Stayed here upon arriving from the Camino. Be aware the that the Pension is an annex to the Hotel Rua Villar on a nearby street where you need to check in. There's a notice on the door of the Pension, but better to know beforehand to avoid confusion. Literally 3 short blocks to the Cathedral square with lots of retail and dining options nearby. Property is very clean and contemporary, although there are only 3 rooms per floor and no elevator. Yes, a walk-up for those of you who care. We were on the 3rd floor (4th for those of us in the US) which, after a Camino made the climb was a surprise, but one we were now ready for.

Lovely small place in the heart of the old city. The room is small, but clean. Great location. You check in at the hotel around the corner. Our receptionist at check in was incredible. She gave us a map of the city, pointing out extra things to see that weren't on the map.

Das Check-In in dem 3 Sterne Hotel um die Ecke lief problemlos und schnell. Zu meiner Schlüsselkarte habe ich noch eine Straßenkarte mit wichtigen Informationen und sogar einen Busfahrplan zum Flughafen bekommen. Das Personal war sehr höflich. Das Zimmer (Nr.13) war kleiner, als ich es erwartet hatte und es fehlte eine Klobürste, aber gemütlich war es. Auch der Zimmerservice war schnell und gründlich.
Das Check-In in dem 3 Sterne Hotel um die Ecke lief problemlos und schnell. Zu meiner Schlüsselkarte habe ich noch eine Straßenkarte mit wichtigen Informationen und sogar einen Busfahrplan zum Flughafen bekommen. Das Personal war sehr höflich. You could not get a better location. 2mins from cathedral, 5mins to market, surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants but quiet road in comparison with nearby more tourist roads. Room was serviced every day and spotless! Looks newly renewed interior, bathroom etc and very comfortable. Room was compact but had everything I needed for my 5 night stay. Bathroom had plenty of space and all very well thought out. Be mindful on arrival that 1) if you catch the 1Euro bus from airport its a 20 minute uphill walk from the station bus stop. Its fine, but be ready 2) check in is at the sister hotel round the corner, so head for that 1st. The staff are really friendly and helpful -thank you Sandra! Checkout is at 12 and you can leave bags there. 3) the pension is on 3 floors with no lift. It's fine and I just took it slow getting the 20KG bag up and down. I would return to this accomodation every time!

The location of this hotel couldn’t be any better. Literally steps away from the cathedral. The price was great. The room was a bit small, but I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room. It was a bit confusing that you check into Hotel Villar around the block to check in. It was also a bummer after walking for 1 month of the trail and my legs like jello, that I found out my room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Bummer! Aside from that it was great and I definitely stay there again…even in a 3rd floor walk up. The last day I was able to store my luggage and get almost a full day of touring before leaving town. Wonderful staff

La recepcionista Cristina dedico mucho tiempo a informarme de todo lo que me podría interesar, además de sacarme, enviarme por email e imprimirme tickets que me interesaban y lo cual me fue de gran ayuda durante mi estancia. Todo ello sin yo preguntarle ni pedirle nada. El alojamiento es fabuloso, creo que es nuevo o recién reformado por el aspecto que tiene todo. Esta ubicado a un par de minutos caminando de la Plaza de Obradoiro en la bonita Rua Nova. Me parece una zona completamente segura. La habitación y el establecimiento estaban super limpios en todo momento. Me gustaría volver a Santiago y alojarme en el Hostal Rua Nova de nuevo. Fabuloso

Die Lage ist unschlagbar und Santiago ist eine winderbare Stadt. Die Zimmer Sind sind sehr sauber und modern. Ich würde wieder diese Pension wählen, auch wenn das Zimmer relativ klein war.

En god opplevelse, vi rota litt med å finne det siden regnet gjorde mobilen ubrukelig, men da vi kom frem ble vi henvist til hyggelige damer i hotellet gaten nedenfor. Bra service! De bestilte transport til flyplassen direkte fra utgangsdøren! Det var en glede i styrtregnet. Greit rom og sentral beliggenhet

A greatly placed pension for any solo Traveller or pilgrim. Only 100m from the entrance to the cathedral and a further 100m from the main square. A good welcome from the staff who provided everything needed including an iron and taxi booking. Although there was no breakfast included, this was no issue as there was a supermarket 300m away and a plethora of places to eat in the vicinity. Great value for money and would use again!

The front desk lady was very professional, kind, and good at her job. She gave me much information and when I needed to extend a night she gave me another room and let me leave my luggage in original room (since it was booked) to be transferred while I was out on tour. Highly recommend this place!

Zentraler geht es nicht, direkt an der Kathedrale! In der Umgebung findet man alles was man braucht. Zimmer schön ruhig in einer Seitenstraße. Rezeption immer besetzt und sehr freundlich. Ich fand den Zimmerpreis lediglich etwas zu teuer für eine Nacht.

You could not get a better location. 2mins from cathedral, 5mins to market, surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants but quiet road in comparison with nearby more tourist roads. Room was serviced every day and spotless! Looks newly renewed interior, bathroom etc and very comfortable. Room was compact but had everything I needed for my 5 night stay. Bathroom had plenty of space and all very well thought out. Be mindful on arrival that 1) if you catch the 1Euro bus from airport its a 20 minute uphill walk from the station bus stop. Great room and great location! The front desk person was extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean and had what is needed for an overnight stay. The location is amazing, literally around the corner from the Santiago de Compostela.

The location of this hotel couldn’t be any better. Literally steps away from the cathedral. The price was great. The room was a bit small, but I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room. It was a bit confusing that you check into Hotel Villar around the block to check in. It was also a bummer after walking for 1 month of the trail and my legs like jello, that I found out my room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Bummer! Aside from that it was great and I definitely stay there again…even in a 3rd floor walk up. The last day I was able to store my luggage and get almost a full day of touring before leaving town. Wonderful staff

Stayed here upon arriving from the Camino. Be aware the that the Pension is an annex to the Hotel Rua Villar on a nearby street where you need to check in. There's a notice on the door of the Pension, but better to know beforehand to avoid confusion. Literally 3 short blocks to the Cathedral square with lots of retail and dining options nearby. Property is very clean and contemporary, although there are only 3 rooms per floor and no elevator. Yes, a walk-up for those of you who care. We were on the 3rd floor (4th for those of us in the US) which, after a Camino made the climb was a surprise, but one we were now ready for.

Cons & Pros: We originally reserved at the Pension next door that is associated with the hotel, however the two-bed room we reserved wasn’t available to us and they wouldn’t let us cancel the reservation. When we arrived, they offered a two-bed room in the hotel at an extra price. I was pretty miffed and it didn’t seem very hospitable at all to hold us to the reservation when the room wasn’t even available! The kindness and helpfulness of the front desk staff woman (didn’t get her name) however was top notch which helped rebuild my trust. The room was also very nice (there was a sitting area and library on the floor that we really loved). Another weird thing is that they wouldn’t let us order the small breakfast buffet unless we reserved 1 day in advance (?). We could sit in the restaurant and enjoy eating ala carte right next to buffet table, but we could not eat/order the buffet. How odd!
