Check in was quick and easy, bathrooms were clean, beds were as comfy as you expect beds to be in a dorm room. Plenty of plugs for your electronics which was nice. Definitely will consider booking again!

I stayed here for a concert at garrison grounds. 20-30 minute walking distance and 5-10 minute Uber. For the price it was well worth the money! I would consider staying here again. It was a little warm in the room but I asked for a fan at the front desk and they were more than happy to give us one. Also, the front desk attendant was very friendly and was able to let us check-in early.

It is in a nice neighborhood. Street parking is difficult so I purchased the day pass to park on site. The rooms are barebones but clean. Shared bath so bring flipflops etc.

-Poor wifi, (always disconnect) -Laundry needs to do coin operated for guest (it is card operated- we don’t have card) -No microwave oven to heat food so I eat my cold left over food. - i did not enjoy my stay…. I checked out early… ( 2 days early)

I feel very sorry for students who sleep on those mattresses during the uni term. It was brutal for us. The rooms are very hot (no AC), sheets and towels are very thin/well used; dirty dirty dirty coed shared bathrooms (e.g., hair in drains, toilets soiled) - no change in the cleanliness in the 3 days we were there. No coffee or kettle to use. No TVs (not even a shared one). It was an expensive stay for so little in return. The saving grace were the the student hosts - very kind. No parking M to F - only street parking which is nearly impossible to find open space. No closeby eating places. Walked to the harbour each day - about 35 min walk.

Great friendly, hospitable, knowledgeable staff. Overall happy with the accommodations. Slept comfortably. I would recommend and stay again. I wish the basement rooms had windows that were more accessible to open for fresh air since there's no AC. Bathroom showers could use a better scrubbing in the corners. There were cob webs & long leg spiders. Spider & cob webs in the corners of the room too.

I made reservation in April. My room was at Alexandra Hall, in the basement, no opening window, no air circulation. We asked for another room. We have been relocated in the 2nd floor. Floor was dirty, wardrobe doors were difficult to open, we were on the street side, very noisy. So I am wondering what is the point of booking in advance? Is it because I used Expedia I got one of the worst room? Should I have booked directly? Staff were very kind and helpful, happily.

An adequate place to lay your head. Room was okay, very utilitarian. Wall AC plugs wouldn’t charge my phone. The curtain length allowed outside lighting to invade the room, right at pillow level. Staff were very nice, and it’s preferable to a hostel in my experience.

This is a good operation, and the staff seems to be great all the way around. The issue seems to be how the building was remodeled with all its fire doors etc, there's no cross-ventilation and the building just retains heat. It could be 15C outside and your window wide open, and it'll still be low 20s in your room and mid 20s in the hallway. The mattress is pretty tough, too. A guy with a butt and and upped back and a smaller waist isn't gonna have his lower back touching the mattress all night, and will be feeling that in the morning (and for several mornings) Having said that, I'd choose this place again for a summer visit to Halifax given the value and enough time for my back and body to recover.

This place is cheap which is great. The room was very hot and stuffy. Hard mattress. The bathroom is down the hall and for all genders. I didn't want to shower while someone is pooping a few feet away.

Overall it was good value and accommodations and facilities were clean. I was in a room in the basement where it was cooler but it had a number of spiders and the mini fridge was making a lot of noise. I took care of both issues on my own but noted them to the front desk on checkout (if I mentioned it to them ahead of time I am confident they would have dealt with promptly as front desk service was good).

the environment is good. the reception girl acutually is not good. cheated on parking lot fee not tell me it is free parking after 4 pm and charge 17 dollor for almost 1 hour parking! why dont tell customer the truth? halifax shame!

Staying here would have been a lovely experience...except there was a guest in the room next to mine who screamed obscenities and banged on the walls from the time I arrived at 2pm until 1am that night, and began again the next morning at 8am. When I knocked on their door after midnight and they opened the door, they appeared to be using drugs and said they were having a bipolar episode. The college staff was very apologetic the next day and moved my room, but they let this guest stay, which I question. After communicating with the guest that night, I was afraid to reenter the hallway or even use the bathroom because they were clearly not in a stable place and were extremely angry.

Chambre spacieuse, propre avec un petit frigo dans un environnement agréable et calme situé dans un quartier résidentiel et tranquille. Bus public devant le Collège pour aller en centre-ville en 10/15 minutes ou à pied en 20/30 minutes. Cafés, dépanneur et quelques restaurants proche de l’université si on veut rester dans le quartier. Personnel aimable et répondant en cas de besoin. Définitivement une bonne option et un bon rapport qualité/prix pour un court séjour.

This summer residence stay experience was exceptional on many fronts. The reception and the room preparation staff have been top notch. I highly recommend this location on a main bus line (route 1), a 2 km walk to downtown to the East passing by the fantastic Public Gardens as well as three away from Point Pleasant Park to the South. The colourful neighborhood is worth the walk to the Citadel. The student residence is roomy and impeccable. Worth the extra effort to stay out of the tourist zone of hotels. A definitive way to enjoy Halifax as a local.

Hé j'ai aimé le prix c'était très abordable la propreté des lieux en contrepartie les matelas sont vraiment soient durs où on sent les ressorts y a pas beaucoup d'investissements au niveau des matelas c'est la chose quelque chose que je peux à cet établissement on rapproche Ah oui j'ai oublié le moindre restaurant se trouve à un kilomètre ce qui fait une bonne marche et 2.7 km de du quai soit le centre-ville c'est un peu loin mais c'est pas un reproche pour moi j'aime marché hé le personnel n'est pas bilingue sinon ça va avec le prix ça va

Beautiful old building. Roomy, walkable to downtown or easy drive. Can park in convenient lot on weekends and each evening. Seemed like good value. It is a dorm with shared bathroom, but roomy bathroom, never seemed busy.

No food options at location. All food options are 10 to 15 minutes away. Bed are not the most comfortablle. Bathroom counter and sinks speckled with people's toothpaste and not cleaned once by their maintenance person. Had to clean own space prior to using it.

Shared washroom with showers on 1st floor had little to no hot water, no paper towels, and two shower units had no handles. Entry door to the room, so heavy it had to be propped open with a shoe which is what guests directly across also had to do. I had to clean room desk top because it had congealed something on it. Expedia listing mentioned dining hall which there was not.

For a residence the rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, that was about it. This was the most expensive residence we stayed in on our travels with the least to offer. It is clean, basic and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you had a vehicle it would be more convenient. We did not have our own bathroom and there was no dining service. I’d probably spend the extra $20 for a hotel in Halifax next time.
