Booked a two night stay at D’Gecko from March 5th-7th. Location of the hotel is great and the staff are friendly, but that’s about everything that is good about this hotel. Bed sheets were stained from overuse and so were the towels. The shower was interesting… either freezing cold or scalding hot. Comes out as a drizzle or as a jet depending on how it’s feeling. Would not recommend staying here unless your other option is a hostel. Oh, I guess another pro is that they have a water cooler in the hallway, so I will give them that.

Avoid this place. I booked a king size bed and got a double. Had zero water!!! Couldn’t even shower. No phones in the room to call the front desk. Bathroom stink of sewage coming up. Bed was hard and only had 1 flat pillow each. Won’t be going back here again.

One thing sticks out about this hotel - it's VERY clean! Staff on site are always there to clean up. I liked the free filtered hot/cold water unit. They have security staff in the evening and there's always a staff around in the day time. Feels quite safe as there is only one entrance. Nice decor which is very fresh and relaxing. Room was spacious. They also have liquid shampoo and body wash in dispensers - nice! Better than struggling with small tubes that are not environmentally friendly. Friendly staff. You have to pay for a second pillow if you want one. They were happy to provide a few more hangers for free. Great location - just a minute walk to the beach where you can see turtles feeding. A nice touch with 'origami' folded towels.

Property was very close to the beach only a 2-4 min walk from prime snorkeling areas. Restaurants near you, but with enough distance from high trafficed areas and noise from restaurants. Sadly because of the lack of 24 hour front desk staff and no phones to call anyone our experience here was ruined by a guest next door who decided he was going to have party and started playing music at midnight, gambling, slamming doors from midnight until 3:30 am. I had a canyoneering excursion the next day with a meeting time of 6 am, this lack of sleep did not make for a good stay. ( No I did not confront the person making the noise as safety is important to me, especially in a different country)

We had an enjoyable stay at D'Gecko Hotel. The location was great, and the room was clean and comfortable. Regarding the slippers to be used in the room - we thought this was a good idea to avoid common areas getting sandy/dirty - however we just wish they'd provided larger sizes of slippers!

The property is clean and 'cute', the staff weren't helpful or fiendly though they did allow us to check in an hour and a half early. Also, you are required to remove your shoes when inside. They provide inside slippers but may be better to go barefoot than slip on the stairs with a sub par pair as I quickly learned.

Cleanliness is what stood out for me about this place. The staff does a great job keeping it clean. The only downside is hearing the locals by your window (I was on the main floor) which can interrupt your sleep.

Boa limpeza, chuveiro bom e cama confortável. Tinha cofre e frigobar (vazio). Achamos o quarto um pouco pequeno. A estrada para acessar o hotel não é muito boa, é de terra e tem bastante buracos. Há alguns restaurantes ao redor mas o hotel fica há uns 7 minutos de caminhada de uma rua principal com vários restaurantes bons. Para quem quer fazer o mergulho e ver sardinhas e tartarugas, é excelente, fica bem na localização do mergulho.

Hotellet var fint med en god beliggenhed. Personalet var altid hjælpsomt og virkede kompetent. Hotellet tilbyder også et udvalg af scootere til leje til rimelige priser. Vores værelse var lidt slidt og småt, men rent. Der var dog ingen solrige terrasser, da alle var i skygge.

The staff was amazing and very helpful. The room was clean and the staff did an excellent job of keeping the hallways free of dirty and sand. The beds are quite firm and you are only supplied with one pillow each, although we never asked for more, I’m sure they would have accommodated. The AirCon and Wifi were both excellent but the water pressure was sometimes lacking. Very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Saturday night there was a live band at the Pacita's Disco Bar just down the lane way which was loud but put on an excellent show and gave a good nightlife vibe. The beds are quite firm and you are only supplied with one pillow each, although we never asked for more, I’m sure they would have accommodated. The AirCon and Wifi were both excellent but the water pressure was sometimes lacking. Very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Saturday night there was a live band at the Pacita's Disco Bar just down the lane way which was loud but put on an excellent show and gave a good nightlife vibe. Clean room , basic amenities and friendly and helpful staff. However in one of the days from the night till morning, we don’t have water supply to the sink or toilet to brush teeth or flush toilet. I need to resort to the water in bathroom for those activity. We feedbacked to the staff before our departure and hopefully it will not happen to others.

