Spruce Lane Lodge and Cottages

We've stayed here quite a few times, and enjoy it, it's quiet off the road and local to everything. The ice machine needs attention

This place has only virtual check-in but that went fairly well. We arrived after dark and had trouble seeing the numbers on the Cottages, but the person on the phone was patient and stayed on the phone until we were settled inside. The cottage was a duplex and the accommodation we had was very large and very clean and very comfortable. In the morning when we could look around, we found the area very nice. it is next to a small airport, but it was quiet at night and we did not hear much during the daytime either although we didn't spend a lot of time in the cottage during the day anyway. The Cottages are very well maintained and attractive and there was plenty of parking. They are well off the main road so you don't hear any traffic noise. There is a small shopping mall adjacent to the property where you can get coffee and food. It is also within about 10 minutes of all the local attractions.

Very clean! No problems booking another night!! However I do wish the vending machine and ice were available. Or maybe a couple bottles of water in fridge.

Nice, quiet place to stay. We left a trailer dropped there and never felt like it was not safe. The virtual check in was fine. If you need anything you just call. Would stay there again. They really need to put some rubber feet on the beds if they are going to use vinyl flooring. Lean back against the headboard to watch tv and the bed will go sliding out in the floor.

Nice and quiet. Convenient parking. Clean. My children enjoyed watching airplanes take off from the small airport behind the property.

These cottages have so much potential and you can tell they were once very nice. However, they are in need of some serious TLC. Upon entering the room, the first thing I noticed was the inside of the door was filthy. As we walked in further we noticed this was the case throughout the room. The walls and doors needed cleaned. The shower spigot was coming away from the wall and there was an outlet in the bathroom that was pulled out from the wall. It seems the rooms are cleaned on the surface level (toilets, bedding, the basics). The beds are hard and the pillows flat. Positives: the rooms are decorated very cute, the property is nice, ample parking, easy check in, good location and AC/fan worked great. Would I return? Probably not unless I noticed a major improvement from the customer reviews.

We had a good stay. The only thing we did not like was the fridge did not have a freezer.

Staff was accommodating. Room was clean all but the floor. Beds are squeaky every time you move and the roll which to me is a fall hazard. No ice available. Limited coffee and toilet paper. Otherwise, nice little place.

Parking was great, staff was great and the heat worked well.

Upon arrival the place was well decorated and bright in the room. However, the place was dirty and loud. The bathtub and wall had dirt and hair in it and there was a dirty washcloth hanging on the the curtain rod. The floor was dirty and sandy. The wall between the adjacent unit was very thin and the refrigerator was very loud. The TV was very small compared to the room. We did like being able to see the planes and helicopter land right near by. The grounds were very nice.

We had reservations in advance and upon arrival the property was very dimly lit and it was dark and very hard to see the cottage numbers. I was directed to cottage 61 and when I entered the cottage it was clear that it had not been cleaned. There were dirty towels in the bathroom and the garbage can was overflowing. I was then directed to cottage 63 and upon entry the beds were unmade and again the bathroom was littered with dirty towels. I was then told someone would have to call me back. I sat in my car for 15 minutes waiting for someone to return my call. I was informed that the property did not have any CLEAN cottages and I was sent to a completely different property 15 minutes away. I would definitely not recommend these cottages to any travelers coming to the Lancaster area

There was a spider in the bathroom, the beds were very old and squeaky and the sheets were not changed and had multiple long hairs. Do NOT recommend.

Rooms were dirty. Sheets had a lot of hair on them, under beds had lots of candy and trash.

Room and property were very clean but we were disappointed in the condition of our towels. Very stained and one even had a foot print on the shower towel mat. Wash cloths stained.. Disappointed as we are a repeat customer and have never seen this before..

Check in was easy but towels were stained, floor had mud, hair in the bath tub, tv didn’t work so had to plug it in a different outlet, and the remote was a bit clunky with the tape on the back

I liked the location. The room size was great. The rooms just need to be cleaner. The floors were a little dirty as well as the bathroom. Other then that, I was very pleased with the rooms.

The cottage was updated and spacious. I was a little disappointed that the floor was dirty it did not look like it was mopped. We did not meet anyone for the arrival but it was easy check in and out.

The only thing was the beds roll and are easy to cause an injury. Also, they squeaked alot.

