It sucked, I’m 73 years old and the elevator was broken so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs. The toilet seat was small and didn’t fit the seat. The ice machine was broken. The mirror lights didn’t work, so it was darker in the bathroom also .So staying at a holiday inn was ( the best surprise is no surprise ) well we were surprised that all the things didn’t work.

Not terrible but now worth $200 a night for non working pool, no workout room, ice maker didn’t work on our floor, bed mattress was not comfortable. Room had a few issues like shower curtain would not stay put during a shower, tub had some kind of massive repair in it. Also found a large earring in the kids bed, makes me think the sheets were not changed. Breakfast was good, staff was good. Location was great for what we needed.

We had a fast check-in, the staff member was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The only complaint is that the pool was not working but we were informed of this immediately which we appreciated.

A lot of work being done, fixtures wrapped in plastic, etc. The fitness center and pool were both closed for repairs also. Overpriced for what we actually received.

The property was nice, and the area was great I didn't like it, only had 1 elevator, and I was on the fourth floor. If it were to malfunction, walking up 4 floors would be a problem, being 76 years old. The carpet outside the 4th elevator needs to be replaced. The breakfast was ok.

Pool hours were a negative. Our daughter was in the honor band at the University of Montevallo and we booked here for the indoor pool. However we were unable to use it because it was closed before we got back.

This is our 2nd or 3rd time staying at this Holiday Inn Express in Alabaster, AL. VERY clean hotel, friendly staff, and we are more than comfortable when we come to town. They are a little pricey, but it is worst the peace that we get when we are here. THANK YOU, and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

It’s unfortunate that I need to give this review but due to the room condition and lack of communication from the manager I will. The room I was given smelled of mildew and something else I couldn’t put my finger on. Being exhausted I figured it was coming from outside through the AC unit. Went to bed and woke up with a sore throat and headache. Finally at 3am I decided to pack up and leave since I had a long drive. I asked the front desk if there was a way to get reimbursed for the room since obviously there was a humidity problem and potential mold issue. I also shared that I discovered what the other smell was…two dirty diapers in the garbage under the desk. She shared that because I used Expedia I probably wouldn’t get a refund, being an outside booking site. She said she would need the manager to follow up. The manager was supposed to be in at 8am and she would give my name and number to be contacted. Now more than 48 hours out and still not contacted, I assume they plan to do nothing about it. Fair enough. At least I got a few hours rest, but in the future, if I need a room in Alabaster, I think I’ll try the hotel next door.

The A/C in the room did not work. Called the front desk and they came up to fix it. Got it running and said any more problems they would switch rooms. After 10 minutes it stopped and when we asked to move rooms was told no rooms were available.

Outstanding with 1 exception. The AC in our room was very noisy. Every time it came on, it sounded like a small plane was running its engine just outside the window. Sound was tolerable but competed with the volume of the tv.

The hotel was clean and the staff responsive to our needs. The breakfast was very nice. Would love to see hard-boiled eggs available at the breakfast. Hotel was well situated next to a lot of different shopping and restaurant choices. Television was impossible to figure out with several remotes and instructions but nothing worked. We ended up not having any TV, which is really not a problem for us, but maybe for others. We would stay there again.

Great staff…really good breakfast. My only issue was with the TV…the internet would not stay connected to it and we were unable to stream (Netflix, Amazon, etc)…and there was no CNN offered / was Fox News everything.

The staff were GREAT! Helpful, willing to take time to see to all our needs. We have stayed often and will continue to give this hotel chain our first consideration when traveling. This is a nice hotel with great access to shopping and dining! There are several restaurants nearby, including fast food options. Also, there are several department stores and other shopping options very close, as well as Walmart and target! Our room was clean and plenty big. Staff was nice, and breakfast had great options.

We choose to pay a bit more to stay in a place which includes breakfast. It's unfortunate this hotel breakfast isn't available until after 630am...not great for us early risers! Also, the mattress needs replacing. Roll to the middle, not good at all!
