Coco Grove Beach Resort, Siquijor Island

Two stars off because one you couldn’t swim in the ocean for two of the three days we were there. The reason was because it was a new moon and they were worried that we were gonna go Spearfishing. Also, it was the worst gym I’ve ever seen in my life. Equipment was all old and rusted out and it was half outside so it was too hot. Also, there’s about 10 workers banging around and painting it.

Set in the context of Philippine island living this location is quite traditional and particularly suited to those who appreciate the peace of natural surroundings , sea , sun, local creatures plus water sports eg swimming and diving. there is an excellent 5 star PADI dive centre (Bahura Dive ) on site and a relaxing restaurant and bar with fresh food cooked and a good selection of drinks!

Best resort in Siquijor. Excellent place to take the family. Has 3 pools, nice beach, kids play room and lots of activities to keep the kids busy.

Resort in seiner Gesamtheit einzigartig auf Siquijor. Es gibt wenig Gründe es zu verlassen. Preise auch im Resort fair, nicht wesentlich teurer als ausserhalb. Einige Dinge wie Poolwände könnten Renovierung vertragen. Sie sind aber scheinbar bereits dabei (Spa Pool wirde renoviert). Traumhafte Strandablage, und Schnorchelriffe.

We loved our stay here. The staff were absolutely amazing. The front desk staff, the tours staff, the restaurant staff and the tuktuk tour drivers were all so friendly and helpful. Our scenic nature tour was so fun and each stop was memorable. The food at the restaurants was great and the ambiance was top notch. They always made sure we were well taken care of and that reservations were honoured. The evening shows were really cool and the staff really puts their all into it. The singers, the fire dancers and the ladies of the Salamandas restaurant (especially the emcee/hostess, we loved her enthusiasm) were all fun to watch. The beachfront was amazing and so much seating. The pools were spacious, but a bit dirty. The lifeguard was cleaning as we were swimming though so wasn’t too worried about it, just maybe need to clean it more often. The cleaners were great. Very thorough. My biggest downside is by far the television. When you’ve had a long night and want to unwind, a tv is nice and they had 13 channels, 3 or so in English and the rest were foreign channels and ones that didn’t work (like the history channel, which would have been nice to watch). Get smart TVs with streaming apps if possible and a better wifi connection. That is my only wish. We’ll be back though no matter what. We had a fantastic experience.

夫婦2人、小学生2人の家族で宿泊しました。スタッフは、みんなフレンドリーで親切です。他の家族と一緒に大勢で車を借りて出かける時、私達が遅く予約したため手配できないとの事だったけど、ホテルスタッフがなんとか車を見つけてくれて、みんなで出かける事ができました。ホテル内は、安全で子供達も自由に動き回れるが、ホテルの外は子供と徒歩でアクセスできるレストランなどはないです。しかし、トゥクトゥクなどは、簡単に見つかります。ホテル自体、少し古くなってる部分もあるが、清潔に保たれていいます。ホテルのビーチから、すぐにシュノーケリングもできて、たくさんの魚達や亀もみれました。子供達とシュノーケリング行くなら、ガイドを雇う事をおすすめします。

Im Hinblick auf die super Bewertungen kamen wir mit hohen Erwartungen an. Das positive ist der tolle Strand mit super Schnorchelmöglichkeiten, das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Auch die Anlage ist sehr schön. Leider haben wir uns auch öfter geärgert. Im Fitnessraum sind ca 4 Fünftel aller Geräte kaputt. ZB gibt es drei Laufbänder, alle sind kaputt. Das Problem ist bekannt, leider war der auf den ersten Blick gut ausgestattete Fitnessraum ein Grund für uns dieses Hotel auszuwählen. Das Frühstück ist a la carte, am ersten Morgen gab es gleich keine Pfannkuchen mehr um 9.30. Wir hatten insgesamt 4 Kakerlaken im Zimmer teilweise auf dem Bett, ok es ist warm und grün aber so viele hatten wir auf den Philippinen noch nicht. Netterweise haben sie uns starkes Insektenspray gegeben, hat gut geholfen. Der Wachmann wollte uns einmal mit selbst gekauften Bananen nicht ins Resort lassen da es eine no outside food policy gibt, nach etwas Diskussion und Rücksprache mit der Rezeption aber kein Problem. Das Putzpersonal hat sich sehr laut jeden früh um 7.30 vor unserem Zimmer unterhalten. Insgesamt daher etwas durchwachsener Aufenthalt.

