We had a wonderful stay - the hotel is in a gorgeous old building with amazing tall ceilings, the staff were so friendly, the gym and spa were excellent (the one hour free access per day was very appreciated!), and the bed was so comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful place. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are very spacious. Everything was clean. Wish the fridge was actually cold but oh well. We tried the spa but unfortunately the two pools were out of order but they still allowed us to use the sauna and steam room. Those were great and they comped our hour session. Bath robes and slippers are in the room to use. We'll definitely be staying here again. It's such a great location and very quiet. Shout out to Jing as well. She was so helpful with the questions we had.

Nice room and welcome. However I booked this room as I wanted a swimming pool, which it says it has. When I got there I was told it would be £10 to use it! Just because I booked via an app. No details on the app to say that!

Stayed at HHB over the bank holiday weekend. Cannot fault the staff, they are a credit to the hotel. Decor is lovely and the spa is great albeit compact. £10 pp per hour to use the spa but the treatments are considerably more expensive so we didn’t have any. Our main gripe was with the room. There were two rooms that were stationed on the other side of the bar so you had to walk through the bar to get to them. Our room was up a flight of stairs and just felt quite lacking. It was quite small, had no natural light because there wasn’t an outside window (only a window with frosted glass to an event room), and we had no hand soap for the entire duration. There were multiple doors to the room which was needed because of the noise from the bar downstairs. The nespresso machine in the room was great, until it flooded the bedside table whilst we were out and ruined my phone charger. We got asked by the staff at the end if we’d used anything from the mini bar, when our room didn’t even come with one. All in all, a lovely hotel with lots of potential, but felt like we’d been punished a bit with a subpar room because we’d booked through a third party.

The hotel is conveniently situated and has a spa which is why I booked it. My room was upgraded and nicely decorated and quirky; the ceiling must be about 30 ft high! The air con can be a bit noisy but otherwise quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa is small but that's quirky, too - used to be a vault and you can still see the brick tunnel and heavy doors. Didn't try any of the dining options so unable to comment. Very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful building, had a dinner dance in the main ballroom, Wow what a room. Only downside was no carpark but there are carparks close that you get discount in plus bus service very good.

Disappointing that there was an additional charge for the spa facilities, for only an hour slot. Shower wasn’t working by the sauna/steam room, which meant you had to keep walking back out of the spa and through the reception area to take a shower (made me doubt the cleanliness of the spa). Gym was very small/basic with limited equipment and lots of things broken. Staff were a little defensive. I don’t drink so didn’t make use of the complementary gin in the room, but coffee pods in the room were nice. Overall not great value for money, but the location was good, and room was comfortable and clean

Would come here again. Really comfortable and spacious room. We stayed in deluxe. Definitely worth the upgrade. Cleaning staff forgot to fill up the toiletries which was a shame. But otherwise excellent

The location was excellent in terms of proximity to shops/bars/restaurants. As it's a City Centre Hotel you do expect to hear Street noise and music so it was surprising that ear plugs aren't provided. The air conditioning looked like it needed a clean/servicing. It was inadequate and had I stayed more than one night I would have requested an engineer. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the linen felt clean and high quality, which is what I expect from a Harbour Hotel. The bathroom was also very clean with a really good shower. The room itself felt very dated, the furniture made it feel cramped and the layout made no sense. The sofa needed a deep clean, it had numerous dubious stains and we avoided using it for this reason. I'd prearranged some sparkling wine for the room for a Birthday surprise but sadly this wasn't there, however we did receive some chocolates, which was nice. Overall, the room we were in really needs an overhaul - fresh carpets and furniture as it was underwhelming for the room type (junior suite) and made the room feel dirty.

Great room and lovely hotel but all the laundry through the hall at 1400 gave a poor impression as did having to take the service lift as the one at the reception was out of order for the duration of our stay.

This hotel is old and a bit tired. Some of the communal areas were dirty and in need of decoration. There was a problem with the drain system which caused an overpowering stench in our room. The staff did change our room for us, however offered no incentive to compensate for the inconvenience. The smell was also evident in the restaurant by the kitchen which put us off eating in the hotel. We chose the hotel because of the spa facility however it’s very small and limited and there is a fee for using it on top of the room rate. The central location was quite good however this meant there was no parking at the hotel. You could use the NCP close by however even with a discount it was still expensive. Overall I would say it’s not quite the experience one would expect for the price. I wouldn’t revisit or recommend it I’m afraid.

Faultless service from staff with whom we had contact. Lack of attention to detail from housekeeping which included dirty flannel left in shower, glasses and ice bucket not washed, victials not topped up and dusty head board.