Nice spacious room with a large bathroom. The room was clean, beds were not very comfortable and made too much noise when tossing and turning. Outside lightbulb was missing. Overall it was an ok place to stay.

the window blinds in the room were all broken, the air conditioning unit was partially broken and loud. The room looked recently renovated so this was a bit surprising. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and location was convenient.

Our room (no. 32 ), was clean but the mattresses on BOTH beds were horrible! They were hard and made loud, creaking noises if you happen to turn over in bed. We will not stay here again!

The only recommendation I have is that the window coverings were not sufficient to keep out bright sunlight and should have more substantial blinds installed. Additionally, several were broken and not functional.

Quiet, large rooms,

The room was terrific. The beds squeaked but were very comfortable. We both slept well.

Convenient location. Cute little cottages. Stayed in the king bed room and very spacious. If you need anything you just call a number and staff on site are very prompt and helpful.

Rooms were newly refurbished, Quiet two rooms per cottage. Refrigerator nade noise, so they moved us to the nexdoor room, coffee pot didn't work.

Couch was dirty but they did clean it when told. The heater/ACunit cover fell off and I called the office but they either didn’t understand or just didn’t care. The language barrier was an issue at times. Overall clean and plenty of linens available. Comfortable bed!

When we tried to check in, we called the number and got the code for the lockbox. The keys in the lockbox only opened the door handle but not the deadbolt. Nobody was available to unlock the deadbolt. Long story short, we were out of luck and had to scramble to find another place to stay for the night! We were not getting into this property, period. We were offered rooms at their sister property - which was a motel (we had paid for a 4 bedroom house with kitchen). Not an acceptable substitution and no financial concession for taking that option. They did agree to refund our full amount with no late cancellation fee when we didn't accept the sister property. Wow, thanks. Will see when the refund comes through...(it had better)

Cute cottages set back from the road. There is a small airport out back, more entertaining than bothersome because the planes are very small. The bathrooms are starting to show some signs of age. Please update your phone system, it is choppy so it's hard to hear what the office is telling you. Though the guy that I talked to was very helpful. We did enjoy our stay, thank you.

Did not have actual contact with staff. Check in was over the phone, but was quick. I'm always relaxed when I stay there

I had received emails prior to arrival on the "no contact" check in process at the cottage and the instructions said to call the phone number given upon arriving at the property for a lock box code for the entry door as the office would not be manned with a person. I had sent a message thru the text conformation during the day telling the approximate time of anticipated arrival and asked a question on what type of coffee pot was provided (kurig cups?) as to be prepared for hot coffee. No answer from the host. upon arriving at the property, as instructed I called the number listed in my reservation emails and after about 15 rings -no answer. The exterior light was on at the brick house that had an office sign, but no-one around,- waited a few minutes and called again , this time got an answering machine after 15 rings. I left a message to say that we had arrived and needed a lock box code and a unit number. waited 15 more minutes, knocked on the "office "door- no answer. Called again and left another message on the answering machine. After half hour, we left discouraged, drove about 5 miles to look for another property for our two night planned stay. After checking 2 other places, I finally received a call back (from a different number on the caller ID), so drove back to spruce cottages to be instructed to a dark porch at cottage 52. outside light didn't work. once inside, cracks and stains in the sink and tub, lumpy mattresses and very loud creaky beds, Minifridge had rust.

This is our third year staying. Nice size room clean convenient location. Perfect if they are having the balloon races. We will be back!

Was in a great location. We went to sight and sound and it was the perfect distance away. Bathroom clean. Could have used another box of tissues

I liked the cottage feel. Bed was comfortable. I didn’t like the small plane taking off at the airport next door at 6:45 in the morning on a Sunday.

Cute cottages set back from the road. There is a small airport out back, more entertaining than bothersome because the planes are very small. The bathrooms are starting to show some signs of age. Stayed just one night to go to AMT. Great location. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Lovely coffee shop right next door. Not a lot of amenities but perfect little spot for one or two nights. King mattress was not the best. Shower head need cleaning due to hard water. Nothing that would prevent me from staying again. Rustic and not your usual chain hotel. Very quaint.

We love Spruce Lane. It's our favorite place to stay when visiting the American Music Theater. We stayed in Cottage #52. The blinds need some love and the lamp shade is ready to go. Everything else was perfect. Highly recommended.