Everyone was so nice and accomodating. Booking excursions and motorbikes was very easy. The property is beautiful and clean.

We had an excellent stay! The staff were great, always wearing smiles and accommodating our needs. We booked the buffet and show afterward, and it was fantastic. Our room was clean, and hot water was abundant. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

The Coco Beach Resort offers clean, clear access to the ocean, two large pools (with different depths for children) and a smaller pool near the temple residences. The resort is nicely appointed (walk ways), hand rails in some places and lots of foliage. Check in was good. Check out efficient. The restaurant Salamandas was fine with traditional breakfast choices including (American, Filipino) and a few options for lunch and dinner as well. There is a Play Room for children (that offers supervision, while parents play billiards or take a break in the chairs provided. The resort staff are generally helpful. There are many different rooms types in the resort. We found the temple room to be spacious and comfortable. Another room option we tried required a deep cleaning of the restroom space as the odor was offensive. Wifi was hit or miss. We will return for another visit in the weeks ahead.

Very friendly people and the breakfasts were excellent. Everything was clean and even though there were power outs on the island, the hotel's own generator kicked in when that happened.

La plage est belle, on a aimer la piscine sale très profonde. Mais le personnelle, surexploité pour être correcte et à qui on dois demander d’être toujours beaucoup trop enthousiasme c’est très forcé…. J’ai de la peine pour eux et en plus, ils deviennent donc franchement désagréable. Tout les clients ne sont pas égaux dans cet hôtel … curieux ! (Il n’y a curieusement pas de jus d’orange ni de pancake pour les client européens, magique!). En réservant des mois à l’avance notre chambre, en demandant gentiment à la réservation une chambre proche de la plage et silencieuse, nous étions contre les cuisines et face a une piscine bruyante. On demande gentiment d’être changé de chambre c’est paraît-il complet ! Mais quand on s’énerve un peu, comme par magie une chambre se libère ! Quelle chance. ! La cuisine est, très sincèrement, la moins bonne qu’on est goûté au philippines, et accessoirement la plus chère. L’hôtel est néanmoins beau, le jardin tropicale époustouflant, mais je suis directrice d’une agence de voyage et je ne recommanderais pas votre hôtel à mes clients car nous ne sommes ni des mal propre ni des grosses tirelires. Bien dommage ! L’animation n’est pas raffiné, le personnel exploité forcé de danser, un spectacle de feu qu’on peut chronométrer, des difficultés à trouver une table le matin car pas débarrassé donc pas possible de déjeuner devant la mer, 4 tables qui se battent pied dans le sables, des tables « réserver » qui ne sont tout simplement pas utilisé

Not only was the room was incredibly clean the bed was extremely comfortable.

Staff are very attentive to our needs. The room is clean, newly renovated. Although we would have wanted a dedicated air conditioning unit inside the room instead of relying on the unit from the other room.

A little bit run down rooms but the main issue was no wifi in our corner room (401) and very poor lighting

Der Aufenthalt war toll aber die Toilette und Dusche hatte keinen Wasserdruck, leider sehr ungünstig.

We stayed at the turtle cottage. It was very clean with a great working AC. The views were spectacular with awesome sunsets. The onsite restaurant had a good variety of choices and everything we tried was very good. The staff and people working at the restaurant were simply the best I have ever seen. Always had that beautiful smile!! The only issue was with the facility, we only had hot water for two of the four nights, not an issue for me but the wife likes her hot showers. Would defiantly recommend this for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. We do not swim so I cannot comment on the snorkeling except to say that there were always lots of people in the water from morning till night.

Excellent resort and great and friendly staff. The only negative is that the walls were very thin in golden orchid and next door party kept me up until 1:am.

