The Groton Inn

Overall nice and cozy place. Very good beds and I loved they had real duvet covers. Also I appreciated the water fountain. I think that paper plates and plastic utensils were out of place. Anyhow the breakfast quality was good. The staff was ok, but definitely not friendly. Never said good morning etc. So I didn’t feel welcomed to this hotel. (We spent 3 nights.) Backyard view to the hill was stunning!

Adjacent to the top restaurant Forge and Vine. The small duct HVAC system cycles on and off and is not a comfortable system guaranteeing a restful night. The continental breakfast at the fireplace in the main hall is nice.

Wonderful Inn that we always look forward to our stay. Great accommodations, wonderful breakfast and nicely stocked workout room. Highly recommend!

Wonderful porperty, staff and the air conditioning is TOP NOTCH.. It works and they keep the gym nice and cool..

Very nice hotel with some oddities. The room had a nice closet to hang clothes but no furniture with drawers. Clothes had to stay in your luggage. The popular restaurant in back and the Inn share a parking lot. When the restaurant (Forge and Vine) is busy, you, as a guest at the Inn, will have trouble finding a place to park. If you leave the Inn and hope to return around 5 or 6 pm, good luck. The Forge and Vine is VERY nice and the good news is you can just walk across the parking lot to get there. We had a room on the front side right on Main Street. I do not recommend this. That is a shockingly busy thoroughfare. There is traffic noise. On the plus side, you will not have any difficulty getting up in the morning. The only way out of the Inn is to turn onto Main Street. At certain hours of the day you can forget about turning left on Main Street. Just turn right and figure out later how to reverse course. The room, the fixtures, the furniture was all top notch and very nice. The staff was terrific. The morning continental breakfast underwhelms. The food is not bad, but am not a big fan of eating on sofas. Prefer tables. I guess the choice was atmosphere (which IS nice) over functionality. The coffee bar is very nice. The gym is quite nice. It has some free weights, some incline benches, a solid dual pulley machine and the standard cardio stuff. Would stay there again if we return, but would get a room not facing the street.

Enjoy the free coffee and tea station near check-in, as well as the daily breakfast and fitness center. Nice view of the nearby hill from backside of property. Make sure to see it during sunset.

Our stay was short, but very pleasant. We liked being able to sit on the beautiful porch at sunset, as well as take our drinks out back to the Adirondack chairs next to the restaurant and take in the view.

We loved staying here! The room was beautiful, the beds super comfy and clean, and it was very quiet. The breakfast in the morning was incredible!! Super friendly staff. Only downsides were that there was no conditioner available (the bottle mounted on the wall had run out) and the tub drain drained incredibly slowly which was gross due to the water buildup. Our room key didn't work a few times due to low battery but that's just bad luck/timing. The restaurant behind the Inn was incredible (food and views!). We also enjoyed rocking in the rocking chairs on the front porch. We will be back!!!

Always a very pleasant experience. Rooms are clean and the linens are amazing. Never want to get out of bed. Pillows are awesome.

While the room was immaculately clean, their styling is very basic. Nothing exciting. No view to speak of. Expected more style or view for the money.

The property from the outside was pretty but for the cost we were not impressed with the room’s cleanliness or the service provided. Our children slept on the pull out couch which flung crumbs everywhere when they pulled it out. It had bedding already on it which I really didn’t think was clean but there were no extra linens in the closet just one pillow. The bathroom being accessible was fine, but no matter how you put the shower curtain water was all over the floor. The water temp was also difficult to control. The biggest issue was them denying the free breakfast that Expedia said was included for the hotel and listed under each room option. According the the hotel’s staff, “That’s wrong and false advertising on Expedia’s part and they can’t make decisions for them.” I’ve honestly never had hotel staff be argumentative about it and refusing to honor it. We’ve had family who stayed there before with no issue, but we will not stay again.

Perfect. New clean. Breakfast good.

Lovely room. A bit cool upon entering, easily remedied with adjustment in thermostat. Bed very very soft. Last thing, the shower was hot and very nice however some of the shower head water delivery was a bit squed due to mineral buildup.

Beware of room 110 which abuts the elevator & stairs & reception. Might as well be a mechanical closet. Unless you enjoy noisy elevator gears grinding at your headboard all night. Or loud constant foot traffic with yelling stomping coughing drunken partygoers pacing and congregating by your door nonstop searching for their afterparty. This is Worst room location ever. 100% overpriced disappointment. Waste of $400. Years Be sure to plan an xtra day after staying here to actually sleep in peace.

This is a beautiful Inn in the center of the Town of Groton. There are numerous ways to enjoy a relaxing visit. Outdoor seating offers views of rolling hillsides and a quiet Main Street. On chillier evenings, there is a large fireplace in the lobby with comfortable seating. Our room was spacious and very quiet.

Staff was very friendly. Room was wonderfully spacious! My first visit to the Groton Inn since 1959. All changes are for the better!

Great Inn and helpful, friendly staff!

Very comfortable mattress and bedding, beautiful locale and amazing plantings/grounds for a small Inn. The check-in desk staff were fairly overwhelmed and gave a grumpy reception, but perhaps it was a long day. Very lovely breakfast. Some ghosts linger in the rooms after all the history of this spot. Bring a candle.

Liked spaciousness and furnishing of first floor...hot beverage availability...wall hangings throughout the inn...breakfasts...third-floor common areas: eaves, furnishings, and windows...cheerfulness of most of the Inn's staff at the front desk (except for one whom I never saw smile).

Enjoyed our stay at Groton, we came in for a friend’s wedding. Loved the restaurant, the view at the back and the proximity to what’s necessary. The staffs were really amazing Eleanor, Sophia, Olivia and also the cleaning crew and the other front desk employees.Very accommodative and friendly. It’s a place that I would visit again.

The Groton Inn was very clean and cozy. The staff were fantastic. We were in the area for a soccer tournament. The location was central to shops, dinning and the field. Definitely will stay there again.

This was the perfect spot if you want to catch something at the Groton hill music hall. Super friendly people, gorgeous lobby, and close to the venue!

Beautiful property. Quiet. Attentive staff. And is an easy drive to Harvard, Lexington, Lincoln, Concord, and other beautiful NE destinations.

Great inn with cozy feel from the moment you walk in. A must is to dine at the Forge & Vine as the food is excellent. Staff are polite and helpful. Had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Everything was fantastic at check in we had a wonderful receptionist who upgraded our, she was very polite and professional. Room was super. Not the bad, the next morning we went for breakfast that was included in the price of the room.but there was no breakfast. The ladies at the front desk said there was no breakfast because of a snafu. Many guest including myself were upset. If fact I heard one guest who said it was his last time staying there. I;d stay there again but they have to do a better job on delivering what they promised when I booked. Other then that it was very nice.

Average place. Not really the quaint bed and breakfast we were looking for. More like a hotel with minimal warmth or charm. Rooms and common areas were clean. Terrible placement of bed right under heating unit. The breakfast isn’t much of anything. Continental. All cold with no fresh items except fruit. Wouldn’t stay here again but do check out Gibbet Hill Grill which is fantastic and just up the street.
