Our stay was spectacular. The view outside of our multiple windows in our room was sensational. Harvest moon and sunsets every day and just seeing the water were so calming. Location to the train station and Sorrento were perfect. Tranquil garden and outside seating. The chef and his staff served up some of the best entrees in Italy. The front staff and snack bar employees couldn't have been any better. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Stunning property high above, but right on, the Bay of Naples. It is hard to overstate the beauty of the views. It's a bit outside the heart of Sorrento, but dining options in the area are good and you avoid all the craziness of Sorrento. Food at the property's restaurant was great. They must have a new chef since the reviews that criticized it.

This is a cool unique property. Has the monastery vibe but is quiet and peaceful. It is beautiful. The only thing I was disappointed about was that you couldnt go down to the part of the property that opens to the water. Swimming was down the road at the lido. Otherwise it was beautiful. There were restaurants in walking distance.

The location of Villa Crawford was fabulously situated high atop a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The grounds were beautifully kept. The staff was cheerful, courteous, friendly, helpful, and informative. The restaurant was exceptional. It provided a romantic waterfront setting -- especially at sunset -- with dishes thar were delectably prepared and presented with colorful artistic culinary flare. My wife and I also liked that this property was located in quiet area away from the husle and bustle of Sorrento but within walking distance of it's city center.

Absolutely stunning views from the property and the staff are so warm and friendly and helpful. Very pleasant stay and would definitely return. The room was spacious and clean and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. Cocktails on the terrace overlooking the bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius was superb and the fact you get to watch the sunset into the sea every night was a fantastic bonus.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable and would squeak when you changed positions and the bed sheets were uncomfortable. There were ants around our sink in our bathroom. The staff member serving the breakfast was very rude and once breakfast was out nothing was restocked. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. It would have been nice to have an overview of what is offered and provided at the villa and how to get around the property. The reception staff were friendly and answered lots of our questions however they gave us a ton of information very quickly when we arrived which lead us to keep having to come back to inquire. There was no info on the villa restaurants, local shopping or beach info provided in our rooms or pamphlet only a map.

We had an ocean view room and the beauty was endless. You are in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood within a 30 minute walk to downtown Sorrento. The walk is flat and takes you along the ocean and beautiful neighborhoods. Lots of restaurants near the hotel. The rooms are clean and they provide fresh towels every day. This historic building, patio and garden are full of interesting background. The walls are a little thin but not too bad. The free breakfast every morning is simple but nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

This is my second time staying here and both times I’ve been impressed with cleanliness and quality of service of front desk staff. They’re all welcoming and very accommodating. The views here are breathtaking, no words to describe! Location is about a 25 minutes walk to city centre, and safe for a solo traveller. Surrounded by very nice hotels. For the value, I definitely recommend but don’t expect a luxury hotel experience. For instance, there is no fridge and no food allowed in the room. Cleanliness of accommodation including condition of sheets are 10/10. I definitely recommend staying here.

Unfortunately I can’t share the good reviews that made me selected this hotel for my vacation. One main thing for me that made me booked this hotel was the access to the water from the hotel and that access was closed long ago but it doesn’t say anything about that on the website. We stayed for 11 days and the cleaning people will not clean the room just changed the towels and put the blankets on top of the bed. Unfortunately was not a nice experience for me.

The hotel itself & its restaurant has an amazing view. I was here in mid-May and the hotel had not turned on AC yet, so it got hot in the rooms unless you open the window (but there are no window screens to keep the bugs out). The staff were unaware of this and kept telling me they were turning our AC down, then eventually another staff said they don’t turn on AC until mid to late June. All of the staff we spoke to were very nice though and tried to be helpful. They also don’t allow outside food or drink on the property, which is pretty inconvenient since the hotel is located far from Sorrento. Rooms are outdated (two twin beds pushed together for our bed, shower is small). Overall, we didn’t feel it was worth the high price point

The common areas are gorgeous but the rooms are dorm style (beds/decoration etc). We loved it - it was perfect for us - but if you are looking for fancy rooms and bedding it is not that type of place. The bathroom was the best we had in the 5 stops we made in Italy. New, clean and the shower was awesome - bigger than any bathroom in any hotel we stayed at. If you want to go to downtown Sorrento by taxi it was about $20.

The grounds of this hotel are amazing! Beautiful terraces and perfectly manicured Gardens. A great place to view the sunset and enjoy an evening glass of wine. A 20 minute walk to Sorrento or 12 minute walk to train station made location perfect for us. The room is basic but clean. We would have loved a small refrigerator.

You have to put your room key in the wall to make the air-conditioning work. We came home after a very warm day to a stifling hot hotel room. Other than that, everything was spectacular. Front desk called us a taxi. The terrace is beautiful!!!!

Simply a very beautiful building with a uniquely beautiful view of mountain and sea. I watched a lunar eclipse from my window. The gardens were replete with many private spaces for conversation and rest. The mattress was quite firm--not my favorite for a good night's sleep. Staff was welcoming and warm. There was a considerable noise at night from other hotels in the area, I think.

