Upon arrival informed lifts were broken heavy luggage to climb upstairs. Informed if did not like it could get a refund. Floor in room dirty. Shower was basically on top of the toilet. Would not recommend this particular hotel. Not value for money.

Bloc overall is a good, modern budget hotel with contemporary features. Apartment rooms are the best with good amenities including mini kitchen with fridge, coffee maker, microwave and sink. Staff on reception were very helpful. The only downside is there is no breakfast, but there are cafes a short walk away in the Jewelry Quarter

Very much recommended. A pleasant and quite leafy part of town yet only a few minutes from the city centre. Great restaurants nearby. Clean, modern, comfortable rooms with everything controlled by your smartphone. Excellent TV with all the apps you need.

Hotel review. Small overpriced room. This hotel managed some unique moments. Whilst stylist, it is an no food or drink hotel. A first. Had the most expensive room (211) per night per sq meter I have ever stayed in. The small wet room that required extra towels to dry the toilet. The king bed is 3/4 of the room. Set in an alcove so only one side of the bed is accessible, meaning climbing over my husband to get in and out. No bin, or drinks machine, only available if you paid the £55 to upgrade. Given the £1xx. The hotel boasts to be set in an up market area hence the price. But 5 minutes down the road is poor housing so dont understand price On welcome there was a person being sick in a bag on the reception floor for 5 minutes I dident say anything but mentioned to receptionist who said yes we are aware hes waiting for a taxi. They dident seem concerned No bin in room tbh no where to put rubbish so the hallways which are tiny are filled with rubbish towels and the hoover for the cleaner. Coffee machine downstairs priced at 1.50 for a standard drink. Also air-conditioning in rooms as no ventilation tiny room you go from hot to cold to cold to hot. Room price, a rip off of a room. I had just stayed in a huge room in the centre of Leeds for two nights for less. Nice staff good location. I recommend you pay the £35 or £55 to upgrade or find better for less. The local carparks are not associated with the bloc anymore so a hefty 28 pound for 24 hours

Easy parking in the NCP carpark 2 minutes away which was very secure. 15 minute walk to the arena, 20 minute walk to the city centre. Lots of options for eating out. The room was perfect for a base - smaller than expected, but this was fine as we only needed somewhere to sleep after the concert. Room was immaculate, bed incredibly comfortable, smart tv and bottled water in the room, great size bath towels, shower was great. Overall, highly recommended, we will definitely be back for our next trip to the arena!

Despite offering Parking, there was no parking at all. I was just told there was an NCP for 27.00 a day. The room is tiny, an absolute shoe box. So much so the bed is boxed in on 3 sides. If there was a sexond person in the bed you would have to climb over them to get out. The bathroom is so small that is has to be a wet room, which then means everything in the room is soaking wet, including toilet rolls. Then you have to use a towel to dry the floor or have wet feet every time you use the bathroom. The shower head was filthy, black mold on it and not all the nozzles sprayed water as they were gunked up. The room had a window, but these cannot be opened. The room is controlled by your phone, which a cool gimic, though the room never got cool enough as the aircon would reset to 23degrees all the time. Poorly spund proofed. You could hear people talking in the corridors, even when they talked at a reasonable level. Id never entertain staying here again. Poor qualilty, no parking, rude staff.

Nice modern property within walking distance of the Metro. Noisy at night though, and the room was very warm. No parking either, which meant car parks 10 minute walk away or on street parking. Privacy was also a bit questionable. Opposite our window was a block of flats. We could see in to their homes and they could see into our room. The only option was a full blackout blind, which meant no natural light.

Modern hotel and just 10min walk from Arena in a really nice part of Birmingham. Room was compact but had everything you need for an overnight stay. The 4* was because the was noise throughout the night of a lift or machinery somewhere in the building.

We liked the bed, bedding, shower, and TV at the foot of the bed. But a few more hooks and hangers would make a stay of more than one night feasible. The room was just SO small. The sealed window was awful as it was impossible to get the air conditioning right and it made such a noise. We could hear the noisy guests above us too.

The hotel is basic but modern quick stay. Didn't expect such a small room and bathroom. Nice shower and air conditioning,and all room facilities can be controlled by your phone. Bed takes up half the room,but comfortable to sleep. Helpful staff at reception. Couldn't give 5 star's. Felt a bit Claustrophobic

Loves the helpfulness of the staff during our stay considering our circumstances (2 drunk girls whose trains cancelled last minute and no way home till the next day). Staff helped with the check in, trying to split the bill, giving us a nice room; couldn’t fault the place.

