Maikhao Palm Beach Resort - SHA Plus

The sea view room is good, and the balcony with bath is just amazing. But if there is air conditioning at the gym, this resort would be another grade.

The room was amazing and the pool is huge. The gym does not have AC or even a fan, so terrible! The staff is polite, but not preparey to answer customer questions. I asked for a coke at night and they couldn't sell it to me cause didn't have the key... When checking out, they didn't take the initiative to return my deposit. I'm pretty sure if you don't ask, they'll keep it. The location if you're planning to visit the main beaches and attractions is terrible... Everything is tooooo far. If you're planning not to go out and just relax is a perfect place.

Pros: Loved staying at this location. Nice and quite and relaxing. Beautiful beach across the road which was perfect for swimming. Positioned between two local Thai restaurants and a few market stalls nearby made for good eating/drinking. Staff were helpful with any requests. Cons: We were not fans of the buffet breakfast as the food was quite flavour less. There is a beautiful pool and swim up bar over looking the beach however it is not used/opened. Overall would definitely recommend to others as it is a great location if you want to relax without the hustle and bustle and awesome food places within easy walking distance.

Fint sted. Tror dog at det var lidt uden for sæson vi var der så alt kørte lidt i halvt gear. Baren havde ikke alt på menuen, og vandet i den ellers fantastiske pool, var snavset i enderne. Vandlandet blev også lukket ned en time før poolen lukkede. Maden var fin. Værelset var super. Dog manglede der lidt lys.

A beautiful hotel, which is sadly looking tired and needs work. There is so much to like- friendly, helpful and happy staff; beautiful pools; lovely surroundings (not the hotels fault there are derelict buildings in front of it); beautiful reception area. But there are many things which let it down. Lift was covered in hand prints and not cleaned in the two weeks we were there; price of food and drinks, especially bottled water is extortionate (10THB in supermarket - 60 THB in hotel); peeling paint in places; not enough sun beds and umbrellas around the pools. It needs a good shake-up if it wants to remain a 4star hotel. However, would we stay there again? Yes we would! Despite its faults we enjoyed our two weeks and already miss the beautiful bird song, the frog chorus, Koi Carp and smiling faces of the staff.

Lugnt paradis med fantastisk pool – men dyrt i drift Vi har haft en på många sätt helt utmärkt vistelse. Hotellet passar perfekt för dig som söker lugn och ro, men det finns ett par praktiska saker som kan vara bra att veta innan man bokar, särskilt för familjer. Det vi gillade mest: • Poolområdet: Detta var definitivt hotellets höjdpunkt! Poolområdet var riktigt bra, välskött och en perfekt plats för avkoppling. • Stranden: Hotellet ligger extremt nära havet, bara 100 meter bort. Stranden är inte en klassisk turiststrand, utan känns mer som en vacker 10k naturstrand. Det var otroligt skönt att slippa trängsel och störande solstolar – man fick verkligen vara i fred med naturen. • Service och rum: Allt på själva hotellet var toppen. Personalen var proffsig och rummen höll mycket hög standard. Några utmaningar under vistelsen: • Mat och priser: Området har ett väldigt begränsat restaurangutbud. De få ställen som finns är dessutom dyra – räkna med priser som är dubbelt så höga jämfört med Patong, Karon eller Kata. Det blir snabbt kostsamt om man stannar en längre tid. • Inte barnvänlig frukost: Frukosten kändes väldigt vuxenorienterad, vilket var en besvikelse för barnen. Det saknades generellt de där enkla alternativen som barn ofta föredrar. Sammanfattning: En fantastisk plats för dig som vill bo 100 meter från en orörd naturstrand och njuta av ett förstklassigt poolområde i lugn och ro. Var dock beredd på en högre prisbild för mat.

Hotellet lever tyvärr inte upp till sina 5 stjärnor eller de bilder som används som marknadsföring. En del av hotellet har aldrig blivit färdigställt och ytterligare delar av hotellet är avstängda sedan lång tid och tidens tand visar sig på stora delar av hotellet. Samtliga poolbarer var stängda och ett större poolområde övergivet sedan länge men med vatten som gör att det mer ser ut som en damm än en pool. Rummen var stora, rena och fina. Stranden var väldigt trevlig och fin.

