My 5th-6th time staying here and will be my last sorry to say. my fault for not checking but i went for a swim and a workout and discovered the swimming pool is gone and also the gym only a pokey cardio gym left. these were the key reasons i used to always stay here. Now there are better options for cheaper I will use.

We always return to this hotel for it’s central location and access to a safe 24 hour car park at the back, but we miss the swimming pool and sauna ☹️☹️

We always stay at the Clayton when visiting Belfast, but I have to say this trip was disappointing. Firstly the bar, not only have they hiked the prices up, it was comfortably the most expensive bar we visit all weekend. Secondly the pool closure… between our booking and our arrival the pool had closed down.. this was not communicated to us and we even arrived at the spa, with our young daughter, to find it all closed up. Reception staff, we dealt with 2, one was very helpful, the other quite the opposite. Cleanliness, our room wasn’t cleaned properly on our first night (bathroom bins full on nappies (in sacks) not emptied and breakfast plates left). Room service glasses and plates left in to corridors for half the following day (not great when travelling with a toddler). All in all, the hotel has gone downhill since our last visit and we’ll most likely stay else where when next in town.

Nice hotel in a good location, close to the airport and right by Nandos/Spoons. I stayed in an executive room, lots of space there. Sauna was ok, could do with an eggtimer in there so you can check how long you've lasted :-). Steam room was out of action which was a shame. Breakfast is decent. Pints in bar are rather prciey, but that's hotels for you. As said, spoons down the road. Would recommend to stay here.

The hotel is in a great location, close to lots of pubs and shopping. No parking onsite but you get a discount at a car park that is right behind the hotel. Service in the bar area was a bit slow but staff are very friendly and the food was excellent.

Stayed one night as we were going to a gig at The Limelight Club across the road. Location was ideal for this. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the whole hotel had a relaxed atmosphere. Nice bar area with additional seating outside. Rooms were comfortable but a possible upgrade to bathroom fixtures and fittings at some point would be good. Everywhere clean and tidy. Breakfast had a range of options and wass tasty and fresh.

Our room was a big disappointment. The room was small, there was a musty smell straight away and there were stains on the carpet/chair and sheets. The breakfast was not worth the money and was like warm. We paid nearly £200 and thought we would get value with the hotel being 4 star. Unfortunately we won’t be back

The cleanliness of this hotel was some what shocking. The pillows were not clean. There was a sick mark on the carpet next to the bed that had not been cleaned. The floor had several items on it namely, ear buds, leaflets and small change for example. There was a stain on the side of the bed which looks disgusting and like bodily fluid which had clearly not been cleaned properly. There was mold/ dirt on the ceiling of the bathroom. The air condition did not work proper. For the price of the deluxe double room we paid for this definitely was not worth the price.

The reception and dinning area were nice. Thats the only good thing i can say really. The staff i didnt really incounter with but the few i did they were helpful. The room tho very outdated. We got our room serviced everyday and everyday the new towels were dirty or stained. We could here peole talking in there rooms that were only a few doors down as well as could hear everything outside even with the windows closed.

Very nice staff, good location, the room was spacious but in need of a refresh. The bathroom was grubby and in need of a major refurb, dirty shower curtain and overall not nice. I think they were cleaning the carpets on the floor I was on as there was a very damp dirty smell throughout the floor. Don't think I will be going back.

To be honest everything was just ok for one night. Pictures looked nicer than the actual hotel. Room looked dated with stained carpets, leaky shower and worst of all no window to the outside. My window faced a brick wall/inner courtyard of which there was no mention in the room description. On the plus side easy check-in check out process. Nice coffee & tea making facilities and a good mini bar in the room and good central location.

The room was very tired and a bit grimy. Bathroom was disgusting; full of black mould. A lot of noise all night from the bars/clubs on the streets outside the hotel. Hotel’s central location was useful.

