Dont stay Dubious stains on headboard, sheets didn’t smell clean and had a really dodgy stain Old weird beach towels, rough unfolded probably old sheets in drawer, no soap in soap dispenser Basically no one would stay so we left - we couldn’t have stayed even if the changed air and cleaned headboard - as the thought was enough No refund so far Expedia are sorting it We booked the ibis in Alençon Impeccably clean - recommend Ibis

We booked last minute on our way travelling through France. The room was incredible, very clean, lovely decor. The location is breathtaking and the breakfast was amazing. Unbelievable value for money.

Make sure you know what you’re getting from Expedia as it differs from the photo. Had we have known the family room we were offered was up 2 flights of stairs one being a wobbly spiral staircase we would have opted for something else. No staff on site on arrival, travel cot provided was broken.

Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. Our room was comfortable and clean, good shower, and a small kitchenette. It's a good idea to take your own tea, coffee and milk with you. Continental breakfast was good and delivered to our room at the time we requested. A good guide book in English of what to do in the area was left in our room, but perhaps the only disadvantage of the place is that it is quite isolated and a long way from any any restaurants. Overall, a lovely place, and we'd recommended it.