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. When we checked in we were offered a free room upgrade. The room was stunning, clean, spacious. Bed was comfortable, shower was lovely too

Loved my stay at Bloc it was very peaceful and no interruptions. When I arrived one of the lovely reception staff helped me with my bags and another changed my room as they explained the lift wasn't working and kindly changed my room to ground floor as I had heavy bags. 10/10 service will definitely stay again

It is my second time staying at bloc hotel apartments and its always a pleasure. The staff are A+ very welcoming i had 2 heavy bags and one of the staff members asked if i needed any help taking bags to my room as i was second floor he went out of his way and it much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again and i would recommend friends and family to stay here if they need accommodation when coming from out of towm. A+ staff and stay thank you

Could not ask for better staff. The rooms are super clean and has everything you need. A super big thank you to the staff who went above and beyond to help me with partner in a wheelchair. Highly recommended.

Used the hotel as visiting Birmingham for a premier league game, firstly great price, good location walking from the train station and fairly easy getting home from villa park. Room was spotlessly clean, fresh and modern. Check in was easy and no stress of keys etc , all done on your mobile phone. Will definitely use again next time I’m in Birmingham.

Modern hotel and just 10min walk from Arena in a really nice part of Birmingham. Room was compact but had everything you need for an overnight stay. The 4* was because the was noise throughout the night of a lift or machinery somewhere in the building.

We booked to stay for 1 night and although it’s a 3 star hotel it was spotless and the staff were excellent. There’s no restaurant or breakfast which is why it’s a 3 star but we didn’t need one as it’s in the city centre! The room was small but perfect for a 1 night stay. The bed was really comfortable too. There was a tea/cofee machine with biscuits and bottled water. Really pleased with our stay.

Very clean and modern room - it was compact but fine for an overnight stay. The electronic controls via your mobile phone are novel but a bit of a hassle - reception was available throughout my stay. There are breakfast options close to the hotel.

So, it does what it says - a bedroom and a bathroom - very well No restaurant or anything , but they have negotiated deals with other - very local- hotels for food etc. Knowing this, I’d stay again

Bloc overall is a good, modern budget hotel with contemporary features. Apartment rooms are the best with good amenities including mini kitchen with fridge, coffee maker, microwave and sink. Staff on reception were very helpful. The only downside is there is no breakfast, but there are cafes a short walk away in the Jewelry Quarter

Really good stay and upgraded on my first night to a bigger room that I didn’t need but enjoyed having for the night with tea and coffee in the room. You can get tea and coffee by reception so there is a place to get a drink but still like to have in the room but only available in the expensive rooms. I think my only gripe is the phone app access that took a while to load on my second night to switch the lights on and off. I was given the option of an actual key card so I could get into the room the second night as the novelty of controlling door access and lights on a phone had definitely worn off. Overall a good stay and value for money.

Rent och lagom stort rum när det gäller apartment room men fönstren gick inte att öppna alls så nästan onödigt att ha de. Finns en liten innergård man kan kan sitta på under sommaren men ingen rökning är tillåten. Glasdörrar när det gäller badrummet som man kan se in genom om man är 180+ men finns toalett vid lobbyn för de som delar rum men inte känner sig bekväm med att skita framför sin partner.

Usually I have nothing but praise for this hotel however this stay was utterly disappointing, the initial staff upon my arrival were fabulous, very friendly and chatty, my room was lovely, the snacks a nice touch the bathroom however had an overwhelming smell of cigarettes, I found myself washing the walls (I was too tired to kick up a fuss), there was also a plastic bag over the smoke alarm (I removed it) the tablet in the bedroom was stuck on WhatsApp. I mentioned the bathroom to reception in the morning, he apologised and said he’d have the bathroom cleaned. My second evening the lights weren’t working at all nor were the tablets or the app, I informed the reception staff who eventually came to try and resolve it (unsuccessfully) and left me sat in a cold and dark room for over an hour, when I called reception again to find out what was going on I was told to pack my stuff and I’ll bring you a new key? The girl knocked on the door, held out a key card, said “here” and walked away. My new room had working lights, switches only as the tablets again weren’t working so the aircon wasn’t adjustable I phoned the reception to have the link resent for the new room but still didn’t work, I was too tired to care, my third night was no different to the second minus the additional snacks in the room, which is an added extra that’s paid for. Overall a very disappointing experience, your only credit was the girl on reception upon my arrival and the lad in the morning