Very average hotel in the middle of Belfast. Visible dirt on surfaces in bathroom. Asked to change room due to unvaccumed carpet with lots of spillage stains. I was told all the rooms had stained carpets. Vitually all restaurant and reception seats are heavily stained. Nothing that a deep carpet and upholstery clean won't fix along with a little maintainace to make good the bashed furnishings. Breakfast was okay, however staff seemed to not be very experienced with food allergies.

We stayed for two nights, and from the moment we arrived, the bathroom was dirty with hairs on the floor and a messy sink. We asked reception to have it cleaned, but nothing was done. The next day, not only was the bathroom still dirty, but the entire room wasn’t cleaned, even though we had specifically requested it. The elevator was also dirty. If you’re looking for a clean room, this isn’t the place.

Stayed in room 501. Right beside the elevators with no soundproofing doors between. Room is old and in need of renovation. Shower curtain was torn in several places and had an odd smell (I mentioned this on checkout and staff were very apologetic). Location is excellent, restaurant was fine but not outstanding. Staff very nice and public areas are welcoming.

Property is centrally located, and the bar is nice. But the room was actually unacceptable. Every time you flushed the toilet it literally made a sound like someone was vacuuming for several MINUTES, not seconds. Made sleeping through the night impossible. Sink was clogged, and ended up using a hoodie as a pillow the pillows were so bad. Good location, but there are much better stays in the same neighborhood for cheaper cost. Staff was friendly on the upside

Wifi didnt work in the bedrooms - annoying as i was there for work. Shower ran red hot or cold & nowhere in between. Dont look under the beds - .really gross. Id dropped an ear-ring & discovered all sorts besides on my quest to find it.

This hotel is dated and desperately in need of an upgrade. For example, there were no USB cord slots in the room, and there were very few and poorly placed outlets. When I stayed here before, I thought that the room had a small refrigerator, but we had no refrigerator in our room or ice machine accessible. The room was adequate but not worth the price.

From the minute we arrived couldn’t have asked for better. From reception team very friendly when checking in and a lovely young lady ( didn’t get her name) but came to our rescue next morning when our car wouldn’t start. But found a gentleman who worked at hotel to help start car. And another receptionist who offered us jump leads to use for our stay if it happened again. Restaurant staff who with only 10 minutes of service allowed us to order food. Would definitely recommend

Nice modern hotel with helpful front desk. All good at first but for some reason our room was not fully serviced on second and third days. The front desk sorted it proptly when we rang so no big issue. Asked for a late check out and they let us keep the room until noon at no extra charge. Hotel is a short walk from the city centre with pubs and restaurants nearby. Will come back next time in Belfast.

Self service check in wasn’t the smoothest as they terminal didn’t easily encode the 2nd key and staff required to assist. Noticed others struggling to use at check in too Fan in bathroom never switched off, even with lights off, which we found disturbed our sleep. Mentioned to receptio who arranged for maintenance. When we returned after a day in the city is was silent. Huzzah. Until we put the bathroom light on. Again it started. And never stopped. Ordered room on our final night. Just a bottle of wine. Delivery in ten minutes. Excellent. 40 minutes later had to call reception to get room service delivered. Bar is nice. Decent location. Very friendly staff. Wouldn’t recommend. I’m sure there are better hotels for the price.

Staff were all excellent and friendly. Stephen at reception was especially kind and attentive. Our whole experience was just lovely. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Location could not be better for downtown.

Staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Rooms was beautiful and clean, all the added touches from bathrobes to complimentary water, coffee, fizzy drinks and chocolate. Will definitely be returning soon.

We were given incorrect information about parking which meant that we could not claim back the money we paid. The information about the car park a fair distance from the hotel at check in was unclear and when we attempted to redeem our receipts we were told that we should have been given a different method to reclaim the money. Three nights meant we paid an additional sum of almost £60. The staff at reception were unhelpful

Lovely hotel smack bang in the centre of Belfast. Staff were fantastic, rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast great. Easy walk into Belfast where all the bars are. Prices at the hotel bar weren't daft either.

The room was very tired and a bit grimy. Bathroom was disgusting; full of black mould. A lot of noise all night from the bars/clubs on the streets outside the hotel. Hotel’s central location was useful.

