Hampton Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood UT

Great place to stay! Great quality. Good pool, hot tub and gym! It’s nice to see a hotel gym with more than just cardio machines. Standard hotel breakfast, kind service. We came on a busy weekend where they were a bit understaffed, but they did a great job regardless.

The property could easily been given 5 stars across the board but the tiles in the hot tub were filthy you can feel the grease on them above the water line. I did not go in pool but I am willing to bet those tiles are also in need of cleaning not to the same extent. This is basic maintenance

Such a great location, we loved that, The second night the pool and hot tub was closed! We had just spent several hours looking for a swimsuit so that we could enjoy the pool and the hot tub. Our vacation plans always included a hot tub, very disappointed!

We had booked this hotel with the hopes of being able to relax in the jacuzzi after a long day. We were then informed that the jacuzzi was out of service fpr the entire duration of our stay.

The staff was very nice and prompt with anything you need. The tile floor in the pool area - is absolutely horrible. Every single one of us and every person that came in, slipped 3-5 times walking to a table or chair. Breakfast was amazing! Great cook and service!

Parking was not adequate. Too many stalls for premium members up front that weren’t even used, so we had to drive around the back. Beds were comfortable, fitness and pool hours were great!

It was a great experience, clean and very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were very nice.

Parking was sparse, I think we got the last space around the back. Not sure where we would have to park if not for that. Need more parking somehow.

If you did not get a parking spot before 6pm you probably are not getting one

Room was dirty when we got there with no other options to move to a different room. Dirty sheets and towels on the floor, garbage overfilling, and disgusting shower. Clearly hadn't been cleaned. We had to wait for nearly 2 hours to get a clean room and get things figured out.

The staff was very welcoming! The place was very clean.

Drains in the shower and sink didn’t work great but they worked. Carpets were a bit dirty. It was a decent stay. Did the job.

Check in was good. Arrived after 9 pm. We are in a motorcycle trip to the Rockies. 600 miles from Sacramento to Salt Lake and we just wanted a good nights rest before another 500 miles the following day to Colorado. Room looked clean and we unpacked. About an hour later while I was reading on the bed leaning up against the headboard, I felt something crawling in my hair and on my neck. I jumped up and to my disgust there were dozens and dozens of bed bugs crawling all over my shirt, hair, body, pillows and headboard/walls. I jumped into the shower w clothing on and shook myself off and bugs flew off me. So gross. Put my clothing in the trash, called front desk who said they’d move us. It was too late by now to find another hotel and load the motorcycles and get anywhere safely so we took the hotel up on their offer to move us. The front desk was apologetic and said to expect some compensation for the horrible experience, I IM’d Hotels.com and asked for refund based on this, call center Devince Michael confirmed with hotel front desk about the bedbugs in room 405. He submitted a ticked for cancellation and refund as it was midnight on 6/2/2023. He did not have authority to cancel and refund. Today I get an email from Hotels.com decking our refund per the hotel. Just terrible. Not your fault, but I know hotels.com can do better. Leverage your influence with hotels like Hilton on behalf of your customers please. This was not a motel or cheap place.

Second time staying at this hotel. The room was not clean, crumbs on the floor and hair on the bathroom floor. Bedding was clean at least. Had this been my first stay I would not have returned, and probably won't in the future. Cleanliness is very important when it comes to hotel rooms. The woman at the front desk was very nice when checking in!

Limited parking on except across the street in an icy parking lot. Unclean areas in the room.

Very clean hotel with a great breakfast available!

I loved this hotel except for a couple of things. First, I booked this hotel so I would not have to worry about parking. Little did I know they do not have enough space for everyone that is staying there. We had to park across the street in a parking lot that was only supervised every 3 hours. This made me very uncomfortable and I didn’t appreciate walking at night alone with my teenage daughter. Second, the shower in my room had mildew growing in the cracks and it wouldn’t drain. Showers had to be short or we would risk flooding the bathroom. Last, the breakfast choices were limited and disappointing. The bed however was super comfortable and the staff was very kind.

The reason I gave 2 stars was because either the walls and floors are paper thin, or the people that stay here walk with cinder blocks as shoes all hours of the night and are incredibly inconsiderate. We stayed for a week and on night 1 our upstairs neighbor was stomping around from 9pm on throughout the night. We have never complained before but it was so bad we called the front desk. They said they would say something. It didn't make a difference. 6am now and they must be walking around with ski boots. Woke us up out of a dead sleep. Night 2, same thing, went to the front desk that morning and they said they would handle it. 3rd night, still walking around all hours of the night, constant thudding of feet above us. We call again, apparently it's new people so they said they would say something. We get woken up at 3am with stomping around. We gave up and just dealt being kept up at night and woken up early in the morning. We could also hear the guy in the next room over talking about his stocks. Full conversations through the walls. Again we are not people who complain and hate that we had to, but we couldn't sleep being woken up constantly throughout the night. There are washing machines on the property. Not sure they have ever been cleaned. There was a lot of dirt, rocks and grime around the seals of the machine. $8 to wash and dry. Now the good: place is clean, staff is friendly and close to the mountains.

The hotel was lovely and relaxing with a wonderful view of the city.

