Staff were brilliant and menu fine and very reasonably priced. Spa was a bonus, especially the pool but will soon need refurbishing. Real ale, Otter, nice surprise. Down side was the EV charging, which was essential for us. When I phoned Project no one was in the office.This is not acceptable. They rang me back 24 hours later!

Availability of rooms meant we had to book a triple room. Unfortunately we landed room 83 and the location of it was terrible. Across the corridor are 2 lifts so we were woken by activity in them and over exuberant guests. Adjacent is the Gents loo with the hand dryer blaring through the wall. Just along is the kitchen where noise is obvious but it is also accompanied by loud music sometimes. Additionally you do not need to be in the bar areas to be party to the music or entertainment - it is all very clearly heard from the room. We were also woken one morning to the answerphone in Reception being checked. So the psychotic shower which continually switched from hot to cold was the least of our concern. Room 83 is not a fit location for guests and had we been asked by the Assistant Manager how our stay was when we checked out we’d have been delighted to share this feedback in person and play some of the recordings made of the noise we were hearing from the room. A distracting annoyance is that the bar area plays different music to the adjacent seating area and reception, even when there is entertainment on. A lady last night remarked on her lack of concentration on a conversation due to having Whitney Houston music behind her but Earth, Wind and Fire music from in front of her. Simple appreciation and observation of the ambience would really help the hotel. The swimming pool and spa facilities were lovely and definitely made the stay.

Room 83 is not a fit location for guests and had we been asked by the Assistant Manager how our stay was when we checked out we’d have been delighted to share this feedback in person and play some of the recordings made of the noise we were hearing from the room. A distracting annoyance is that the bar area plays different music to the adjacent seating area and reception, even when there is entertainment on. A lady last night remarked on her lack of concentration on a conversation due to having Whitney Houston music behind her but Earth, Wind and Fire music from in front of her. Simple appreciation and observation of the ambience would really help the hotel. The swimming pool and spa facilities were lovely and definitely made the stay.

The room was good size , well equipped and comfortable, the shower however was a little disappointing with intermittent hot/cold water The staff were helpful and the pool and spa were fantastic, the best steam room I’ve ever been in Easy accessible to the beach and station All in all a lovely stay

Lovely old hotel, lovely big rooms. Unfortunately only one of our four windows could be opened. The room was stifling hot despite turning the radiators off. Staff all seem lovely. A few things let the hotel down really. Shower kept going hot and cold. A worrying old lift which clunked and banged. Our breakfast were held too long before serving as tomatoes were dried, the scrambled eggs were dried and crusty, but the food itself were nearer lukewarm than hot. The breakfast on the second morning was much better but looked a little lost on a big plate. Bar ran out of cider but l guess it’s the end of their busy season. Barman could do with training though. My beer had almost a quarter of glass of head!

So quite a big hotel in good location in Paignton. Plenty of free parking and EV charging on site. Staff all very friendly and helpful (we were initially given the wrong type of room but this was quickly rectified). Room was decent size, clean and had everything we needed. Bathroom and bedroom generally looking a bit tired and dated but given the price, we couldn’t be too picky. Had breakfast on one of the days. It was reasonable but the cooked breakfast was quite small so we felt it didn’t represent great value for money for the £12 ea it cost, particularly if you were very hungry. Overall enjoyed the stay for the price paid and would return if we were coming back to Paignton.

Lovely hotel although very dated in places but very charming. Some areas need attention but nothing to spoil our stay. The pool and spa are at an extra cost if you’re not staying half board and there is also a charge for the lockers, not what we would have expected.

Welcoming staff, fabulous pool facilities and the real bonus was first rate entertainment. Magician and cabaret on a Sunday night was a perfect way to round of a weekend stay.

It's a traditional, classy hotel. Service can be a little stretched at reception but the quality of the staff generally is a cut above the average for this grade of hotel. The restaurant is a reslly good experience. Although the menu is slightly limited the quality of the ingredients and the presentation is superb. The breakfast is full of choices and variety (with the exception of kippers as I recall - and possibly porridge...). The presentation is excellent again although cooking your own toast doesn't fit with the otherwise classy experience. There's plenty of free parking for guests, it's close to the shops, it's opposite the pier and it's a charming and elegant place to take a break. Paignton is lovely too.

Absolutely outstanding Hotel 🏨 and surroundings I can only imagine if I took a tour how more wow it would be, staff exceptional friendly and accommodating! Cleanliness of room, dust on top of cupboards a bit lazy! Some tiles in bathroom cracked needs addressing asap , room 45 asap!! Outside the hotel as you enter the pillars and archways need a jet wash full of bird poo very unattractive to say the least. The worst comes last £40 charge for my pets without no prior warning ⚠️ or knowledge! Some issues that need addressing! To make anyone’s experience a complete package 📦! I am so happy we stayed with you & we are very happy to come again as we felt so welcomed and loved 🥰 The grounds are kept to an amazing standard hats off to the up keepers!!! The singer a lady sang a song gave me goose bumps all the way through OMG Cake was lovely and thank you for the gift 🎁 Thank you for topping my beer up and making an extra effort the following evening & reading my mind likewise 😉 Stunning experience Impressive Would recommend to anyone especially if you change the sausages at breakfast time😂 :))) Thank you so much for everything Teddy&Dogs

A lovely little stay in Devon for a one night business trip. Location is excellent and service and staff were wonderful. The hotel is quite old-fashioned but does the trick and there seems to be a lot happening in terms of entertainment. Overall, it was great value for money. My only complaint is in room 9; it needs a little bit of TLC. There were dust webs on the ceiling, the shower was far too hot and I couldn’t turn it down, and the blinds in the bathroom were broken, I ended up having to put a towel up to the window for some additional privacy. I would definitely stay again but those finer details just need ironing out.