Property is on the quiet part of the island and is not party town which is nice, but this makes relatively long trips for excursions. The beach is close across the street very nice, and a nice walk to the Siriat National Park. The ruins of the Tsunami damaged building remain, ugly. The inner walk of the hotel is nice with a nice view of the swamp along the walk beautiful. Pool is awesome and beautiful. Hotel restaurant is slow, expensive and runs out of menu items. Breakfast is good but eat off property for lunch and dinner.

Clean room and very spacious

静かで海も近いのは良かったです。 施設に複数不具合があり対応してくれましたが、 いくつかは我慢しました。 トイレ流れない、お湯出ない、ブレーカー落ちた、テラスのバスタブのお湯濁って途中で止まる、部屋の壁が湿度？で濡れていて荷物が濡れた、空調止まる　など。

Everything is old, worn out and doesn't work. Pool seems dirty and tiles are falling off. Generally very dirty and not at all cozy. So much noise all night, walls and especially door to rooms seem to be made of cardboard, so when people are talking on the hallway it sounds like they are standing right next to your bed. Food is horrible, and the restaurant area where breakfast is served reminds more of a mess in a prison.

The photos online give a false sense of how the property presents itself. The room, although very large wasn’t very clean and had an overwhelming smell of mildew like the air conditioning filters were damp and had probably never been replaced. The mood lighting gave a nice atmosphere but it was difficult to see in the bathroom space, was impossible to apply makeup in the dimness. The pool area and common spaces were run-down, water features not working were dank and all round the service disappointing.

The whole thing is a scam or looks nothing like the pictures. The room was dusty, and overall, it was not a great experience

Air conditioning faulty, cockroachers everywhere within the communal walking areas, swimmjng pool needed maintenance, most of the building looked liked it needed maintenance, reception staff miserable and unhelpful (completely unlike the beautiful culture) the breakfast was depressing.

Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The premises is lovely and the pool expands almost the entire property. A lovely beach is across the street. We did find the property a little outdated and needed some repairs, but nothing that impacted our stay. Our biggest complaint is that we opted for the breakfast buffet plan. It was 0630-1030 daily but everyday the food was exactly the same and if you were not there by 0900 hours at the latest food had run out and was rarely replenished resulting in people having to choose the "leftovers". Overall a good stay for the money.

Check-in was quick. However, the rooms are a bit dirty and had stains on the walls. A/C was smelly and could use a good cleaning. We had a lunch ala card and my wife did not eat her Fish salad because she doubted the freshness of the squid they used. The breakfast was OK. Outside the hotel you can walk a bit but no real activities. We stayed here our last in Phuket and we are happy we stayed only for one night. If this was a more expensive hotel the review would have been worse but you get what you paid for.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed my stay at Maikhao Palm Beach Resort! The property itself was very unique and beautiful, it was gorgeous! The room was lovely and well-maintained. The only thing that I did not love about this resort is that the area around it was rather run-down, meaning the walk to the beach and neighboring spaces were not enjoyable. This hotel is great for people looking to stay near the airport, but is not close to Phuket city or the south part of the island.

A very strange layout, perhaps due to the derelict building at the front, Tsunami damage? It means none of the rooms have sea views. The accommodation block is separate to the main hotel and is very long and narrow, it can be a long walk to breakfast. They've biult a lovely pool along the entire length which makes it jnteresting. It is a ery short walk to the beach.

This was a fabulous hotel the family room was really spacious with a wonderful bathroom and free standing bath- shower out of the world .

This place was ok. I expected it to be better for the rate I paid. Rooms, halways, reception area etc were dingy and outdated

Vi hade rummet med anslutning till poolen vilket va ett extremt fint rum! Stora och rymliga rum. Bra städad men städerskan kom väldigt sent på eftermiddagen (16-17) så hoppade över städning några gånger. Finns inget direkt att göra runt och i området så det va lite tråkigt men hotellet överlag va bra ! Stranden va ingen höjdare så vi höll oss vid poolen om dagarna.

Beautiful room, great swimming pool

Little run down, WiFi is patchy, the area around is dead - Mai Khao beach is a weird place - three derelict hotels next to this one, another being built but absolutely nothing in the area to do.

The rooms have very good mattresses and showers. The air con good, the curtains black out the morning sun. The Siamese reception and headboards are stunning. All a million miles from the rest of the non-architecture: pure home from home I’d imagine for your average member of the old USSR. Hundreds and hundreds of metres of austere buildings, the majority beside the ruins of a previous hotel. The surrounding area is dirty and derelict with only one venue in walking distance to lunch. All in all this hotel is ideal for brief travellers, plane spotters, a night or two before or after a flight, or if you are Russian. Hence the dominance of air crew and Russians. There is nothing wrong with this hotel if you just want to lay by the pool in the glorious sun for a week or two either.