The hotel has severe issues in rooms in the property due to damp and mould spores. The smell was so bad in our room 252 I had to get dressed and go down to reception at 5am as we were unable to sleep. I was informed that nothing could be done. I called a manager about 8am who came up to the room and witnessed the terrible smell. She apologised and explained the hotel is built in and old bank that has rot issues. They have tried to cover the smell with plug in air fresheners but is way beyond that. They did give us a free breakfast and a £50 back in way of apology. I have stayed in the hotel before in rooms at the other end of the hotel which was fine. Serious work and health inspection is required urgently.

Reception and spa very helpful and friendly . The dining area looked quite dirty. Bed was comfortable but the air con was noisy as was corn street with the local pubs having barrels collected early hours of the morning.

Hotel was clean, comfortable and modern. Room was huge and facilities were good. Be warned even though the hotel states all rooms are sound proofed - if you have a room overlooking Small St then the music from the night club opposite is extremely audioable in the rooms. Mid week that’s until 12:30am but much later at weekends. Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly.

Terrible stay in a room that should not be offered to guests. Behind the kitchen on the ground floor. Windows were covered in opaque treatment so very little light. Air con unit out side widow kept me awake, then the banging from the kitchen. Room is so small there was no space for an armchair, only a small conference chair at the desk. Will not be risking staying at this hotel again.

Really disappointed with room we were given it was extremely small it was like an attic room no natural light extremely dark very hot as we couldn’t open the windows felt extremely claustrophobic in the room. Are friends also stayed there room was same price but so much bigger really lovely with a bathroom 3 times the size. Was very disappointed in our room. Spa was really lovely and hotel nice just our room was not good at all.

We normally love this chain but this time was very disappointing: the hotel wasn’t that clean, it’s a maze and super complicated to get to our room. The room itself was like a show box with no view and blinds you can’t fully opened so it was very dark.

As it's a City Centre Hotel you do expect to hear Street noise and music so it was surprising that ear plugs aren't provided. The air conditioning looked like it needed a clean/servicing. It was inadequate and had I stayed more than one night I would have requested an engineer. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the linen felt clean and high quality, which is what I expect from a Harbour Hotel. The bathroom was also very clean with a really good shower. The room itself felt very dated, the furniture made it feel cramped and the layout made no sense. The sofa needed a deep clean, it had numerous dubious stains and we avoided using it for this reason. I'd prearranged some sparkling wine for the room for a Birthday surprise but sadly this wasn't there, however we did receive some chocolates, which was nice. Overall, the room we were in really needs an overhaul - fresh carpets and furniture as it was underwhelming for the room type (junior suite) and made the room feel dirty.

Terrible stay, the heating/aircon system was so loud all night I could barely sleep. Booked the hotel for 3 nights but checked out after the first due to this. Also, the decor is very old and the room small.

Great location. Reception very understanding when we didn’t like our room. (It was quirky in that the bathroom was up a flight of stairs in the room). Moved us with no problem at all to a lovely room. Bed super comfortable. Good amenities and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was ok, had better. Gold bar was cosy and welcoming.

Stayed at HHB over the bank holiday weekend. Cannot fault the staff, they are a credit to the hotel. Decor is lovely and the spa is great albeit compact. £10 pp per hour to use the spa but the treatments are considerably more expensive so we didn’t have any. Our main gripe was with the room. There were two rooms that were stationed on the other side of the bar so you had to walk through the bar to get to them. Our room was up a flight of stairs and just felt quite lacking. It was quite small, had no natural light because there wasn’t an outside window (only a window with frosted glass to an event room), and we had no hand soap for the entire duration. There were multiple doors to the room which was needed because of the noise from the bar downstairs. The nespresso machine in the room was great, until it flooded the bedside table whilst we were out and ruined my phone charger. We got asked by the staff at the end if we’d used anything from the mini bar, when our room didn’t even come with one. All in all, a lovely hotel with lots of potential, but felt like we’d been punished a bit with a subpar room because we’d booked through a third party.

The hotel is conveniently situated and has a spa which is why I booked it. My room was upgraded and nicely decorated and quirky; the ceiling must be about 30 ft high! The air con can be a bit noisy but otherwise quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa is small but that's quirky, too - used to be a vault and you can still see the brick tunnel and heavy doors. Didn't try any of the dining options so unable to comment. Very enjoyable stay.

On the night of the 25th, there was a massive party going on beneath our bedroom, and we couldn’t sleep well. When we called the reception to say that we couldn’t sleep, we were told to use earplugs and that this was not their problem. When we talked to the hotel staff in the morning, we were told that they would refund one night to our account on Hotels.com. However, I cannot see any refund or reward on my account.

