I booked a specific room, as a friend and I on a walking trip to the Elan Valley wanted separate beds. Unfortunately, the room was an annexe attached to the pub and was on a main thoroughfare for many, MANY lorries throughout the night. The noise was significant and led to a lack of sleep. I always look at previous reviews to gauge whether to stay at a property, few mentioned the noise so unsure as to whether it is specific to that room. I could have asked to move rooms, but my friend would not stay another night. Such a shame, as the staff, location and food were really good.

It also offers excellent value for money, making it a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere affordable without compromising on comfort. Overall, a straightforward, comfortable place to stay in a great location. Will happily return and recommend to anyone visiting Rhayader.
