La Quinta by Wyndham Pittsburg

We scheduled this trip for my daughter's birthday and was eager for the heated indoor pool. When we got there we found out that the pool was been taken down for a while. Breakfast was lacking, didn't have much of a variety. The bathroom had mold in between the sink and shower, shower floor creaked like crazy. Beds were ok for an inn, only one of the 2 tvs in the room had reception. Otherwise it was ok.

There is NOT a hot tub as promised and the pool was not working. I only booked that place because of them having a hot tub.

No sign inside that outside door lock was broken. Went out the door to car, walked all the way back to find out I couldn’t get in without walking to the other end of the building to the front.

Property has two elevators only one working very slowly

Everything was good staff friendly, rooms clean, and breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. My only complaint would be the pool was freezing and there was no hot tub like advertised. They said the pools heating element was out.

The place smelled of urine everywhere. Puddles on elevator everywhere in the halls in the waiting areas urine, old and new. Ice machines broken. Only one working elevator. Staff blocking halls with carts and vacumes. Put them against the wall dont block the hall do i have to move them to pass. Difficult time understanding staff with language barrier

It amazes me how a hotel can degrade over 2 years. This hotel was the best in town 2.5 years ago and I would now rate this as one of the worst. The swimming pool was not operational but they had no signs posting to keep out and my kids almost jumped in. There were mold, algae and insects covering the bottom of the pool guaranteed to send a kid to the hospital if the water was infested by accident. The room was musty and the floor felt dirty to walk on and the carpet was shredding and the nail strip was exposed by the tile to the bathroom. The bathroom shower curtain was falling apart as it looked to be like the cheapest model from the local grocery store and the drain on the tub was majorly plugged as it would not drain very fast at all when showering. The beds and blankets were hard as a rock and I love a nice firm mattress. Could not sleep but a couple hours on it. Breakfast, although lots of choices was bland and cold items not very cold. Staff were not very social and hard to understand some. This is definitely not worth $150 a night. Only nice thing was location from the highway and the only hotel on south side of town. Will not recommend this hotel and will not be returning sadly. I will be contacting Wyndham with photos of the degraded property as something needs changed at this hotel as this hotel has the potential to be great!

Pool had been closed for 4 days nothing was said beds were not fresh room was hot even though i preched in entry and 4th floor stunk from Marijuana front desk clerk was difficult to understand and he didn't care for the age of this property it is poorly maintained its not worth the high price

Pool was out of service. Could use some deep cleaning or updating.

Very clean and efficient rooms. Also the hotel staff is exceptional, very friendly and went above and beyond to be sure I was well kept.

Our toilet didnt flush. The comforter on one bed had food or something at the bottom of it. The wall has smeared something or another on it. The room definitely wasnt worth what i made for it.

The tub and shower were filthy. The bed sheets had large stains. The pool was closed due to frozen pipes. The quality of this location has severely gone down hill. Although we have stayed here many times, this is the last.

There was poop in our bathroom … there was hair and cream colored substance on the bathroom counter. I have never ever had such an issue with cleanliness at a hotel I spent decent money for

Not a bad place to stay if you ignore the semen stains on the wall.

Comforters were stained on both beds. Bathroom appeared that it hadn’t been cleaned since previous client. Not swept. Dust bunnies, used hair bands with hair, and mud or tar on tile. Shower pressure so low it ran down wall onto floor. Breakfast was ok but juice and gravy were watered down. Stay was fair but wouldn’t take my wife and daughter back. Pictures were better than reality.

Bed cover had stain and needed cleaned. Mold growing around bath tub and wall repair was not repainted around air exchange unit.

The staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean, comfortable and met our expectations!

Room 308 could use a service call from root-rooter. The sink drained slowly. Worse than that, the shower drain was slow. We’d be standing ankle deep when we got done showering. Clearly, once this is addressed, this review does little to convey the overall desirability of this establishment. Breakfasts were nice, and exactly what you would expect from a Wyndham property. The room cooled quite efficiently-we even turned off the AC and fan, and at no point were we uncomfortable enough to turn it back on, although this might have something to do with the steady rain descending on Pittsburg during our stay. The walls did little to buffer sound. We could hear 310, and I’m sure they could hear us, although at no time did either of us feel a need to communicate through the walls to “knock it off over there”. I’d choose this place again if we’re ever back in town.