Great fire pit! WiFi awful

Convenient location for ski trips. However, we were staying with family (adult children), and the barn door style bathroom that didn't close all the way made in un-usable for us, so we went to another hotel. With the door slid closed, there was a 1" gap that allowed full view into the bathroom. When I asked if this was normal at the front desk, they said that it was in all the rooms. They were accommodating and allowed us to check out and go to another hotel.

The walls must be very thin. We didn’t sleep much. Too many people running and laughing and yelling late into the night. Definitely won’t get a room with kids above us next time either. They were having a tap dance last into the night

Excellent place to stay- one minor complaint- the AC is too loud. It was hard to sleep.

Very quiet hotel. Liked the walk-in shower and comfy beds.

Bed was firmer than preferred. Could not get the TV to work properly. Did not know if it was a TV issue or a remote control problem.

Room was comfortable and well-apportioned. Was not quiet as upstairs neighbors were rude and sounded like they were rearranging furniture for hours at a time. Also definitely heel-walkers. Full breakfast was nice and access to 972 route for ride up to Solitude/Brighton stopping right out front made the trip economical. Staff was very nice and helpful. WiFi was out first couple of days and front desk told me to call the customer service number where I was then informed that over half of the routers and access-points at the property were not operating. Not sure why that should have been my responsibility to solve, but there it is. Several restaurants in the vicinity about 5 minutes (±) walking with decent fare. Sports pub at the bottom of the hill had one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and the prices were VERY reasonable.

Very clean hotel with great staff. My son and I had to check and leave before 5:00am and the front desk agent had coffee already made and sent us down the road with two breakfast care packages. She was a rock star!

Shoutout to Elisha Wiley!! She was great!! I made an error on our checkout date and she fixed it, super nice, and cordial. We had some problems understanding the a/c and she came to our room and showed us how to operate it. She is definitely a keeper.

We showed up at 8:30 pm after an all day drive and the hotel was overbooked and didn’t have a room for us. Didn’t get to another hotel until 10:00pm! They said Expedia made a mistake

When I called for gelp because there was no hot water.No one could come to help and my room could not be changed beacause there was no rooms left.

Well it was just a getaway for me and Mom to get away from the kids and they've got nice air conditioning it's kind of tucked away from everything else so it's nice and quiet and we always enjoy their breakfast and they have great staff Hannah is wonderful who we usually see in the mornings Brian is awesome who usually see in the evenings.

My check-in took 45 minutes since a novice was in charge at the front desk with zero skills (including communication). Walls were so thin that we could hear the next room the whole time. Everything else was ok.

The front desk attendant was very cheerful, helpful, engaging and friendly. When I requested additional pillows, they were bright promptly and with a generous attitude.

Everything about the hotel was satisfactory. The front desk staff was friendly, the included breakfast set up and the staff were excellent, and the hotel overall was good with a great location. However, the housekeeping staff was really bad, they never changed our sheets in a 7-night stay, a couple of times the bathroom was not cleaned and used glasses and cups were left on the bathroom counter. They didn’t even replenish the toilet paper roll at one point.

This Hotel is in a quiet area with plenty of restaurants close by. You feel like you are in the mountains when staying in Cottonwood, yet you are close to lots... I will be staying in this area more often during my business trips..

Convenient and quiet location to stay while visiting Salt Lake City. Several restaurants within walking distance.

The Hampton Inn has been our mainstay for our ski trips to Utah for years. The location is great for access to both Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, and the property is well-maintained and staffed by friendly attendants, and maintenance staff. We were greatly disappointed to find out that the bus service from the hotel to the ski resorts is not reliable. On more than one day, we were forced to wait for two hours for a bus that was not already full and would take passengers. Having a bus stop in front of the hotel was the main reason for staying there so this is a deal killer for us going forward.

The location was perfect for a 3-day ski trip to Solitude, Snowbird, and Alta. UTA and Cottonwood connect stopped at property. Clean room, jacuzzi, close walk to restaurants.

The on site location for pick up/drop off from local ski resorts with city transportation. It made it very easy to get to and from without having to deal with traffic and parking in the canyons. The breakfast is always consistent. The front desk is always friendly.

Brian at the front desk was very helpful and personable. very convenient to both big and little Cottonwood Canyon, which is a big plus.

Great location, scenery was good and easy access to several freeways.

Great location for accessing the Cottonwoods. City bus to Big Cottonwood stop right out the main entrance. Works fine on the weekdays. Useless on the Sunday powder day that we happened to have. Overall, good value for the price and amenities.

Perfectly located to get to University of Utah and downtown, Park City and 10 minutes from some beautiful hiking trails!

Property is nice and clean. Bathroom is big with good water pressure. The only negative is they serve light roast coffee at breakfast which doesn’t even smell like coffee. For a nice property, I expected better coffee.

The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was good and well stocked with many options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The rooms were large and clean. The breakfast was excellent. Brian at the front desk was so amazing, very personable. Would stay here again!

Everything was excellent; except The breakfast needs some serious upgrades, the waffle maker needs to be replaced, the hot breakfast items all seemed artificial and not fresh. I will def stay again but not plan on having the breakfast.

We have stayed at this hotel few times and it has never disappointed. It is clean and close to the ski resorts. The only thing that could be improved is the quality and the variety of the complimentary breakfast.