This is my 3rd stay at the Hotel and on a previous trip their were some issues which they more than made up for with a complementary upgrade to a Suite. Great room and slept well 😴 This is how you give service. If their is a problem you do something about it.

From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful, they upgraded our room to superior which was so lovely! They even helped take bags to our room and showed us the way there. I liked that someone stayed on reception late at night and asked for peoples room number and names for added security because it is in the middle of a busy area. The room was very clean, huge bed was super comfy, mini fridge stocked although we didn’t have anything but nice to have the option. We didn’t eat here because we’re vegan and there weren’t many options but that wasn’t a priority because Bristol is full of vegan restaurants. So the only negative thing is that very late at night you can hear people sorting the bins out very loudly, but it wasn’t really an issue. Also the maid we bumped into was really nice and friendly too and done a great job on the room. Everything was amazing and would definitely stay again.

Despite emailing the hotel in advance to remind of my gold hotels.com status, I was told upon check in a room upgrade wasn't available. When I questioned why the couple in front of me had just been offered an upgrade, suddenly one was found for me. The receptionist was lovely but it would have been nice if I didn't have to get a little stroppy to get something they could have easily offered as soon as I arrived. It is subject to availability but there clearly was availability, they just didn't want to offer it. My other gripe is the spa. It is a total rip off that they charge £10 to use the facilities. You get one hour and it is tiny! The swimming pool is freezing, too small to swim and too cold to use for anything other than a plunge pool post sauna. Had this been free, I would be commenting how well they have used a tiny space and booking in advance is fine (as it's so small) but you only get one hour. There was confusion too as hotels.com say it's £10 per night but the hotel tries to charge £10 per visit so £20 if you want a morning and evening use. Again, I had to get stroppy for them to admit I was right. At breakfast my bacon arrived raw after a long wait and having to aks several times if it was ready. I sent it back which took forever. I ate my eggs to avoid going cold and then got a plate of bacon. Tighten these things up, make the spa free & I'd tell everyone to stay here.

Beautiful hotel, just a couple of let downs. Weren’t provided with any water in room just alcohol. No information on facilities in bedroom such as spa etc in room. Would call reception and would often not get answered. Also was not informed about breakfast times (information also not provided in the room) and consequently missed it by 10 minutes. Waited in reception for some time until someone finally came to the desk after we were trying to catch the eye of other staff members. Also no shower just bath which isn’t ideal for the mornings with two friends who don’t fancy sharing the same bath water having to run a bath empty and rerun another bath. No door on bathroom so very awkward when going to the toilet with your friend in the same room.

Great part of Bristol to stay. Historical architecture of buildings and surrounding area was beautiful. Loads of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Unfortunately on entering the hotel we were not greeted with an enthusiastic, friendly member of reception staff. They checked our bag in and we were told to come back after 3pm. No niceties, hello's, welcome or any type of response that promoted good manners. We returned at 3pm and checked ourselves in with a different member of staff who informed us that our bag had been taken to our room. This we thought was a nice touch, and she then took us to our room. A small but comfortable room with just a shower (no bath) which to be fair we hadn't specified but was looking forward to a nice soak after a long tromp around the town. Thank goodness for air conditioning as the window didn't open. Very comfy bed and I slept like a log. Another nice touch was the complimentary water, tea and coffee facilities AND a decanter with a drop of gin. All very good for gin drinkers but we are not so feel we missed out a little on that one. The meal we had in the restaurant was top quality and the best part of our stay. The crew were extremely attentive and couldn't do enough for us.

The girl on reception could not have been more helpful. It is many years since I have experienced this level of service. Location was excellent, in the centre of the historic trading area of Bristol and close to the harbour (probably clues in the hotel name). Rooms were luxurious and very clean and comfortable.

Fab hotel, lovely rooms, great location (for Bristol City Centre!) only drawback is it’s quite a walk from car park if you have luggage, but it is a city centre hotel I guess!

This was our first stay at this hotel, although we have stayed in many hotels in Bristol over the years, this one was recommended by a friend. So, we gave it a go, and so glad we did! At the price point, it is certainly the best we have stayed in anywhere in the city! The booking was easy and all requests were accommodated flawlessly. Check in was an absolute doddle, and the staff were genuinely kind, funny and welcoming. The location was smack bang in the middle of town, within an easy walk of the Bristol Hippodrome and the Colston Hall (now renamed), so great for gigs and shows! The room was fabulous, quirky but luxurious, and the bed was seriously one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I really cannot praise this place highly enough! In fact, we’re going back in a few weeks!

