The renovations were inspiring. Wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fire pit and new patio. Greatly appreciated the upgrade and checking that the junior suite had a bathtub. Breakfast was lovely, though we were expecting a fruit cup included. Thank you for the toast. It is a must with eggs benny and tea ;o) Your dining room staff was lovely too. So glad you had the history of the property in different locations to read.

I would rate it higher but during my visit there was construction so outdoor area Wasn’t great. One of the beds in our room was needing replacement as it was concave. Breakfast and staff were all great. Good location.

We had a lovely stay, room was a good size, bed was very comfortable. Great cooling system in the bedroom and heater in the bathroom. The staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious with several hot choices. It was walking distance to restaurants if you don’t want to eat here. Free parking is always a bonus.

Breakfast was excellent!! Staff was polite and always willing to help. Our room was not as nice as I had hoped for, for the price. The bed needs a new mattress and I felt the room could have been cleaner. I think maybe some of the other rooms might have been better.

Great management. Gave great recommendations for area. Room was comfortable with large updated bathroom. Breakfast was very good with many options to choose from. Only complaint was carpet in room showed several dirty areas. Needs to be replaced or cleaned. Overall stay was lovely.

This is a beautiful old Inn that has been well kept and updated. We stayed for 4 nights in room 5 of the main building, and the bed was very comfortable, all was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was in the restaurant and food was excellent, service was also excellent. We come twice a year and have stayed at a number of the other Inns near by, this is my favourite so far, and I will be back again in the new year. :)

Room was in the annex or "carriage house". Clean & quiet but bathroom could use a sprucing up, especially the caulking on top of the sink as we watched a bug of some kind exit from the crack!

Tattingstone is a lovely old inn with modern updates. The suite I was in was in the new addition, with high ceilings, lots of tall windows. The rooms were spacious, the furnishings a nice blend of modern and traditional. Great bathroom! Freestanding tub and walk in shower with both rain and handheld showerheads. It looks like it's been designed with accessibility in mind.

I highly recommend Tattingstone Inn! It's a really lovely place in a charming town well located in Nova Scotia. The included breakfast was nice as well. We stayed in a unique room that they describe as "rustic", which is reasonable. It was a bit cramped, though, with noisy A/Cs, a very small TV, and a tiny table that held the mini-fridge, coffee machine and more. It was truly a unique stay, but I'd probably pick a more traditional room next time. It was hard to know what to expect. That being said, we really liked the place & would happily go back!

We had an okay experience. Our room was clean and comfortable. The way the staff make you feel is not so good. Perhaps, the biggest mistake is the rigidity of breakfast which is strictly by individual time slots. This may work for the hotel but our observation and personal experience is that it doesn’t always work for a guest who is on holiday and may be needing to leave at a certain time to catch flights. Due to the fact we had a flight on our check out day we waited to speak to the lady who seemed to be in charge at breakfast yesterday morning (we think she may be the owner) and asked if we could have an earlier time slot this morning for breakfast as we needed to get away for our flight. She asked us if 7:45am would work and we said it would. We saw her write it down on a piece of paper. When we arrived at 7.45am this morning we were told that our breakfast time is 8.30am. We said that we had requested the earlier time yesterday and were seated. However, we waited for 25 minutes and our food still had no signs of arriving. This is despite a very large party of cyclists in Lycra who we saw order after us being served their food. In the end we had to leave without breakfast. When we went to checkout the lady (same one who seemed to think we were misbehaving by arriving early to breakfast) was very odd. There was no comment like - “we hope you had a nice stay” or “thanks for staying with us we hope to see you soon” or any normal pleasantries. It is just an odd sort of place.

The problem we encountered was that we booked a wine tour with the property and this was cancelled after we checked in. We were told the wineries were not doing tours. Every winery we visited told us this was not true. We were going to book a tour with another company but the property said we could do it through them. We could not book after we checked in. I will never recommend that anyone book a tour through this facility.

The property itself was beautiful and the dining room stunning - I had only breakfast and it was good as well. However, the sheets need an upgrade as do the towels (non absorbent). Check in staff was very proper, no smiles, need to lighten up! Caution if you book Toad Hall, I am only 5'3" tall and banged my head several times on the loft bedroom ceiling.

Mixed feelings about the Inn. On one hand, my "room" - Toad hall, was like a miniature carriage house, with tons of character and a neat downstairs/upstairs layout. The main Inn was beautiful as well and convenient to town. Breakfast was fine and fast in the morning. On the other hand, I had three different people tell me not to put my bike (traveling by bicycle) in the room during check-in. This after I had already both emailed them and verbally confirmed at check-in that they had a place for me to keep my bike while I was there, so I was obviously not planning to bring the bike into my room. I was shown a place to put it (a kitchen storage room) which worked, but later charged an extra $10 for this without being told there'd be a charge and never being charged any other place I stayed over two weeks. This soured my stay slightly, giving me an overall negative opinion of the establishment, unfortunately

The gentleman who assisted us with the evening check-in went above and beyond to help us. The full menu breakfast, which was included in our stay, was delicious. Michelle and the waitstaff at breakfast were kind and attentive and started our day off on the right foot.

I have stayed at the Tattingstone Inn several times over the last few years and each time has been delightful. The place is charming and comfortable and the staff are friendly and efficient. The buildings and the grounds are so pleasant I immediately felt at home. I highly recommend Tattingstone

Tattingstone is a beautiful Boutique Hotel. The room was top notch and the service was impeccable. We had the 6 course tasting menu for dinner and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Thanks Steven and Christie for making our weekend extra special.