Ich war im Januar 2024 dort und hatte eine Villa direkt am Strand - einfach nur traumhaft! Es sieht genau so aus wie auf den Bildern. Das Personal ist super freundlich und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Fast alles ist top: Der Zimmer-Preis ist für Philippinische-Verhältnisse überteuert und der Kühlschrank im Zimmer ist sehr laut. Und es stimmt, Essen und Getränke (ausser Wasser) sind nicht erlaubt - finde ich aber nicht schlimm. Bestellt es einfach an der Bar oder Restaurant, es ist sehr günstig und absolut köstlich, auch die Auswahl ist gross genug. Es gibt einen Shuttle-Service und so wie ich gesehen habe, kann man im Hotel auch einen Töff (Roller) mieten um die Insel zu erkunden. Hier noch ein Tipp: Wenn es einen Musik-Abend mit Dinner gibt, reserviert ein Tisch in den hinteren Reihen, weil die Musik ist viel zu laut. Nichtsdestotrotz, mir hat so gut gefallen, dass ich gerne länger geblieben wäre und sollte ich jemals wieder auf Siquijor sein werde ich ganz bestimmt dieses Hotel buchen - ich bin überzeugt, dass es kein besseres gibt auf der Insel.

I loved the room we got. It was spacious, quiet, and the view of the ocean and the sunset was amazing!!! I love the amenities they offered and the amazing swimming pools. And their staff were warm, professional and very guest conscious. I love Coco Grove!!!

The rooms needs a little bit updating. The bed is somewhat uncomfortable and the water pressure of the shower is a little weak. I do not like the fact that you have to take the key off the master switch to leave the room. In the scorching hot temps of the Philippines, it takes time for the room to cool off. Staff are friendly and service was ok.

I have stayed in a lot of properties around the world and this was amongst the best! The marine sanctuary is a snorkelling paradise, the food and service 10/10 and the spa massages were excellent. If I was being really picky, I would say the room decor is a bit dated but still very clean and perfectly functional. We loved this place, just excellent.

The property was beautiful, although the views were very obstructed by the lovely trees. The staff was very pleasant and always approachable. However, it appeared to be a disconnect between listening and acting on requests. The charges at the resort were annoying, simply fixing a set price for all would be less bothersome in the long run. My air conditioning was not working properly for two days. I had to request having my bill adjusted to accommodate the inconvenience. The property granted the bill adjustment but i should not have had to ask. Not once did I see or hear from management regarding this issue. The front desk personnel should not be apologizing, the management should make apologies and amends for the issue. Not sure I would stay again because of the issues. Once again, the staff was great but they should respond to requests with more con ern. Also, reaching the front desk by phone from your room is impossible during the day. I must say, the night time desk person was fabulous (didn't get his name unfortunately). He came up to check air conditioning and even offered me a upgraded room until someone could check out my unit. Bravo to him, maybe he should be the manager!

We had a very pleasant stay. Pick up and drop off free. Breakfast included and it’s delicious. Either you can rent their van/car or get a tour package with them. And they can purchase your boat ticket back to either Cebu/ Bohol/ Dumaguete. Very friendly staff.

From the pick up until the drop off at the port - this hotel was amazing. the friendly and always smiling staff did make it to a perfect vacation stay. we definitely will come back soon. i think so far the best hotel we have been in the last 15 years around the philippines.

The property it self is really nice, staff are really friendly except this one lady at the front desk who didnt really help us with our problem.. looks like she’s in a hurry and wants to end our conversation right away. Good thing most of them are accomodating and friendly especially the staff at the dining. Wifi is our main complain, we really dont have wifi in our room.. we reached to them our problem but didnt solve our issue.. need to go outside to get some wifi. Over all we still loved our short stay. The resort is relaxing and we did enjoyed our stay .

A majority of our family stay with kids at Coco Grove was spectacular. We’d choose this resort anytime. The only minor bummer was that not all staff provided the same high-quality service as the rest.

Great location, great workers, great value! A surprised bonus was the included shuttle ride to port.

They were great all around, picked up at ferry and take us to hotel, with welcome drink at hotel. Staff always great and feiwndly and friendly, fast service at all restaurants, just great place to stay. Love siquijor and i will return to stay again

i booked 2 rooms that were supposed to be next to each other, then i confirmed it by calling reservations which they they confirmed, upon arrival we were given a room upstairs and downstairs, i have to argue with the front desk staff until they gave us 2 rooms both upstairs but still separate, one on the left wing and the other on the right wing. but we were tired and just took it... customers should be made to experience stuff like this...