We loved this hotel. The room was large and so comfortable for our family of four. Bathroom was equally large. The view was great. We ate at the restaurant and watched the sunset - other than the very loud large group - which is not the hotel’s fault- it was amazing. The walk to Sorrento is longer than described, from the ferry per my phone it was 1.7 miles and 37 minutes. We did not mind, but it is good to know as everyone says 20 minutes. Taxis were easy and hotel was great about getting them. I highly recommend.

I liked the history, the gardens and the balcony looking out over to Naples.Our garden room only had a small window.I had previously been in a dual aspect room that was more spacious, so that was disapointing.

The Villa Crawford is an amazing place! The staff is incredible-outstanding customer service, and the views are incredible from all the terraces. This is a unique, and beautiful gem of a hotel right outside of Sorrento.

It is one of he most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The grounds and inside are immaculate. Beds are comfy, the rooms cozy. The ocean views are out of this world. The only complaint is that the breakfast lady is the most unpleasant person and her service was extremely poor at best.

This is my second time staying here and both times I’ve been impressed with cleanliness and quality of service of front desk staff. They’re all welcoming and very accommodating. The views here are breathtaking, no words to describe! Location is about a 25 minutes walk to city centre, and safe for a solo traveller. Surrounded by very nice hotels. For the value, I definitely recommend but don’t expect a luxury hotel experience. For instance, there is no fridge and no food allowed in the room. Cleanliness of accommodation including condition of sheets are 10/10. I definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing hotel with amazing views! Wish we could've stayed here longer. It's about a 7 minute drive to Sorrento so if you have a car I would absolutely recommend this hotel as Sant'Angello is less crowded so it's great during the busy summer months to avoid the crowds. The views are so amazing you wont even want to leave the hotel to go anywhere, but if you do, this is a great home base to visit all the Amalfi coast towns.

This property is magical. The staff are very welcoming and kind and helpful. The views of the Bay of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius and sunsets are spectacular. The grounds are beautiful and serene. The location is close enough to walk to everything but just outside the hustle and bustle of the center of Sorrento. I chose the perfect place for my first trip to Sorrento.

The location of Villa Crawford was fabulously situated high atop a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The grounds were beautifully kept. The staff was cheerful, courteous, friendly, helpful, and informative. The restaurant was exceptional. It provided a romantic waterfront setting -- especially at sunset -- with dishes thar were delectably prepared and presented with colorful artistic culinary flare. My wife and I also liked that this property was located in quiet area away from the husle and bustle of Sorrento but within walking distance of it's city center.

We loved this hotel. The room was large and so comfortable for our family of four. Bathroom was equally large. The view was great. We ate at the restaurant and watched the sunset - other than the very loud large group - which is not the hotel’s fault- it was amazing. The walk to Sorrento is longer than described, from the ferry per my phone it was 1.7 miles and 37 minutes. We did not mind, but it is good to know as everyone says 20 minutes. Taxis were easy and hotel was great about getting them. I highly recommend.

This property is a lovely converted convent in sant’agnello, just outside of Sorrento. It is about a 25 minute walk or a 20 euro taxi ride from Sorrento. It’s right on the water, with beautiful terraces overlooking the sea. Staff were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and ample size. I can’t give it a 5 Star rating only because I reserve that for truly luxurious accommodations, but you will not be disappointed staying here. On another trip we stayed right in Sorrento and it was too noisy. My preference is Villa Crawford!

Our stay was spectacular. The view outside of our multiple windows in our room was sensational. Harvest moon and sunsets every day and just seeing the water were so calming. Location to the train station and Sorrento were perfect. Tranquil garden and outside seating. The chef and his staff served up some of the best entrees in Italy. The front staff and snack bar employees couldn't have been any better. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The location has breath taking view's of the Gulph of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, Naples, and sunsets while dining. The chef prepared excellent meals. The staff was helpful and friendly. There was a beautiful gold Erard harp from 1428 and a piano that Franz Liszt played.

Hotel was excellent as was the service and cleanliness of the room. But had trouble giving 5Star due to the food. The free breakfast we had was worth every penny so very very average. We cancelled dinner reservations at a super great restaurant due to recommendation from front desk and ate at hotel on our last night. Again, less than average and our worst meal in Sorrento area over 4 days. Hate to give hotel a bad review as food was only complaint and that can be avoided. Tip for future travelers- Avoid the restaurant not the hotel.

We loved our stay here! This is a place where you can really spend time at this hotel and relax with the amazing views and they even more incredible staff. Keep in mind. It’s a bit off the beaten path so it is a walk into town, but we really liked that aspect and felt it got us out of the busyness of the city. Restaurant has decent food, but is a bit pricey. The real charm of this place is the views including the lemon Grove in the back and the superb staff. Room was also very comfortable with excellent room service. Would absolutely stay here again.

Es como alojarse en un convento, lo cual significa que para descanso hay mucho silencio, y las instalaciones son impecables, el edificio muy bonito. No se siente ambiente de vacaciones, no escucharás música. Las personas del hotel son muy amables. El desayuno es muy pobre y la atención al desayuno no es nada buena. En general para descansar es una buena opción, aunque se siente como si estuvieras en una iglesia.

Fantastic stay at Villa Crawford. Our room was spacious (family of four), comfortable, and a great place to unwind after exploring the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help us, from recommending great places to visit and eat to arranging taxis whenever we needed them.
