Puckett room has comfortable bed and couches. Plush carpet, and deck with chairs overlooking pool, plus front porch with more privacy. Pool area is nice and breakfast and dinner was excellent. Will stay again!

The Bar is always fun!

Parking lot was unplowed when we arrived with very little effort to shovel entryway. Despite the fact there was only one other guest staying in the Inn we were not offered any upgrade option. Normally this wouldn't necessarily be an issue but we were placed in a room adjacent to the only other guest and their alarm went off every 5 minutes for more than a half hour at 4am and then again at 6am. The place is empty on Sundays with not only the restaurant closed but also the bar, which is the only comfortable common area. The bathroom was dirty, rings around the bathtub and a partially clogged sink that drained slowly with gunk floating up when the drain was overloaded. My breakfast choice was French toast and it was terrible. The Inn did provide a $50 rebate, but this still left us paying $200 for a horrible experience.

Super charming, very friendly staff and owner. Food was delicious. Could use better upkeep. (I wanted to swim in the pool but it hadn’t been cleaned, fan in room was broken) I would expect better for the price of the stay.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Sugar Hill Inn in early September. Our room was cheerful and had adequate space to move around. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before we set out for the day. The bar wasn't open that early in the week, but the owner was willing to open it for our group of four and another couple who were interested in enjoying a cocktail. I think that is pretty good service!

Check in was easy, front desk was terrific explaining everything the Inn offered with our stay. We had the Perennial cottage which was terrific and offered some privacy. Restaurant was great, service was wonderful and the food at both dinner and breakfasts was excellent. Highly recommend this Inn to stay, nice quiet property in Franconia. Pool was a nice plus as well.

The owner was very welcoming and friendly. The chef was amazing! Hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had! We particularly enjoyed having a glass of wine by the wood burning fireplace.

Beautiful spot! We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch while it rained then had a great dinner and drinks at the tavern. We will be back!

Comfy bed, plenty of character and parking

Very comfortable bed. I understand that going to an inn will be a quant and old timey atmosphere. But, if there are cobwebs all over the room that have clearly been there for a bit of time, i think giving a little extra attention to cleaning each room during the turnover time would be a standard practice which was not met during our stay.

We stayed at the Dream Cottage, and unfortunately, it failed to live up to its name due to several very fixable shortcomings. The area around the inn is lovely, with beautiful views and a charming exterior, our experience was marred by various issues. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was a positive aspect amidst the challenges. We firstly faced a widely known problem with the room lock; multiple staff members mentioned its difficulty, and we were unable to lock the room. A safety & security issue which needs addressing asap. Cleanliness was another concern; we noticed stains on the duvet & bed linen. Trash was still in the bin from previous guests. The air conditioning unit, held together with blue tape, was an eyesore, the outdated entertainment equipment did not support modern connections like Bluetooth, very disappointing. The room’s higher windows didn’t allow us to darken the space adequately, disrupting our sleep with early morning light. The curtains were hanging off the rails and difficult to close, compromising our comfort. Noise from the nearby road, especially early morning traffic, made sleep very difficult. While the bathroom spa bath and sauna was impressive, the overall feel of the place seemed tired and in need of updating. Communication with the hotel was poor with our enquiries unanswered & at $466 per night this did not deliver a Dream experience. A price point closer to $250 would better reflect the facilities and overall experience.

Excellent food, clean room and friendly staff!

Charming and spacious room, everything very clean. Quiet AC. Limited TV but used my own Netflix account. Wonderful breakfast. Definitely will return.

The room had a very strong odor and when we talked to staff they said it was from the cleaner. If you are fragrance sensitive be advised to ask them to not use this in your room prior to check in. Accommodations need updating as it is showing age.

We had a great stay. The King bed was the most comfortable I have slept on. Room was spotless!

The property was cute from the outside and the restaurant was great. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The property itself could use some updating and maintenance. Some areas looked a bit neglected. Did not feel we received value for our money.

Everything at this inn is impeccable...friendly staff, very clean and comfortable, great food. This wasn't our first stay, and it won't be our last. We will be back!

Room fittings (drapes and blinds) need improvement. One of the door latches did not work. Outside light needs fixing. Room was fine but smelled a bit musty. Meals were excellent. Overall a pleasant stay. Staff were most helpful.

Be sure to tell them if you are tall. My husband couldn’t stand in the shower and getting in bathroom was a high step with low door casing. Our room at top of the stairs was very noisy. Kitchen I think and bar noise. Floor in the unit was slanted. You’ll want to be sure all guests have good balance. Tricky to maneuver in darkness of night. Meals we’re excellent, would book again but a different room.

Bathroom really small.

We had a great room, very private with plenty of space to relax. The bed was very comfortable and the view was beautiful. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. As an additional bonus...Polly's Pancake Parlor is only a mile away.