The service at the Palace Hotel is exceptional. All the staff are polite and friendly while remaining professional. Our room was clean (as was the hotel overall) and extremely comfortable. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

The property is impressive from the outside, but not worthy of 4*. The room was showing its age, The bath sheet had freyed edges, cups didn't match, cheapest of cheap coffee,tea. One pack of biscuits between two people, Plastic cups for bathroom. Fan didnt work. Staff all nice and polite etx but the room's definitely not worthy of £120 a night.

Perfect location and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely big room with sea views, (see picture), king sized comfortable bed and bay window with arm chairs and coffee table, which added to the ambience. A lovely stay for my birthday, thank you

Lovely hotel in a great position, clean rooms, it was extremely hot though and no air con or fan provided. Nice big smart tv in the room also tea & coffee facilities. We had a sea view overlooking the pier. Breakfast was average, they need to have warm plates though as the beans were stone cold when I got to the table but I think they were cold when I put them on my plate! Plenty of choice for breakfast that was self service. We used the swimming pool as well, had an hour slot that was pre booked, had to pay an extra £5 for this as we were only bed and breakfast. Overall pleased with our stay here.

Lovely old hotel, lovely big rooms. Unfortunately only one of our four windows could be opened. The room was stifling hot despite turning the radiators off. Staff all seem lovely. A few things let the hotel down really. Shower kept going hot and cold. A worrying old lift which clunked and banged. Our breakfast were held too long before serving as tomatoes were dried, the scrambled eggs were dried and crusty, but the food itself were nearer lukewarm than hot. The breakfast on the second morning was much better but looked a little lost on a big plate. Bar ran out of cider but l guess it’s the end of their busy season. Barman could do with training though. My beer had almost a quarter of glass of head!

Perfect location and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely big room with sea views, (see picture), king sized comfortable bed and bay window with arm chairs and coffee table, which added to the ambience. A lovely stay for my birthday, thank you

The service at the Palace Hotel is exceptional. All the staff are polite and friendly while remaining professional. Our room was clean (as was the hotel overall) and extremely comfortable. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

It was very nice, staff very friendly. Although one evening we had a snack and had to keep asking for things such as cutlery and salt etc which should really have been brought over before.

It's a traditional, classy hotel. Service can be a little stretched at reception but the quality of the staff generally is a cut above the average for this grade of hotel. The restaurant is a reslly good experience. Although the menu is slightly limited the quality of the ingredients and the presentation is superb. The breakfast is full of choices and variety (with the exception of kippers as I recall - and possibly porridge...). The presentation is excellent again although cooking your own toast doesn't fit with the otherwise classy experience. There's plenty of free parking for guests, it's close to the shops, it's opposite the pier and it's a charming and elegant place to take a break. Paignton is lovely too.

A last minute booking for a business trip. What a great find. Fantastic Staff, both at Checking & out, and also in the restaurant. Also the food was not only very tasty, but great value. This will be my go to place when I am in this area.

Although very nice hotel, I was initially put out as the key I was given, there was already someone in that room! Although the situation was sorted, being a customer service industry I would have expected a little more empathy from the desk clerk.

The room was good size , well equipped and comfortable, the shower however was a little disappointing with intermittent hot/cold water The staff were helpful and the pool and spa were fantastic, the best steam room I’ve ever been in Easy accessible to the beach and station All in all a lovely stay

The hotel was very clean and the staff were polite. I used the leisure facilities which were fine. The evening entertainment was excellent and the older folk absolutely loved it including myself. Breakfast was well organised and the food was really good.

If you are over 75 this is the place for you. Unfortunately I am not!! Don't be tricked in to booking in for dinner the restaurant was not as busy as we were lead to believe. There are some great places within walking distance. Breakfast was a bit disappointing there are a lot of supplements on items (you have to pay more). We were also woken up at 0700 both morning by someone slamming a door several times below our room which I think was the kitchen.

The hotel and room were very clean, the bed very comfortable and the hotel was in a good location to shops and beach. The only downside was lack of staff, the reception team made us feel like we were causing them and inconvenience when checking out and the lack of service at the bar was appalling we would have spent longer at the bar and brought more drinks if someone had been there to serve us. One member of staff walked behind the bar and our glasses were empty she then just walked past us and back out not even asking if we wanted another drink, it was very disappointing.

Tired 'club double' room in need of a complete refresh. Overnight technical breakdown resulted in no hot water throughout the hotel during the first morning. Note that the indoor pool is small (3 able to swim at one time) and slots have to be booked in advance rather than turn up & use.
