Was pleasantly surprised, more boutique hotel rather than a pub with rooms. Rooms were excellent with decent bathrooms. Staff were good and food drinks in the lovely “pub” were excellent. Would definitely stay again

Only thing it needed was a lift to the accommodation levels .. very difficult taking large suitcases up narrow steep stairs

The hotel was clean, tidy and looked modern and fresh. The room was a little small and was boiling hot with no air-conditioning or way of cooling the room down as the window was so small. Gave up waiting for food in the restaurant as it was so busy so didn’t eat there. However, breakfast in the morning was absolutely superb and really well Cooked and fresh. As this hotel is a pub my room overlooked the beer garden which had people in it playing ball games and getting drunk right up till 11:30 at night, so it wasn’t a very peaceful nights sleep to start with. The parking was great and there is easy access to all the major road links into Leicester and beyond

This is a lovely hotel full of character and English Charm. Very good value i loved everything about this place. I had booked it for myself and two colleagues one form the U.S. and one from Germany. They were both so impressed too. Everything from the beer, excellent menu and food, well appointed very comfortable rooms, easy parking and most importantly of all the great ,friendly very efficient staff was just perfect. Cant wait to go back .

Lovely location, good breakfast and superb staff. Pam and Becca were excellent. Room was warm and clean, good selection of tea & cofffee. Kettle, hairdryer iron & board. Easily to get to and withing easy reach of Leicester. Very busy pub and restaurant at night, but didnt hear a thing. Parking available but few spaces left Satuarday evening.

Arrived late afternoon on Sunday evening. Unfortunately I was left standing with all bags at room reception desk until I must have given someone a look. A lady, whom I think was the manager, was attentive and explained everything and checked me in. However it was obvious she was running around trying to sort everyone and everything. But I was checked in and happy to go to my room. Room was really nice. Decided to have quick shower to get ready for dinner. Unfortunately the shower filled up very quickly and had to rush before it overflowed onto the bathroom floor! Down at dinner I was sat down quickly enough and ordered my meal. It came out quickly and was nice. However, once again, after finishing I was left sitting on my own with eaten food in front of me for nearly 20 minutes. It felt I was just left. I wasn't asked about another drink, or even dessert. After enough waiting I decided to go to the bar area and ask for a drink and bill (I didn't want to wait any more for dessert). Whilst waiting in the queue at the bar, the original lady who checked me in spotted and asked if I wanted anything. She came with my coffee and bill straight away (thank god for her!). Went back to room and slept in the comfy bed. However 0530 I was woken up by a swinging door that needs oiling slamming away over and over. It sounded like it was below the room. That was it, off to the blocked shower again before work. Breakfast was completely different. Service was great. Easy and good food

Lovely property. Helpful friendly staff. Good food. Easy parking. Lovely shower. Bed headboard a bit dusty but apart from that spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. Room was a good size. Good range of hot drinks in room with decent sized cups and nice glasses. Lovely touch with personal welcome note and chocolates. The only thing for us was that the room was really too warm even with windows open and radiator switched off. TV - lots of channels that didn’t work. Would definitely stay again.

A very warm welcome as soon as I entered the hotel awaited me. I was soon checked-in and away to my room that was a cosy single. The room and en-suite were both clean and the bed very comfortable. There was a super choice for breakfast both continental and full English etc. I chose the latter that set me up for the day and was delicious. I had dinner on 2 occasions and that was beautifully cooked and well presented. I shall definitely return next time I am in the area.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Castle Hotel. Caroline, Dom and all the team were very friendly and welcoming. The Castle is spacious, immaculately kept and well managed. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with everything we could need. Highly recommended.

When upstairs showerd water poured from light switch and the ceiling window catches missing witch is a security issue as we were room 2 ground floor in car park area had to clean out shower trap myself on arrival as blocked we stayed a week and windows security was still not repaired room was poor for what was charged would NOT recomend to any one else this should not be called an hotel it is fit for b&b 1 night only stays

Nice and cosy room. Both room and bathroom were clean. Little chocolates and a welcome note on the bed was a nice touch. Check in was easy really friendly guy welcoming us in. The pub is lovely too and all staff were polite and treated us well. Food was good and plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel with fab staff. Rooms are really small but cosy and had everything you need. Restaurant was great with good quality food at a great price. Breakfast choices were great too. Highly recommend this place and ill definately return

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Castle Hotel. Caroline, Dom and all the team were very friendly and welcoming. The Castle is spacious, immaculately kept and well managed. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with everything we could need. Highly recommended.

Room was quite small and no room for placement of suitcases. No air conditioning only a small desk fan so room became hot as it got the sun all day. Only a small top opening window to allow air in, but at night you had to close curtains due to large flood lights in carpark which also reflected off the bedroom mirror. So room became very stifled. Staff very friendly and food was nice

The hotel itself was nice, but not very sound-proofed, as I could hear people in the rooms next to ours, as well as the doors opening and closing in the hallway. We'd booked a king room and got a twin room instead. They fixed it and joined the beds together, but they didn't even have a note that the room was supposed to be a king room. Unsure if this is an issue with the hotel or the hotels.com booking system. Hotel reception usually closes early but they were able to stay late for us, the shower was really nice, the breakfast was great! I would stay here again, but I would need to bring ear plugs lol.

