Struggle to understand accent of check-in, inland room view bit rubbish, alright seaview would be great. decor was tired and repairs clearly done by novice handyman/on the cheap.. TV was small and remote was sporadic in working.. car park is hideously small and expensive with some spaces almost impossible when busy. But the location was brilliant though!

Restaurant staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is construction on the building which we were not informed when we booked. We had the first floor suite but it was too noisy and lots of banging which scared my little boy. The reception was helpful but quite rude when we asked for another room.

Lovely comfortable room overlooking the sea. Everything we needed for an overnight theatre stay . Really well situated hotel opposite the beach 5 minutes to the BIC and Pavillion theatres and shops . Parking is a bit pricey on site nearly £15 per night but there is a car park a short walk away that charges £6.30 for 24hrs

I booked the hotel mainly for the EV charging, which was out of order when I arrived. The receptionist did advise I could use one of the sister hotel's chargers. The car park is extremely tight, so if you've got a big car - beware! The hotel is rather dated & in desperate need of some TLC - The staff were all friendly. They had run out of the wine I wanted.. no biggie. They were dog friendly.. big plus!

This hotel is situated right on the gardens with a short walk to the shops and BH2 complex. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was large with a nice bathroom. There was a nice selection toiletries and plenty of tea and coffee with biscuits in the room. The TV was on the small side and on the wall quite far from the bed. The breakfast could have had more selection. I found this a bit basic for this standard of hotel. Food was good quality and had a fancy coffee machine, which was piping hot. Parking is charged at £14 per night. Which we weren't aware of. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

At the time of our visit, a refurb is on going. This means that while we had a sea view, we also had a skip and scaffolding view It would have been good to know before booking that the two suites I booked for my mother's 80th birthday, required climbing 2 flights of stairs, because the lift serves a different part of the hotel.

It wasn’t stipulated in the booking that we had to pay for parking. It usually is free for guests but NOT if booked through a third party. Breakfast selection was good. We had selected a premium room, but I’m not sure if that was what we got. It looked nothing like the photos on the site. Otherwise the property is good value for money and conveniently situated.

Great location and huge room. But, no room in car park. Had to pay to park in multi storey 5 minutes walk away. Also, central heating system made a loud noise - air in system? - which did not allow for a restful, quiet night's sleep.

One of the worst hotel experience ever! I recently stayed at this property with my kids and with no doubt was a horrible experience through out. To begin with, the room was not clean by any standards - the bedsheet was evidently reused without wash as it had sand all over the bed. The tap water was pale yellow. And the staff was the worst part of the experience - as they seemed busy pushing charges instead of meeting basics of customer service standards. Finally, the parking measures are worst to a different standard - as they just sent me a parking fine for parking my car while I was trying to check in. I highly recommend families to avoid staying in this hotel!

It was okay, to be fair, it doesn’t truly feel like a 4-star hotel. There were spiderwebs on the ceiling, and the toilet sink was broken. The receptionist lady was lovely. It’s a shame because the location is amazing. However, it doesn’t have a pool on-site. You have to go to another hotel, which is a 20-minute walk away, to use their pool. That’s not very convenient.

Had a superior family room with my kids, room was huge, beautiful and very clean. The whole hotel was spotless and all staff I met were lovely and friendly. Location couldnt have been better, literally right in centre of beachfront. Food in restaurant was really nice and good choices too. No complaints

I stayed at many places in Bournemouth but first time in Hermitage. It was great. I’m a terrible germophobe but to my surprise every surface was spotless. Beddings clean and fresh. Towels well washed. No speck of dust. Carpet looked as though they washed them before the season. Comfortable mattress and plenty of pillows. Aircon so quiet I managed to fall asleep in a lovely cool room. I’m coming back to Hermitage soon…

The hotel is in an amazing location! Right on the beach and walkable distance to the centre. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The rest of the hotel is a little out dated but still a nice hotel. The one thing that really did let this place down is the staff. Everyone we met was very unwelcoming, we didn’t even get a hello when we checked in. I don’t think we saw one member of staff smile and it is a shame because this hotel has so much potential to be even better. I would stay here again because the location is great but I wouldn’t hold out any expectations to be greeted in a friendly way or made to feel welcome.