Place was great! A touch of Santorini with beautiful ambience. Safe and secure, and the staff were awesome! I even left my deposit but they found a way to reach me and give me back my money, so kind of them. I definitely recommend this place.

We loved this place, everyone was so nice and friendly. We stayed 6 days and everyone in the area really made us feel like family. The water was beautiful. They helped with the tours we wanted to take.

I typically stay in higher end properties, but this is Moalboal- and I wanted to be close to the water in the heart of the action. Deluxe King room is beyond a super value! Staff is sooooo friendly and accommodating. I booked originally for 2 nights- and I have extended it now one night at a time- now here for the 6th night. For the area, there is nothing better and i would definitely recommend it here.

I do not recommend this hotel. There are a few notable reasons for the negative experience: 1) the shower barely worked so you had to use a bucket 2) you couldn't wear your shoes so you had to use the same slippers everyone else uses for their feet to enter your room (or go barefoot). It was not sanitary. Why not provide new slippers to each paying customer?! 3) worst of all, they seemed to totally forget about the tour we booked with them. We started late for our sea turtle and sardines tour. As a result, we could not see much because the seas became rough and reduced visibility to 4-5 feet. They also didn't communicate that you don't need a permit for snorkeling off the beach where you can see sea turtles and the sardine run. In the end, they just made me overpay to rent a boat to see a medicore island off of Moalboal that provided no value. Very unethical and unhelpful staff. Do yourself a favor and book at a better hotel. This one does not deserve the positive reviews it has received.

Property was very close to the beach only a 2-4 min walk from prime snorkeling areas. Restaurants near you, but with enough distance from high trafficed areas and noise from restaurants. Sadly because of the lack of 24 hour front desk staff and no phones to call anyone our experience here was ruined by a guest next door who decided he was going to have party and started playing music at midnight, gambling, slamming doors from midnight until 3:30 am. I had a canyoneering excursion the next day with a meeting time of 6 am, this lack of sleep did not make for a good stay. ( No I did not confront the person making the noise as safety is important to me, especially in a different country)

This is a new property lesd than 5years. Convinirnt during the day but at night is dark along the way to walking dtreet but faraway from Jollibee and market. Staff are very helpful through out my stay. I sure be back agisn if I hoping to Moboal again.

Boa limpeza, chuveiro bom e cama confortável. Tinha cofre e frigobar (vazio). Achamos o quarto um pouco pequeno. A estrada para acessar o hotel não é muito boa, é de terra e tem bastante buracos. Há alguns restaurantes ao redor mas o hotel fica há uns 7 minutos de caminhada de uma rua principal com vários restaurantes bons. Para quem quer fazer o mergulho e ver sardinhas e tartarugas, é excelente, fica bem na localização do mergulho.

Highly recommended. Only 30 seconds to the beach where you can swim with sea turtles and schools of sardines. This Greek-style inn is clean and simply equipped with all the necessary amenities. The staff is responsive, helpful and friendly. It is too far to walk to the nearby mall and bus terminal, so you can rent a scooter or take a tricycle at the store right in front of the hotel. Cabana is the only restaurant near the hotel that accepts credit cards.

This is the perfect little place to stay, nothing fancy but clean and the staff were incredible. In the best location for all activities bars and restaurants only meters to the beach. Would highly recommend from an Aussie!! Loved it! Thank you!

Second time I’ve stayed here when visiting moalboal. Had a great experience both times. Will be happy to book a 3rd time if I come back this way. Only thing I wish they do is add a dang bidet. Spend the $15 on a bidet for each room please. But others wise it’s in a great location. Quite, near the beach front, has a few stores around it for what ever you need. I really enjoy this place.

We were a multi-family group with kids and the D'Gecko did not disappoint. Clean hotel and spacious rooms that provided indoor slippers so guests didn't bring soiled footwear through the hallways and intorooms. Will go back to this hotel for sure and recommend to friends and family.