Well appointed room. Friendly reception team. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Sadly I was woken by a beer barrel delivery for the pub opposite at 6am which was most unwelcome. Did not eat breakfast or dinner or visit the bar so can’t comment on those. The closest / recommended car park is a bit sorry for itself and feels a bit edgy. Also tiny spaces. Beware satnav may direct you into new bus only zones !! Hoping I don’t get a ticket for that

That means that between the hours of midnight and 6am you will hear beer barrels being collected/delivered, the nerve jarring sound of of glass bottles being tipped into recyling bins, then emptied again when the council turn up to take them away, and constant refuse collections. Apparently due to limited access restrictions on Corn Street and surrounding roads, these deliveries and collections all take place during the night. It is a shame because the hotel is in a prime location for exploring Bristol and the harbour. The hotel itself is aware of the noise issues but there is nothing they can do about it, Other than install triple glazing, which is unlikely, they can only offer their apologies to guests for the noise pollution.

Beautiful building, had a dinner dance in the main ballroom, Wow what a room. Only downside was no carpark but there are carparks close that you get discount in plus bus service very good.

A few poor elements here. Breakfast never referenced by anyone. If it isn't something the hotel do, that should be mentioned. Could not use pool on arrival - had to book in advance and pay. This wasn't the case on previous stays. Poor to not be able to have a swim. Kettle in room was bust. Beer in one of the bars was poor. Gladly replaced, but the draught was in a bad way. All that said, it was a comfortable room and the hotel is very attractive and very well situated in central Bristol

This was our third stay at Bristol Harbour Hotel. It’s a wonderful hotel overall but this stay was just not exceptional like the other experiences we have had there. The room was great, a deluxe room with incredible bed and great facilities. There was no view as we were on a different side of the hotel as previous but that was OK. Room service cooked breakfast was hot and brilliantly cooked but missed items such as toast that we ordered and there was no butter or jam for the croissants, condiments or Ketchup. When we arrived the state of our floor was not good enough with the days laundry strewn across the floor, including in front of the lift. As we had 4 rooms booked at huge expense with guests we invited this was a real shame as we weren’t checking in early. Overall a reasonable stay, we would come back but on this occasion it was just not as amazing as before.

We arrived and were told that breakfast was not included, even though I booked a room with breakfast. The spa which was a big sell of this property was also an additional charge. The staff was rude as we watched the person before us check in and was offered also sorts of perks… we were soaked from the rain and after the front desk helped the person she asked if she could grab her jacket as she was cold so made us wait even longer. (Mind we were dripping wet) also had I known the spa and breakfast were not included before the booking I would have stayed somewhere else. As I booked a non-refundable room I couldn’t cancel when they notified about the spa charge 24 hours before arrival.

Great location. Reception very understanding when we didn’t like our room. (It was quirky in that the bathroom was up a flight of stairs in the room). Moved us with no problem at all to a lovely room. Bed super comfortable. Good amenities and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was ok, had better. Gold bar was cosy and welcoming.

Had a great night at the hotel. Room was upgraded and very spacious, spotless and comfortable bed. Breakfast staff very attentive and pleasant. Great full English breakfast

We loved this historic building, tastefully decorated in a quirky modern style. Our room in the side wing was very nice, but not good for accessing the spa as the only way is through the restaurant. The pool area of the spa was disappointing - very cramped and rather full when we used it. The restaurant was lovely to sit in but lacked the ingredients for a negroni and the food was not great - overcooked burger and inedible greens. Our room was on the top floor and like others we were woken early by street cleaning and bottle collecting from 6am onwards. Better glazing is needed to help with this. But the setting is great and the staff were all lovely so would return if in Bristol again.

An amazing room with free standing bath and excellent matress; very comfortably. The only thing that let the bed down was the poor quality pillows. Good size room though with fantastic bathroom and double sink. Breakfast superb; best eggs royal I've had.

The air conditioning did not work. We were moved to a different room and were told that the AC Was working. It was very loud and useless, the room was still too hot. The noise level from the AC kept me awake all night

Air conditioning system was old heating system and was ineffective. Needed fans to cope with heat in the room. Mattress topper only the size of double bed and we had upgraded to king size bed. Housekeeping had to come and rectify. Bed was also very high and proved a challenge to get onto! Large step into the bathroom which was difficult to manage with slight mobility issues. Staff were helpful.

Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. Bar staff were very friendly, rooms were very comfortable and AC was a life saver during the heat wave.

Lovely hotel…but the aircon unit was very noisy and kept me awake most of the night. I asked for a discount to reflect this, but because I had been granted a late checkout apparently that was sufficient. I was also disappointed to find the 1 hour use of the spa wasn’t included in the room price, it wasn’t obvious on the hotels.com website. I won’t stay there again, it’s significantly more expensive than other hotels in the area, but my stay didn’t reflect that.
