassed in and a back open porch was great to enjoy the mornings…. We actually caught a glimpse of a Howler Monkey going by one morning! The birds we saw from our porch were incredible…. Great Curassows, Macaws, Toucans, Hummingbirds, Parakeets, Falcons, and Montezuma Oropendolas to name a few. The breakfast was surprisingly good and the service was very friendly. We enjoyed the omelette station and fresh fruit for sure. One day they had huevos rancheros that were in a great salsa. We had an hour long massage while there and it was great. You can’t beat the price! Be sure to tip in cash so they don’t have to pay any fees on it. My only complaint is the hot springs are not 24 hours, and don’t open until 10AM. They don’t offer any services to speak of other than towel/locker, so I am uncertain why the hours can’t be better. Also there is nowhere to stash your towel and shoes while in the water. Overall we were extremely happy even with that small criticism.

Our room was a decent size with 2 double beds but unfortunately the walls were paper thin and the 'family' next door were anything but quiet. Luckily for us, on requesting a move to another room, they were able to oblige and Alan, the concierge, was very helpful driving us to and from our old room to the new room and back to reception. Our 'new room was quieter and comfortable. The thermal pools were very enjoyable ranging from hot (around 40c) down in a series of 'fake' rock pools to about 24c. In addition a decent swimming pool and a separate swim up bar which we assume was thermal water as it was at her dark and murky. The staff were all friendly and the food and cocktails were delicious, though we found the food portions on the large side. What would have been nice was some bench seats around the property in order to sit and enjoy the wildlife/birds. Also the sunbeds by the pool were in very poor repair and few in number.

We love to relax at this resort. If you want to just lounge around in the rainforest, this is a great place to do it. The cabins are modest, but the facilities are a little more updated. This resort has everything you need so you don't have to leave if you don't want to. The massages at the spa are amazing. There is a zip lining adventure right in the resort if you want. And the food is great too. Our favorite thing to do is to soak in the mineral pool with the swim up bar for a cocktail and bird watch while getting glimpses of the Volcan Arenal from time to time.

Excellent hotel with beautiful hot spring facilities and friendly staff.

The hotel grounds were pretty but the resort appears to need some upgrades. We lost water several times in our room. Many of the hot springs were not open or filled The hot tub was not open and couldn’t find the sauna.

Arenal Paraíso Resort truly lives up to its name—it’s a paradise! The cabin we stayed in was incredibly spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The views of the surrounding nature and volcano were absolutely breathtaking. One of the highlights of our stay was the variety of Thermo Mineral Hot Springs pools—there were so many to choose from, and they were all so relaxing. There are even areas designed for kids, making it a great spot for families. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. We absolutely loved our time here and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We stayed for 5 nights and loved the location as it was quiet but close enough to drive to La Fortuna and to activities. It was very quiet all the time, which is exactly what we were looking for. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with a view of the volcano too. Not all the hot springs were open and not sure why but the ones that were, were so great. We enjoyed them in the day and after dinner. The pool was refreshing! The breakfast buffet was pretty good and had quite a few vegan options. We did have to ask for soy milk daily but we were glad they had it. We bought some granola at the grocery store and had it with the other items available. We had a superior room and feel this is where the hotel is not doing so great. The rooms are old and tired and really need updated, especially the bathrooms. The chairs on our deck were mouldy and really unusable. The rooms smell musty and are always damp, which isn’t really that surprising since it’s a rainforest but I think some extra cleaning and closing gaps in the doors and windows to outside could help with the dampness and also the bugs. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Overall, our stay was good but we wouldn’t stay here again, especially for how expensive it was.

Amazing landscape and facilities. Super clean and beautiful and very close to every National Park

The room had a smell that wasn’t great. But appeared exceptionally clean! The resort is very big and we unfortunately got put at the farthest unit from all the activity areas…but with that said. The staff was amazing, food was fantastic! And the swim up bar and thermals where awesome

There were bugs all over the bed, hundreds of them. We needed to switch rooms

Bathroom in my unit was not clean when checked in, the walls are paper thin so you can hear conversations in other rooms and the rooms by the front have a lot of highway noise, but the staff is great.

Food was not the best, plus the thermal water pool looked green and murky. It didn’t looked like the other thermal waters around the area. The room was nice but some how not well maintained. I found a spider web around the light next to the bed and bathroom mirror was little dirty on the first day. After that, the lady who cleaned the room did a great job on cleaning the room. The whole facility is beautiful.

The cabin was very comfortable and clean. The resort team was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hot spring pools. The breakfast has a big food section. We will recommend this resort to our friends.

Beads and mattresses were very thin, pillows rock hard and springs were felt through for a terrible few nights sleep. It’s clearly been many many years since mattress and pillows were updated if ever.

We liked our stay in Arenal Paraiso. The lodge was comfortable and had a nice patio with view of Arenal Volcano. We liked to go to thermal springs and a pool after active hikes. The location of this resort is convenient to both Arenal National Park and amenities of La Fortuna.

The people, except at check-in desk, were incredibly friendly, polite and professional. The food was excellent and the bartenders were amazing. The room was small, the TV very small. I could not access an electrical outlet anywhere near the bed. The mattress was firm and comfortable and everything was clean throughout.

Everything needs replacing. Room is old and outdated. Close to highway, will wake up at 5am with the traffic. No available outlets in the room to plug in a CPAP machine. Insects in the room. Walls very thin, can hear all your neighbours. Fridge is leaking on the floor.

No water. Can’t shower. Can’t flush the toilet. No compensation, no credit for food. Nothing. How romantic is it when you can’t flush a toilet? Failing grade from us. Oh… line-up for poor breakfast too. Front desk staff as friendly as a migraine.

