The location right on the beach is great, especially that it is the largest one in the area. However, not the best for surfing, punta uva is better. The open air kitchen has everything and works great. We had the double bunk room and it was very comfortable but a bit small, overall fine! About 2min bike from grocery which is great, and ~8min from downtown Puerto Viejo. Unfortunatly the hostel restaurant prices (and drinks) are too high for the backpacker crowd, so the only social happens in the kitchen/eating area. I would suggest the hostel bring their prices down and most likely make more on volume. Would have loved too have some beers/food there, but prices were better elsewhere. Overall, it was a great week and we would recommend!