Hotel située sur une belle place de sable fin avec un peu plus loin des spots de snorkling multitudes de poissonss et tortues. Hotel est dans un parc avec une végétation luxuriante. Possibilité de prendre le petit déjeuner , dejeuner et dîner sur la plage les pieds le sable Transats et lit de plage très comfotable avec de l'ombre ou non. Deux piscines. Personnels exceptionnellement charmants et serviable. Je vous recommande cet hôtel, très bon rapport qualité prix la prestation hôtelière et restauration.

Proximity to the beach, nice staff, clean and landscaping of the hotel .

Beautiful hotel and beach. Secluded but can easily get to center of town via tuktuk or hotel van. Transfer from port to hotel was arranged by hotel. Can also avail of daily tours via hotel desk. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely want my friends and family to come visit.

We had a grate time at Coco Grove.First the location in front of a wonderful beach where you can snorkel (it's like an aquarium just couple meters from the shore).Second the architecture and the very good standing. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.According to me it's the best place to stay in Siquijor.

Schönes Resort, ziemlich groß, aber sehr weitläufig angelegt. Direkt am Wasser, aber weniger zum Baden im Meer, sondern zum Schnorcheln am eher unspektakulären Hausriff. Sehr angenehm fand ich die verschiedenen Plätze, um zu frühstücken, es gibt kein Büffet, sondern eine Kartenauswahl. Insgesamt drei schöne unterschiedliche Pools.

No room service

The property itself is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The food is descent, but they limit the dinner menu and run out of choices for dinner. They could do a better job controlling the mosquitos while dining. The swimming pools are nice but I prefer non salt water pools. Which they don’t have. One day our room at palm court smelled like sewer due to the sewage backing up in the property. We had to sit outside our room due to the smell. Another day they had an all day blackout and had to use generators for powering the resort. The generator broke down, so we had no power, no ac and no Wi-Fi for quite some time. They will give you a discount off your room if problems arise but it’s not enough of a refund for the trouble. Having said all this. The resort is very beautiful and the staff is the absolute best!

Fantastisk beliggenhed og stemningsfuld resort. Gode snorkeling muligheder lige fra stranden. Der bliver serveret vand for gæsterne som ligger i solen. Restauranterne har lille udvalg og ingen vegetar retter. Ofte er der udsolgt af flere hovedretter. Morgenmad er god men man kan kun vælge 1. Ting.! Vi var der i 6 dage og fik ikke skiftet hverken håndklæder eller sengetøj de 6 dage. Dejligt at der er vand Cooler med varmtvand på værelset.

The staff were exceptional in every way. Helpful, extremely hard working, kind, thorough. The snorkling was beautiful and the pools superb. The rooms were spacious, and the food excellent in any.of the restaurañts. The shows were super too with great singing and dancing. Loved it all.

overall the place is amazing but missing one thing: room service. other than that everything is superb!

Positiv: The Organisation was perfect. The property is a dream and the staff very friendly, competend and skilled. Big rooms. Frequently events in the Resort. Less than normal animals roaming around. Negativ: The coffee taste not good, late room service (sometimes 3pm), gym only open in the morning. Sometimes to less staff at the pool bar. Waiting time for breakfast at the restaurant in the front. During our week, they changed to smaller glasses at the complimentary breakfast. Small things where sometimes forgotten during meals (salt, pepper, tissues). Of course prices in thoose resorts are a bit higher, but 340Peso for one shot of Don Papa Maskara is ridiculous. But it was very nice there and we will come back.

Loved the resort itself. The staff were wonderful, always remembering names and were so welcoming. The resort itself is right on the beach and it’s beautiful. Always so helpful to arrange to get you the places you need to go. We will miss the hotel staff! The only criticism is that the food was terrible, everything we ate there was stale, had an awful flavour or texture and was under or over cooked. Annoyingly one of us received food poisoning from one of the beach lunchtime dishes which has ruined the holiday a bit. But this is probably an unlikely case. 5 stars other than the food.
