A Complete Health Hazard – Please Read Before Booking My family and I visit Vermont five to six times a year. We love this state, which makes writing this deeply saddening. Our experience at the Hideaway Inn Mt. Snow on September 5, 2026, was a horrifying exception to the wonderful hospitality we are accustomed to in Vermont. I am writing this to warn any families considering a stay: please look elsewhere. The moment we walked into our room, we were met with utterly unsanitary conditions. The absolute worst part was when our four-year-old found a pair of dirty, discarded women’s underwear left on the floor. The bathroom was just as neglected, the shower mat was covered in loose hair and grime, and there were unexplained red splatters running down the walls. Because the room was completely uninhabitable, we immediately informed the staff we were leaving. Instead of an apology, the manager was incredibly unhelpful. She did not give us her name and flat-out denied my request to provide a receipt confirming my refund request. We had to scramble to book an emergency hotel for over $200 a night. After spending an hour texting Hotels.com, they told us to wait 72 hours. Six days have passed with zero communication from the hotel or the booking site. Do not put your family's health at risk. Avoid this property completely.

We had a great experience here, well thought out instructions are provided for the electronic check in and room key. No staff (you do not need anyone), very clean and large room. Beautiful property, two very large downstairs living areas with nice amenities (espresso coffee and tea maker), lots of seating and games) and a gorgeous view. Lovely gated on-site pool area. This property is perfect for my dog, who loves to play fetch. Grounds are groomed.

Even the bates motel had staff. This place has so much potential. The biggest issue is no one works here. There was one woman who cleaned the rooms in the morning who was very friendly. But there was no one on site at all. This place really needs staff. The pool was so dirty you couldn’t go into it. No ice in the ice machine. But if there was staff in I’m sure these things would have been fixed. They did a great job on the common areas. The rooms need a little help though. Ours smelt like wet dog although the room was very clean. It was a decent stay however for one night. If we were booked longer we would’ve found another place.