The grounds are beautiful and view of the volcano once the clouds cleared was amazing. Great breakfast. Shuttle service in the rain was great. Seemed understaffed however and a few things needed repair.

We were very exited to come to this place . But Randy on the front desk was very rude and unpleasant to talk to . He give us the information about our room and every thing but his attitude toward us was like he was mad to be there . First time come to this hotel and were received in a very disrespectful way and we got a very rude person just to start our stay . No good for business .

The reception is supposed to be 24 hours but they don’t answer you if you call them on What’s app. The staff also doesn’t take into consideration noise complaints. The room next to us had a squeaky pipe sound that was happening for 2 days. I brought the issue up on What’s app but I got ignored. I had to go in person to the reception to talk about it. They still ignored me and didn’t take care of the issue. I didn’t sleep well for two nights because of this. The reception staff also said something to her coworker about me in Spanish while I was standing in front of her. I felt uncomfortable knowing that they are talking about me rudely.

Beautiful property, friendly staff. At the front desk, they were able to give information that helped us decide on our tours,and then made our reservations for us.

We had two very nice comfortable cabins, beds were fine, it was lovely being able to sit on the porches and listen to the birds. The thermal baths were fabulous, graduated from hot to luke warm, were well kept up and clean. However we had two problems. The water in our cabins kept going off for many many hours For all three days of our stay. Very awkward not being able to flush toilets! We actually would fill up bottles of water so we could brush our teeth if the water was off. The other problem was they told us that they couldn’t seat our party of 5 in the main restaurant, but they could seat us in the pool restaurant and assured us the food was the same. The food was not the same, it was a much more casual menu. The breakfast buffet was very good every day and the cleaning staff and other staff were helpful and nice. The hotel is lovely, even saw a toucan in the trees there, but they need to fix their water situation.

Great location!!! Within 20 -30 minute driving distance to all the highlights such as La Fortuna waterfall , the arenal 1968 trail as well as the Mistico canopy walk. A quiet clean property, which is slightly dated but of course is priced accordingly and was the lowest price, clean resort with the mountain view that we were able to find . The view of Arenal from our superior room was absolutely fantastic ! And the room itself was very clean even if very old fashioned . The resort has hot springs on site , which is a big plus … even though only the hottest of the several pools on site is truly hot. It still offers a great view of the mountain as you sit in the pool. The grounds are well maintained and the trees and birds and mountain provide a perfect combination for relaxation . There were two restaurants on site which is a plus as we were too tired on both days of our stay to drive at night to eat any where else. It’s not great food but it’s definitely great service. All in all, a positive experience and I wouldn’t mind staying there if I visit La Fortuna again.

It provided an amazing view of the Volcano

I can’t say enough about this property. It truly is Paradise. It’s a hidden gym in Costa Rica. You can truly amaze with What you get the value for your money. This place is pristine in the middle of arenal volcano, next to shops and other restaurants and other Springs. It’s very drivable. The property itself is Paradise. It’s beautiful. It’s big, it’s guacamole in the springs are located inside the property and also offer zip lining a horseback riding. It has two restaurants in the property as well.

We liked our stay in Arenal Paraiso. The lodge was comfortable and had a nice patio with view of Arenal Volcano. We liked to go to thermal springs and a pool after active hikes. The location of this resort is convenient to both Arenal National Park and amenities of La Fortuna.

Gift shop restaurant activities and hot springs all within the property. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Easy access to town yet secluded and safe environment. Easily submerged into nature and relaxation.

We stayed at this property for 3 days in December and spent most of our time exploring the surrounding area instead of utilizing the facilities. Overall it was a good value in a great location.

Wonderful view from our cabin. Mineral pools were very relaxing. Pool was good with lounge chairs in shaded area, complete with a big iguana rubbing around the deck. Their restaurant had good food at reasonable prices (most entrees were $15-25 range with some cheaper options and a few around $40). Resort is several miles outside of La Fortuna went on tours during day and enjoyed resort at night. Uber to town was $5 when we went to explore. Very happy with our stay.

Incredible hotel located in the perfect part of town. The rooms are all separate and the pools and thermal pools are easily accessible and not too crowded. The thermal pools are all on site and all different temperatures so it’s easy to find one that’s exactly that you want. The staff are super friendly and the restaurant and bar are great. No noise problems at all. If you have a car, Parking is available right outside your door or in the lot at the entrance if you have multiple. You can see the volcano from every part of the resort. Definitely recommend.

We liked the overall grounds and hot springs. The staff was very good. However, it needs updating. The last night for dinner we ate early and it was raining. We were seated right under a roof leak, in a near empty dining room. But the food was great and our desserts to go were presented artistically.

Nice place, everywhere you are you can see the volcano. Thermal pools and wet bar are excellent. Breakfast was good too.

Highly recommend. Several baths with varying degrees of temps from the hot springs. When we were there, the 1st one was empty which was a drag. Also not a fan of the leaf blowers present during morning hours blowing the grass around. Staff was friendly though, and rooms were awesome. And the bar and food…no complaints there.

Well located in La Fortuna. Large sprawling with many independent cottage like rooms. Check-in very efficient, waited 1 hr. Food was terrible!! Main restaurant food was the worst.. not fresh ingredients.. overpriced... not at all tasty.. greasy.. not at all authentic or what we got to see in other neighboring hotels and downtown La Fortuna. Even breakfast was bad.. One of worst breakfast experiences we have ever had. Service in restaurant was atrocious. We had to wait and chase our waiter to get served.. and finally gave up

I had high expectations for this hotel. Staff are friendly no complaints. However, shower is cold, mold in the bathroom, you can hear everything from ur neighbor I meant you hear clear like if they were inside the room with you . Breakfast: horrible, terrible (literally). Again staff are great but I don’t recommend this hotel at all.
