Long Cove Resort and Marina

Staff was very helpful. The property was clean but was dated. No pool, no bath house and minor issues with readiness of our lodging.

Overall, our stay was very enjoyable! The marina is very easy to locate and very private. The cabins are cute and within a close walk to the beach. There is even a fire pit on the beach that guests are free to use with plenty of firewood nearby. Unfortunately, the cabin we stayed in had no hot water which was not ideal, but we only stayed one night so it wasn't a huge deal. We had a hard time with the Wi-Fi too but we're also in the middle of the woods so that's to be expected. Downtown Charlotte is within a twenty-minute drive so it's a good place to stay if you're looking to still experience the city but not stay within it.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise to find this treasure in Charlotte. Needed a few days away and found this place. Beautiful, clean cabins, great beach, pool and right on Lake Wylie. Can’t wait to go here again!

The property was very clean and the houses are very well maintained. The swimming pool was not operational. The road into the property is horrible they need to work on paving the entrance. The check in didn't go well we arrived after 5:30 pm and the office was closed and there was some difficulties getting checked in but eventually they got it straight. The views to the lake are beautiful very serene. I highly recommend this place. For the cosst it is hard to beat. The pros out weigh the cons.

This place has potential but is way over sold in the description. It's a gravel parking lot with tiny homes. While the home itself is okay, I couldn't get past the bugs in the carpet of the upstairs landing. We'd planned to put our teen on a pallet there, as our other teen had the 2nd bedroom, but the carpet was disgusting. The next option was the couch that folds down to a bed BUT there were multiple stains and crumbs in the seams. There was an outdoor grill, but no lighter or matches, not the end of the world as I was able to ask around & use someone's. The real issue was there was no cutting board, cutting knife or steak knives!! Not one sharp utensil to be found. Our tiny home did not have a lake view, only one row does, no porch, and the only outdoor seats were 2 chairs with a view of a small dumpster. The saving grace for us is that we were in this area to visit The Whitewater Center and location wise this worked, but I would not stay here again. It probably should have been a sign when pulling up to the office we were greeted with the abdoned, empty swimming pool that looked like it hasn't been used in a decade!! This place either needs to do some upgrading or lower it's rates.

The pool is a duck pond, the beachfront and walkway up to the cabins are littered with trash, the cabin itself was not properly cleaned. Other guest were drunk and screaming all night. Air conditioning in our cabin was one of these window-mounted units that make a terrible noise, so you can't sleep with it on and you can't sleep becuase of the heat without it either. Office only staffed 3-5pm.

The parking space no so good for certain cabins. Then all good. The grill should be one for each cabin but may be in the future it can happen. Otherwise, everything looks so beautiful, quiet and safe. Very peacefull. I highly recomended! Specialy if you want to have a nice and relax time away with your Family.

Positives…cute cabin, air conditioner worked great, and good location. We got to our cabin and the key wasn’t in the lockbox and the cabin hadn’t been cleaned. No problem, the guy at check in got us into another cabin quickly. The loft hadn’t been vacuumed and the fridge was leaking…husband fixed that, all good. We went to the dock to fish and there were metal rods everywhere and the dock and boat slips were falling apart, we worked through it. What really bothered us was the website, all the advertising, says they have jet skis and boats…that’s false. They have no jet skis and 1 boat which was under maintenance and unavailable the 4 days we were there. Renting jet skis and a boat was main reason we stayed there! We won’t stay there again and I hope they do something about the condition of the property…it could really be something special.

Overall this was a nice spot. It was good for a single day staycation. I must say that the taxes/fees were nearly as much as the nightly rate, but what can you do. Aside from that, I had 4 issues; 1 kind of major. We had 2 vehicles, and we were charged for 1 car, the pool is under renovation, so good luck with that, there were bottles scattered in a couple places, but it was a Friday night, so I get it. The major issue I had was the sewage smell emanating from our tub/bathroom. I believe this could've been an issue with the trap, so I reported it, but the office didn't seem too excited or motivated to look into the matter. The smell was very noticeable, but only after the water was running... hopefully I wasn't washing in gray water. 😬

You are charged a “resort fee” and the majority of the amenities are not available. The pool is closed for renovation (was never stated in the booking). We rented 2 kayaks ($25/person) and they were dirty and wet and the life jackets they had were so old they had holes and the inside was full of water- they only had 2 available.There is an outdoor facility that has a bathroom with showers- absolutely disgusting it was full of flies and cockroaches. Upon checking out, I mentioned that the blanket on the bed was visibly dirty and stained and also had a bad odor. The response I got was “sorry about that”. The staff have no customer service skills and act like they could care less if you have a good stay or not. I’m super bummed because I was looking forward to staying here, but will never be returning nor would I recommend this place to anyone. For the same cost or less you can stay at a much nicer resort and have amenities that you can actually use.