La struttura é imponente. Dotata di tre piscine. Una lunghissima, una per bambini e un'altra nella zona ristorazione. Sono curate e pulite. Le camere sono appartamenti/camera. La doccia é formidabile. Il cambio lenzuola e tovaglie da bagno é, esageratamente, fatto quotidianamente. La colazione é buona, varia e abbondante. Noi avevamo la mezza pensione con cena. Insufficiente per varietá pur essendo abbondante. La frutta é sufficiente, ma non quello che ti aspetti. Il personale é gentile e disponibile. La reception funziona con rapiditá ed efficienza. Crab per gli spostamenti funziona bene ed é rapidissimo con area di sosta in prossimitá dell'hotel. Si può usufruire anche di un servizio di biciclette utile per muoversi nei dintorni ed andare, per esempio, al punto di atterraggio degli aerei che sfiorano la spiaggia. La spiaggia, contrariamente a quanto scritto in qualche recensione si trova lì, basta attraversare la strada.

Die Anlage macht einen verwahrlosten und ungepflegten Eindruck. Das Personal war sehr distanziert und man hatte nicht den Eindruck typisch Thailändischen Gastfreundschaft. Lage und Strand dagegen sehr gut

Clean spotless room great breakfast and lovely staff. We all had a great time

We arrived at night and when we saw the hotel entrance all lit up I said, OMG 😳, this is beautiful. Check in took ~ 15 minutes. Walking into our room took our breath away! Staff friendly & helpful and watching the sunset on the beach was awesome! Cheap Tuk-Tuk rides to nearby stores and outside restaurants. So fun to ride in them!!

This hotel has the potential to be a great hotel but unfortunately it fails in so many areas. The staff don’t speak English therefore translation can be a problem. Food - it’s okay and basic but only caters to a limited audience. Advice do not ask to change a dish as they will get confused about what to change and give you anything - asked for mushrooms on a cheese pizza got carrots and cauliflower not sure how that happened. And don’t bother eating here if your a vegetarian Staff are polite at times but don’t catch them towards the end of their week as they get really snappy and to add to that you will have to ask the cleaners to clean everything and change the bed covers as they do not it without being asked. The hotel is located so far from everything you will pay a fortune in cabs unfortunately no good words to say about this place apart from the male drivers who take you up and down to your room are very polite and sweet

Amazing resort with friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful pools and beach. Thai massage was outstanding. The staff remembered us and went above and beyond. Special thanks to our housekeeper who was awesome and we appreciated the Christmas morning gifts. Highly recommend.

Great location by the beach but limited food options nearby. Recommend stopping at the convenient store before arriving at the property for snacks and drinks because there isn’t a store close by or on property. Fun to watch the airplanes land over you just a mile away.

This property is beautiful in a nice quiet location just across from the beach. The hotel itself it’s faultless and very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit here again.

Sehr sauber. Ruhige und abgelegene Lager aber nahe am Strand 2-3 Gehminuten und Flughafen 15min mit dem Auto. Sehr schöne Poolanlage!

This property is close to the airport and has beautiful views of the ocean, very large with large pools.

The place is nice enough. A little dated though. Area is dead and nothing of interest nearby except a few abandoned resorts next to this one. Looks kind off like the apocalypse hit. Make sure you rent a car unless swimming the beach or pool is the only thing you’re looking to do. We did have a nice sunset over the ocean view from our room which was nice. Buffet was not the best.

The beach was one of the best I've been to in Thailand. Close to the airport for the jet landing pics Close to a quite village for fruit and Thai food.. Food breakfast good Dinner not good buffet very average Other guests mostly eastern Europe not a happy bunch

Food options were great. Good variety and tasty. Bed were fine

The rooms and bathroom were nice and large but not cleaned at all. The hotel was too big and confusing with lack of signs so we got lost several times trying to go to the reception/pool area. Beach was not swimmable. We only stayed one night to be close to the airport otherwise would have not stayed. Restaurant prices were overpriced. We paid 500 baht for the buffet which was limited food. Breakfast was poor.

The hotel itself is ok and the pool is good, especially for kids. The food was very average compared to anywhere else we ate in Thailand, particularly at night in the actual restaurant.