Nice overnight stay at the Castle, nice location, large comfortable room. Stayed in room two, the sound traveled from the room above us, the occupants came in at 4am so wasn’t great, however not much the hotel could do.

Property well maintained and clean ,however, my room 23 was subject to noise till midnight from what may have been a generator, plus bottles being put out in bins. The rip off price of £4.90 for a bottle of Harrogate still water for my room meant I gave no further business for food apart from 2 continental breakfasts The shower was very sliippery and the hotel is aware of this as it has a small notice in the bathroom advising to request a bathmat, This mat should be available in the bathroom without having to ask for one. I have contacted GK separately .

The rip off price of £4.90 for a bottle of Harrogate still water for my room meant I gave no further business for food apart from 2 continental breakfasts The shower was very sliippery and the hotel is aware of this as it has a small notice in the bathroom advising to request a bathmat, This mat should be available in the bathroom without having to ask for one. I have contacted GK separately .

Arrived late afternoon on Sunday evening. Unfortunately I was left standing with all bags at room reception desk until I must have given someone a look. A lady, whom I think was the manager, was attentive and explained everything and checked me in. However it was obvious she was running around trying to sort everyone and everything. But I was checked in and happy to go to my room. Room was really nice. Decided to have quick shower to get ready for dinner. Unfortunately the shower filled up very quickly and had to rush before it overflowed onto the bathroom floor! Down at dinner I was sat down quickly enough and ordered my meal. It came out quickly and was nice. However, once again, after finishing I was left sitting on my own with eaten food in front of me for nearly 20 minutes. It felt I was just left. I wasn't asked about another drink, or even dessert. After enough waiting I decided to go to the bar area and ask for a drink and bill (I didn't want to wait any more for dessert). Whilst waiting in the queue at the bar, the original lady who checked me in spotted and asked if I wanted anything. She came with my coffee and bill straight away (thank god for her!). Went back to room and slept in the comfy bed. However 0530 I was woken up by a swinging door that needs oiling slamming away over and over. It sounded like it was below the room. That was it, off to the blocked shower again before work. Breakfast was completely different. Service was great. Easy and good food

A very warm welcome as soon as I entered the hotel awaited me. I was soon checked-in and away to my room that was a cosy single. The room and en-suite were both clean and the bed very comfortable. There was a super choice for breakfast both continental and full English etc. I chose the latter that set me up for the day and was delicious. I had dinner on 2 occasions and that was beautifully cooked and well presented. I shall definitely return next time I am in the area.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Castle Hotel. Caroline, Dom and all the team were very friendly and welcoming. The Castle is spacious, immaculately kept and well managed. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with everything we could need. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and helpful. Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Service brilliant, room comfortable and with everything we needed and more, plus a little 'Welcome' note and a couple of chocolates. A very individualised experience. Recommend to anybody !!

The hotel itself was nice, but not very sound-proofed, as I could hear people in the rooms next to ours, as well as the doors opening and closing in the hallway. We'd booked a king room and got a twin room instead. They fixed it and joined the beds together, but they didn't even have a note that the room was supposed to be a king room. Unsure if this is an issue with the hotel or the hotels.com booking system. Hotel reception usually closes early but they were able to stay late for us, the shower was really nice, the breakfast was great! I would stay here again, but I would need to bring ear plugs lol.

The hotel was easy to find plenty of room to park. The check-in will a simple process and i was made to feel very comfortable. The room was very comfortable with a large bed. It had a very homely feeling. The dinner menu was simple but varied food was served within a timely manner to suggest it was cooked to order rather the chucked in rhe microwave. Good selection for breakfast to. I had scrambled eggs which wasn't on the menu but they were more than happy accommodate me.

The hotel was clean, tidy and looked modern and fresh. The room was a little small and was boiling hot with no air-conditioning or way of cooling the room down as the window was so small. Gave up waiting for food in the restaurant as it was so busy so didn’t eat there. However, breakfast in the morning was absolutely superb and really well Cooked and fresh. As this hotel is a pub my room overlooked the beer garden which had people in it playing ball games and getting drunk right up till 11:30 at night, so it wasn’t a very peaceful nights sleep to start with. The parking was great and there is easy access to all the major road links into Leicester and beyond

Lovely location, good breakfast and superb staff. Pam and Becca were excellent. Room was warm and clean, good selection of tea & cofffee. Kettle, hairdryer iron & board. Easily to get to and withing easy reach of Leicester. Very busy pub and restaurant at night, but didnt hear a thing. Parking available but few spaces left Satuarday evening.

Great service booking and as normal the room was excellent, food and friendliness of the staff is the pub again were fantastic, p.s breakfast isnt to be missed.

We were greeted by the new manager and his new kitchen manager on arrival, they’d only recently took over the establishment, however they clearly had been in the industry a long while. The rear car park was large and easy to park, the one around by reception was a bit tight for our large 4x4. Room, while old, was clean and fresh with a well stocked tea and coffee bar. The bathroom was good as you’d expect however the shower tray over flowed if you had the shower on full. Judging by the witness marks on the skirting this had been a regular issue. That said the shower was clean with plenty of hot water. The bar was busy and we were shown a table quickly, the waiting staff were attentive and friendly without being overly pushy. We asked how long they’d been there and one of them said it was their 1st night… Breakfast was freshly cooked with plenty of choices, with a well stocked cereal bar with self serve hot drinks and toast. It was a perfect venue for a spur of the moment pit stop on our journey home…