Beds comfortable but all VERY squeaky. Wall damage around shower. Lotion in the conditioner bottle in shower. You can hear other rooms around you. Breakfast great. Sheets clean.

The hotel is nice enough in the lobby but my room had multiple issues—the bathroom faucet was broken so no hot water in the sink, rust stains in the bathtub and sink, the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, WiFi went out so the TV didn’t work. Staff was friendly.

The pillows are horrible. Very lumpy. The lighting in the room was so dim that we had to open the curtains to see. We could not adjust the A/C and it was warm in the room. These items could be improved.

Extremely noisy trains, cars, doors, and the climate control in the room. Over 5 minutes just to get a decent temperature of hot water. Not as hot as it should be though. Nice bed though and the front desk was clerk was exceptionally nice

The tile in the bathroom was not even grouted. Water damage around the bathtub drywall coming off of the ceiling. and the doors didn’t clear the floor so you couldn’t open the bathroom door all the way.

Rooms clean, good beds, nice sized rooms and great price!

Room was spacious, clean and quiet, bed was comfortable and there was a nice shower. We did the pre-check in, so all we had to do was give our name and we were handed a room key. Easy.

Excellent service. They were able to accommodate our request for early check-in even though not initially available. Met our needs multiple time and even found a lost item for our child.

Staff were very friendly, from the Front Desk to Housekeeping.

It was a very cozy and clean hotel, upon check in the worker was very nice and helpful! The stay was good, other than some noisy neighbors but that’s not really on the hotels end. Check out was simple however the worker was asleep in the office and made no communication, as well as didn’t even thank us for staying. He simply said “done” and went back to his office to sleep. Other than that, I would highly recommend.

Clean room great breakfast staff was wonderful

Given a room key to access someone else’s room. The person’s luggage was in the room already. Thank goodness they didn’t walk out of the shower or something…happy they were not there changing. Just made me wonder if anyone else was in my room when I was not there

As we checked in I ask about a funeral discount or if they took AARP, she said I did get a discount through the booking and she said she was going to try & see if she could get into the account to maybe get more discount. She never got back to us & was not there when we checked out this morning. So, no discount of any was applied & the man at check out said he can't do anything except at check in, so no discount! Also, the TV's are really not set up right: You turn on one & then when other one turned on, the first one on goes to mute & you cann't hear at all even after trying the mute on & off button! Then when you turn one off they both go off!!!!!! I was not pleased, will not stay again. We have never had a problem booking through on line & other places would give funeral discount with no problems. $378.00 is just too much!

Clean room. Great staff.

Booked a suite and then they did not have one. Was told we would get part of out fee refunded. That NEVER happened. We had over 20 rooms in our party we will take it elsewhere next year.

Short overnight stay. Close to Pitt State. Friendly staff. Did not have time to sit down for breakfast but looked like a nice variety of breakfast items. Bed was soft and comfy. Loved that there was a selection of body wash, shampoo and conditioner containers in shower.

Good location near shopping and the bypass. Bath had some mold which was surprising since it isn't that old, but there is not an exhaust in the bathroom. Staff was very friendly, and it was a nice experience. Only lodging on that end of town and close to the college.

Stayed there instead of the smokey casino. Was close to casino, but much cleaner!

I like it's on the very south end of town so not too many people or even too noisy even on the 4th of July. My favorite place to go to at this time of year.

It was easy to get to.

Nice quiet location with easy access to stores and the bypass. Friendly staff and continental breakfast a nice perk.

If you are visiting Pitt State College, this hotel is 5 mins up the block driiving and a 15minute walk.

Convenient and sufficient but dated and no frills. “Hot” breakfast was tepid at best.

The cleanliness of the room was very poor. I felt as though I walked into a dirty room. Stains on the walls, the edges on the floor were dusty and gross. The tub had hair in it still. The air vent was rusty. It just didn’t feel clean. The walls had paint chips. A little TLC would go a little ways here and make it feel nice again. The breakfast was cold, the juice was terrible and watered down and the milk was warm. Not sure I’d come back again.

The front desk was very nice and the hotel was very quiet and clean and in a good location. The only thing that wasn’t very good was the breakfast. The biscuits were rock hard and the selections were pretty slim. I would stay here again!

We had the best stay! The staff was helpful, kind, and flexible. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was hot and plentiful.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. the only thing about the room was low water pressure in shower. the breakfast had good variety but the eggs and sausage was luke warm. "Don't use Expedia to book your room they charged us $45 more than what the hotel charged us!!!