Stayed with our 9 week old baby and was given a room only accessible via stairs not ideal. The room was spacious, but must had been next to a generator or aircon unit as we could constantly hear whirring and banging throughout the night. Great location but wouldn’t stay here again.

Room was very basic and quite cold. Bathroom was in need of a refuel with cracks and damage to bath. Linens were clean and room was clean but all generally tired. Breakfast was ok very average. Afternoon tea was disappointing and dinner the same. Reception area was clean and dining area tidy but dull. Parking was good for us but we were lucky to get a space.

We had a lovely short break in a superior twin room with a magnificent sea view. My wife has mobility issues and we chose this hotel as it is so close to the beach, literally 3 minutes away. We are already planning our next break at the Hermitage.

Unfortunately we did not have the best stay here. We were woken up ever morning by either an alarm, or renovation work (drilling) and the cleaning staff asking if we wanted the room to be cleaned (she came at 9:00am). The front desk staff were rude and did not give us all the information when we asked.

A very lovely hotel with a great price for solo traveller single room with sea view and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. TV room service. Options for dinner and breakfast. Extremely high standards of customer service. Nicely decorated and good set menu with good variety of options very well cooked and presented food which was delicious. Attentive , friendly staff who were able to provide information on the local area. Tea and coffee in room. Cosy and warm with good thock curtains to cut out light when sleeping. Very quiet at night. Bar and restaurant on site. Lots of storage available. Walking distance to beach, BIC, Pavillion and restaurants and bars. Car park available and 5 mins by taxi from station. Lift available. Had a really excellent experience and will definitely book again. I would recommend to friends and family.

We have stayed there for birthday party. Location is great but staff service were unexpected for hotel like this. I called reception in night for towels and toilet tissue so the guy was in night shift at reception he told me come nd pick up from downstairs and when I asked them I have a headache because I was outside for long time I can’t able to come he said I will come then didn’t show up. In morning I woke up at 11 and check out time was 11. Reception called for check out I explained my condition to other guy at reception to give me an hour I don’t mind to pay because I have to get ready for checkout. He was like sorry but housekeeping is at door I can’t make it and then I told about the guy who was talking on phone in night when I requested for towels and tissue then he just completely ignored conversation and told me I can’t give you an extra one hour check out time is 11. Location wise it was good but all is matters staff behaviour and manager responsibility. In case of staff and manager responsibility and behaviours I would rate 1 out of 5. Hope you guys have great day

The hotel is in an amazing location! Right on the beach and walkable distance to the centre. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Initial check-in felt like something out of Fawlty Towers - a very slow explanation of how a hotel worked for somebody who'd never stayed in one before. Room - no sockets by the bed and poor water pressure in the shower. Night porter took many rings to open the front door (apparently lots of drunk people ring the door at night which is why he didn't respond).

I stayed one night to attend a gig at the BIC which is literally just across the road. The park and the beach are a few foot steps one way, the mall with loads of restaurants is a few in the other direction. The hotel is old but comfortable. Room was nice, everywhere is clean. Breakfast was a bit basic but did the job. Not sure I'd want to stay a week but for a few days it fit the bill. I parked in the BIC's car park and then discovered the hotel has quite a bit of parking (and works out £2.50 cheaper than the BIC overnight).

Great hotel, in good location. Bar staff are very slow. Bit disappointed with the £14 to have to pay to park in the hotel car park. Breakfast was lovely they even catered for my husband who is gluten and dairy free.

Next to Bournemouth beach which is a big plus. The restaurant menu is very limited, and the breakfast is basic. The parking on-premise is great, and again the convenience because of the location is fantastic. Good value for money overall. Next time I would not do breakfast here, but instead spend that money to go out to one of the many options in town.

The Hermitage Hotel is an old hotel that has seen better times. The hotel is refurbishing the rooms, we were at the 4th floor and rooms are great: new, extremely clean and very comfortable. The worst part of the hotel is the breakfast and poor service that is offered: lack of staff, ham with mould, cheese that is so overdue that the corners are lifting due to dryness. When pointed out to the service, the shrug their shoulders, didn’t say anything and left (the cheese/ham stayed, not sure if they removed them later). Similarly with pastry: had to ask repeatedly to refill the pastry board. In summary, an hotel that is trying to upgrade, which is good. My advice will be to train the staff and the chef in the breakfast.