The staff at the front desk when we arrived were exceptionally friendly and inviting. The room was good sized (Nickerson whirlpool suite) and very clean. I felt very comfortable there! The bed was large and comfortable. The tub was even big enough for my girl and I to both be in there at the same time! All in all, this is a great destination for couples looking to get away to a scenic rural area and enjoy nice accomodations and each other's company. Highly recommend!

The inn was awesome -- the room was comfortable and cute. The owner and employees were sweet and friendly, and I really enjoyed my stay. Don't miss the homemade pastries that accompany breakfast in the morning!

The breakfast was wonderful and all the staff was helpful friendly and attentive.

The owner of the inn met us in the reception area and showed us to our cottage on the grounds. He was very courteous and professional. Breakfast food and service was outstanding. This is a very old inn, so one cannot expect the amenities of a new resort hotel - that being said it was quaint and clean and we enjoyed sitting on our porch over looking the perennial gardens each morning/evening. We asked for extra towels which were delivered in a timely manner. I did not give a perfect rating because the sink in our bathroom was very slow to drain and the little blow dryer was not very effective. It is a lovely place to stay for old-world charm. Excellent location.

Unfortunately we came on a Tuesday and many local dining places are closed that evening....it made getting dinner a bit of a hassle, but not the inn's fault. Breakfast was great and the staff super nice. It was better than a "nice" experience overall, but not great.

Nobody at reception either on our arrival, or departure - and we arrived just before 6pm and left after breakfast - around 9am. An envelope was on the desk with keys in it when we arrived. Staying in a small hotel rather than a corporate is only justified if the character of the hotel and level of service justifies it. Unfortunately there was nothing special here, and we were basically ignored at all times.

For a visit to the northern NH region there is no better place to experience a family owned quaint inn with a breakfast that is gourmet making it unbeatable for the money. In addition the staff and innkeepers welcome and take care of you like family. Don’t miss this gem.

This is designated an a 4 star hotel with a relatively expensive nightly rate. There was no staff on hand to welcome us. The sofa felt well worn and the bed was scuffed, although extremely comfortable. Breakfast was average. There was nothing special about the service. Creamer and sugar was available in small, disposable containers and coffee was dispensed via a Keurig machine. I would rate this a 3 star experience at most.

There was nobody at front desk, you couldn't get ahold of anyone to make reservations, for issues with room, nothing. Does not have that cozy feeling. It's like playground, nobody there do what you want with no guidance. The food was good i will give them that. Noone to talk to about the area where to go or anything. If you want a true bed and breakfast or inn, this is NOT the place.

it is a charming property which is 250 years old. Everyone is friendly and cheerful and it has a very calm atmosphere. Some of the paintings and decor are exceptional. The road is a little bit noisy. That was probably the biggest negative. But the chairs is comfortable and it’s a very nice environment.

An historic and charming building — nicely decorated but a little rough around the edges. Breakfast in the dining room was a pleasure. The nearby hamlet is limited in terms of restaurants and shops.

Historic inn, all the ammenities you need, breakfast was lovely, friendly staff. Franconia Notch State Park is close by. We will visit again.

It is an old farmhouse. It’s quiet and the view from our room was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building itself could use some upkeep and a good cleaning.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sugar Hill Inn. We were hiking the Franconia Ridge and looking for some place nearby. What a delight! The inn is very charming, Chris was very nice, the breakfast was lovely. We had no issues and will definitely return.

We stayed in the Rose room for one night on our visit to Franconia state park. The location was perfect and close to many hikes we wanted to do. The inn was very clean and had a great porch and library for reading. The inn owners were kind and inviting. I’d recommend this spot to anyone traveling through the area.

The evening meal was top class. The food was probably the best we’ve eaten in our tour of New England. The service was excellent and we were not rushed…a remarkably rare thing when eating out in America. The room was lovely and cosy. We found nothing to fault at all

Based on the website photos and description of the property and amenities, I arrived with very high expectations. I was disappointed with the Sugar Hill Inn as it was not up to the standards defined in the promotional material. The first impression as you arrive at the door is the landscaping is unkept, the flowers on the porch are all dead and the pavers are falling off. I was looking forward to hanging out in the Tavern for a drink but it was not staffed except at dinner. The dining room is nice but the meal was just OK and not how it seemed to be described as "fine dining". Breakfast was very basic. It was indicated that at 4 pm "it is time for a small bite, a surprise from our chef." The day we went down to try it out, the bite were two muffins from breakfast and a batch a grapes. We didn\'t bother after that. We never met the Innkeepers and that to me is one of the selling points of staying at a B&B - and throughout the day you had to call for assistance (which was promptly responded to). But overall, the Inn lacked an energy without someone around. The current owners bought the Inn in 2021 so perhaps the reputation for the Inn was built on the energy of the previous owner Steve Allen So be aware that the what you see and read on the websites is not the current standard at the Sugar Hill Dave Evans Professor of Tourism and Department Chair Hospitality and Tourism Education, Honolulu, HI