It was a cute tiny house cabin we stayed for 2nights. I have a 3stars because the cabin was dirty the floor was dirty as well as bedcovers and shower from bathroom. Getting there the road was bumpy but not a big deal. The lake as well had a lot of sticks from the hurricane but the following day it was clean. We were going to stay 3days but we ended up doing 1 due to the cleanliness not being good I did ask at the front desk if I could get a refund for not staying the full days there and she said no 👎 there also was no water usually places like this provide drinking water the lake is 1min walk and they also have movie night on Fridays

Worse stay ever, i got there check in and we left to eat and go to Walmart! When back to the cabin about 1230am and at 130am we leaving because there was roaches all in the kitchen area/ living room area!

Great little cabin on the lake. Very clean and cute!

I contacted the property repeatedly for a week with no resolution. From arrival, concerns arose—the driveway was in poor condition, setting a negative tone. Most frustratingly, we were not placed in the cabin we reserved (Cabin 19), which was advertised with a porch, deck, and lake view. Instead, we were assigned Cabin 9 without explanation, despite Cabin 19 being visibly unoccupied during our stay. Staff said they’d escalate the issue and try to move us, but no follow-up occurred. The cabin itself was in poor condition: the kitchen table was peeling, chairs were unstable, and the futon was stained, sagging, and uncomfortable. The bed had hair on the sheets, a sagging mattress without a protector, and flat pillows. Outside, the area was dirty—cigarette butts, bottle caps, and filthy chairs sitting in mud. We had no internet all weekend, and the TV didn’t work. Though we were promised maintenance, they arrived late and only replaced the TV. The internet remained broken. Across the property, conditions were poor and safety was an issue. Hammocks were fraying, the fireplace was falling apart, and trash littered the beach and walkways. A fire ant hill sat on the beach, and paths to the lake were steep, slippery, and hazardous. I tripped over exposed roots and wires near our cabin. General upkeep was lacking, with broken rails, sagging decks, and debris throughout.

Gross property! Had bed bugs, cockroaches and many more bugs coming through the house in all the cracks! Please stay away!

Loved it. Beats a hotel and usually for less. Was very quiet and peaceful. Swim beach and cabins were nice. Pretty sure they dont wash the sheets or do a poor job though. Found mutliple hairs on my bed and in the sheets. Also had a roach. Other than that it was really clean and didnt smell like smoke.

Private stay clean cabin with accessories Bed wasn't too comfortable but overall great

This was an interesting stay. Each cabin is different but the listings all look the same when you book. The cabin was advertised as having a lake view - and it does, but barely and only from a certain angle. This particular cabin that I reserved could barely see the lake. Instead, we had a better view of an old camper with lots of in/out traffic at odd times of the day and a broken deck and discarded trash and patio furniture. Beyond the view, the cabin itself was generally clean. We did have some security concerns. There is a dehumidifier in one bedroom that isn't properly vented. There are towels stuffed around the screen with dead bugs. Literally anyone could walk up and push the window up and be inside. There is more evidence that the place has had some mold/mildew issues. There are soft spots throughout the cabin in the floor. At the front door there is a spot where someone (not us) stepped all the way through the floor and they covered it with a rug. In the shower there is a soft spot that we feared could give away at any moment. The handle to turn the shower on is also backwards, so well took freezing showers the first day. The next day we turned the knob to cold and surprisingly found the water got hot. The tv signal was terrible. The beach area was a cool feature of the property. There was a lot of trash in that area, but we were sensitive to the fact that the hurricane a few weeks ago could have caused that.

Family Cabin #8 was exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay on Lake Wiley! The “tiny” cabin was snug but perfectly cute and cozy, and the view from our bed was everything you could want on an Autumn day or night! The grounds were homey & picturesque, with natural beauty everywhere you turned! Management was friendly, helpful, and very responsive, even outside of office hours! We will certainly be back!

Overall the property was nice and quiet. Very peaceful. The television did not work. They have a Roku, but it was constantly going in and out, so I was not able to watch TV. The Wi-Fi also went in and out. There was issues with insects being inside the unit, but I attribute that to being in the woods close to a river and the rain.

The last two times we stayed here we had difficulty with the air unit. Last time we were there was first week in April of last year, and the heat was not working. It took a total of 2 hours to have problem resolved, and resolved around 9:30pm after a long time travelling and with children. This last visit was just a few weeks ago. The air unit started spittting out ice chunks and was not heating the room. This happened at 7pm and though the emergency phone number was quick to respond, the told me it would be at least an hour and half for maintenance to arrive as they are off site. We declined given we needed to be up early and slept in a very hot room. The next morning at 5am, the power went out which means there is no running water or plumbing and that was not resolved before we packed up and left by 8:30 am. Needless to say, this was all very upsetting. Our children love staying here as the facilities are clean and right on the water and they love the loft/bunkbeds. However, we cannot risk another a/c, water, and then plumbing failure. Also, no one contacted us for any type of reimbursement.