Very central location. Belfast is not a big city so everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. Rooms were nice and the staff was very friendly.

This is a very conveniently located hotel in Belfast, just a few blocks from the bus station as well as easily walkable to the city center, St. George’s market, and many coffee shops and restaurants. The staff was very helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our three day stay.

Loved the breakfast menu, great choices and fresh with a lot of variety. Hotel is in a great location and looks great and welcoming upon arrival. Rooms are comfortable, but could do with a bit of a refresh as they look quite old and furniture looks dated. Some disturbances due to loud noise outside (people shouting wonder if this was the pub over the road) and from other guests, slamming doors, children running in corridors found it difficult to sleep. Not the hotels fault, as this will happen. Overall a really good stay as positives outweigh negatives and would come back! Rooms clean and loved tea tray.

Room was not serviced during our 2 night stay. Breakfast was chaotic - had to wait for half an hour and a lot of choices were unavailable. Vomit in a lift all day! Public toilets in a poor state.

The hotel room itself was nice but the toilet leaked. Also, the parking situation was tricky, partly due to construction, but still tricky nonetheless. The breakfast was worth the money and the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.

My stay was good but your range of Gluten Free food for Breakfast and evening meals is not good you could use GF sausages and the range of Breakfast cereal is poor. Also No GF Peroni drink . Apart from that all was good.

Hotel was nice, food was lovely but service was poor, forgot to bring out one of the starters, also took a while to get bill after asking only a hand full of other customers in the restaurant, one of the members of staff was messing around with another member squeezing some sort of bottle which was maybe vinegar/water over another right where you come to to be seated at your table. Was a lot of dust in the room maybe the room we had hadn’t been used in a few days, a lot of dust on wardrobe where one of the towels were kept and along the top where the safe were, went to store clothes on top but was thick with dust. Other than these hotel was lovely reception staff Were very helpful.

Lovely hotel but the room I stayed in was freezing cold as the heating was not working properly. The brackfast was of a very poor quality everything was over cooked and dried out. The staff are lovely and helpful in reception. I would stay again but would leave the brackfast.

I really like this hotel. It does everything that I want it to. The staff are so helpful, the rooms are well appointed and clean and the breakfast is excellent. It is also within walking distance of the city centre and the Grand Central Station.

when we arrived the room we got govren (419) was clearly different to the pictures on both the hotels.com site and the clayton hotel website and not what we had booked - i booked Deluxe Double and got a double with single bed. Although there was a table in the room there were no chairs for the table as show in the pictures the room was not very clean when we arrived; there was part of a biscuit on the skirting board, there were stains on the bed throws and the carpet had more stains on it; and i dread to think what they were. we were woken by the cleaner trying to get into the room after the first night and i said we were going out shorlty and to come back later - they did not return to service the room so i had to go to reception to get fresh towels (reception couldnt have cared less when i was not happy at having to get fresh towels) as the ones we had in the room had to be used to mop up the floor as there was no seal along the bottom of the shower screen so the floor flooded, the overall bathroom wasnt very clean and there was severe mould along the edge of the bath and around the shower screen frame and around the fittings on the bath, the mosaic tiles grout on the shower head wall looked to be that old that it was black and uncleanable. there was paper and dirt along the edge of the wall underneath the curtains so clearly not getting cleaned properly. there were leaves outside our door that were there all 3 days, this is not a 4 star hotel based on the room i received

Have been here for the past 4 years and all was perfect which is why we kept coming back this time it was awful the staff the rooms the whole lot is just gone very down hill….. constantly calling to re ask for the same things even after waiting 30/40 mins each time there was poo in the sides of the toilet bowl.. we raised the issues going on with a night porter after waiting 1 hour for some toilet roll and he said how the receptionist is slow and new. We stayed for 4 nights costing over €700 I would never ever come back again now which is awful after 4 years it really has gone down hill. The smell coming from either the curtains or the carpets is absolutely vile had to have the 2 windows open all day/night also