The night we arrived there was a terrible storm, so that didnt help. The cabin was cute and clean - air conditioning was a challenge in main bedroom, which spent all evening warming, the cooling after the very loud window mounted initbwould kick on...which was very frequent Would be nice properties for groups renting units side by side Check in was not optimal - i left early to get there before 5pm, and no one was in office Wr paid for a waterfront unit and were taken to a unit much firther away (after I complained they moved me to a true waterfront unit) Responses to my emials were very slow

Property has a beautiful view of the lake. There are a lot of bees and wasp. If you have a known allergy do not come to this property. Management is not properly removing nests bees/wasps. Outside of the units are poorly maintained including broken and dirty Adirondack chairs. Inside of the unit is clean. The bed is less to be desired and more like a camp bed on a thin metal frame. If you are large or tall person, you may find it hard to maneuver around. In my opinion the property does not have enough lighting at nighttime. Yes my unit had a nice porch light but the walk to other units, etc is very dark. The property called me at 12:26pm the day of my reservation to ask my expected arrival time. The young lady failed to notify me that if I was going to be later than 5:30pm, that I need to call to get the code for access to my unit. We got stuck in traffic so we arrived an hour later than expected. I did receive an email from the property at 12:38 pm on my arrival date informing me of the office only being open from 3-5pm. However, I was driving so I didn't receive the email. Luckily, another guest in my group called me and told me that the office was closing soon and to call and get my code for my unit. This process needs to be managed better. When the representative called, she should have informed me of the policy. Anything can happen during travel and arrivals may not go as planned.

The cabins were nice for the cost. There was plenty of room in a two bedroom for our family. My biggest complaint is that it was so hot inside

Unique property. Tiny houses give privacy with amenities of a hotel. Very clean. We enjoyed our stay. The property mangement was very reaponsive to any questions.

We stayed there for 1 night, and although the little cabin was so cute, THERE WAS NO RUNNING WATER OR AC!!!! It was over 90 degrees when we were there and there was no working AC. The fridge did not work. We could not shower because there was no running water. This is a great location and I would not be as upset, BUT, when I called the property directly the manager has been dodging my calls. I have emailed multiple times, called multiple times a week for the past month, and each time I am told that the manager is not around or that he had already called me back (he has not!). It is BARE MINIMUM to have running AC and water in a place that people are paying to stay at. This terrible service was extremely disapointting and I would not reccomend this place to anyone.

The property is very nice and the beach area is lovely. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed that our cabin on lakefront with private deck, was not available. We were put in a cabin with no deck and no view of the water in the back of the property. We were not compensated for the downgrade, just offered a shrug and “yeah, sorry about that.” The bedrooms were also extremely warm at night despite the 3 portable ac units running constantly. Additionally, the unit was not stocked very well. There was no foil, oil to cook with, no cutting board or steak knives, grill tools, etc. and only a single pot and pan with no lids. Despite these complaints, the place is very friendly and quiet and beautiful. The geese are delightful to sit with and my goodness we witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets on the water.

We stayed in the houseboat and it was a great experience. Very easy check in, great location- secluded but not too far from anything. We visited the whitewater center nearby and had the best time.

Nice view of lake wylie. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay there. Only 5 mins away from shopping and restaurants and about 20 mins from I77. I recommend this place when visiting the Carolinas.

I really enjoyed my stay. The cabin was nice and the property itself was nice. The only complaint I have is the road leading to the resort. It is very bumpy and could be paved. I will come again and bring my children.

The property does have an excellent view of lake Wylie. The 1/2-mile road leading to the property is awful. It is mostly a single line road with numerous potholes. It is the worst paved road I have seen. At a quick look glance, the place looks ok. At a closer look, the property and tiny houses they are renting are in need of serious repairs. This place has not been kept up for some time. The unit we rented had two small AC units. One worked and other one sometime worked. The first night staying there we were woken up at 11:15 pm by the trash truck emptying the dumpster. The next morning at 6:45 am we were woken up by the loss of all electrical power and water to the entire property. At 8:00 am we were woken up again by lawn mowers right outside of your bedroom. Sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 pm the power and water was restored. The bathroom sink was about to fall off the wall. The shower drain was very slow to drain. At the end of my shower, there was 4 to 5 inches of water in the bottom of the shower. I happened to notice one of the windows was unlocked. I checked all of the windows and 3/4 of them were unlocked. It is so unfortunately with the excellent views of lake Wylie this place has and it to be a dump.

The driveway leading up to the check in office, and the parking lot, is littered with pot holes. Hard to navigate and narrow.
