We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Koulen Hotel, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and helpful, making us feel right at home. The room we stayed in was impressively spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning was a welcome relief, keeping the atmosphere cool and pleasant throughout our stay. The bed was large and very comfortable, ensuring restful nights. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring ample space and all the necessary amenities. The shower was refreshing and well-maintained, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. One of the highlights was the outdoor pool area, which felt like a tropical oasis. The garden was well kept, providing a serene atmosphere to relax and unwind. Hotel is good but not outstanding. Location is great, close to all you need. Staff is friendly and always there when needed. Could been given a room at the inner court instead of the street side to our family with two small kids, barking dogs on the street near our room kept kids awake. Breakfast has a good selection but only filtered coffee is a no-go, no orange juice. Nice pool but jacuzzi’s did not work. Friendly staffed pool bar. Gym was fine.

Our room was very large and spacious for a family of five. The kitchen supplies are basic but adequate. Breakfast was fairly limited but it was low season, not sure if this would change when the hotel is busier. The gym is older but serves its purpose. The hotel is nice and clean with a large pool and helpful, friendly staff. Outside there is always an available tuktuk driver to take you the short distance to the shops. Our hotel arranged the tour / tour guide for us to Angkor Wat and other temples, it was very easy and the guide was really good.

Really lovely hotel, in a quiet area only 1km from Pub Street. Exceptional service, huge 3 bedroom apartment, nice pool and pool bar. I loved our stay here, would definitely return.

The stay as perfect. Walking distance to Pub St. and the Night Markets & also conveniently located to Angkor Wat and attractions. One of our travelers fell ill and they coordinated a doctor to the hotel and then were so very helpful during a hospital stay. Very friendly, very helpful, great breakfast included, wonderful pool, and just an overall amazing experience! Thank you!

Amazing service from the team at Koulen Hotel. We booked a single apartment and friends the same. We were offered to change to a 2 bed apartment and it worked out better. We both had separate bedrooms and bathrooms that had a shared lounge / kitchen over looked the pool Location - just round the corner from the palace and about 10 mins to the main pub street and drinks. Easy via Tut tut. Staff - friendly. Courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had a fabulous stay. Staff are available to provide tut tut rides into town and pre book a return so super handy. Trips - we had contacted the hotel ahead of our staff. They provided a long list of tours with English speaking guides. We booked 3 tours with them. It was seamless. The guide Rit was knowledgable and we had either an air con bus or tut tuts ( dependent on trip and Journey time ) and it was great. Well worth doing this with them. Food - breakfast buffet is great. Endless coffee and tea refills and everything from continental to cooked ( bacon / crepes/ omelette plus noodles and soups ). If you have a sunrise tour they will pack you a breakfast to take with you which was great. Restaurant on site was good food as well. Laundry is done off site but via reception and ask to pay per kg and it’s back later the same day if in before 1000. Spa - non on site. They did recommended a great spa in the centre Khmer reflex spa. Pool - relaxing. Cooling and lovely. Pool bar with service.

Lovely hotel - the aesthetics were very nice. Wish the pool area was a bit bigger, but it was suitable and the hotel bar was very convenient. Breakfast was quite good and I was even able to secure a to-go breakfast basket for my sunrise tour day when I was leaving at 4:30am. It was full and quite good - breads with jam and butter, boiled eggs, bacon and fruit. Fruit was waiting for me in my room as well. I enjoyed the balcony view to the pool area. My room was upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite (though I still just had access to the one bedroom), which was theoretically nice but meant I had a huge cavernous space for just one person, much of the space seemed a bit wasted in its design. Staff are friendly but communication was a bit of a challenge overall: 1) From basic things like ordering chicken and getting beef, and ordering and iced latte and getting a hot one, to bigger things 2) despite the description on hotels.com and on their own website that suggests they have a spa, it is in fact an agreement with an outside company. You can either go there or have the masseuse come to your room - mine arrived 30 minutes late without communicating. I had inquired about spa services before my arrival via email when setting up my airport transfer and received a services list with prices so I knew what I wanted when I arrived. I was presented with an entirely different menu once I arrived on the premises. Please note that their currency exchange is extremely limited.

Spectacular hotel, very clean! Spacious rooms 80 m2/800 sqf, with one, two and three bedrooms, plus living room, and kitchenette. Staff is wonderful, great restaurant/cafeteria. The 2BR suite we got is amazing, its very clean, spacious, full amenities and comfortable. The staff are amazing, with good english. Tuk tuk are always available in front of the hotel, although its a walking distance to the Pub Street. The only thing I would improve are email comunication before arriving, more english TV channel, and better breakfast quality.

The staff was nice and friendly. We could get everything from the hotel service. That included transportations, bikes rental, and tickets to shows. The hotel and very clean. The breakfast was very delicious. We liked the soup and fruits.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Koulen Hotel, and I can't recommend it highly enough! Hotel is good but not outstanding. Location is great, close to all you need. Staff is friendly and always there when needed. Could been given a room at the inner court instead of the street side to our family with two small kids, barking dogs on the street near our room kept kids awake. Breakfast has a good selection but only filtered coffee is a no-go, no orange juice. Nice pool but jacuzzi’s did not work. Friendly staffed pool bar. Gym was fine.

Our hotel arranged the tour / tour guide for us to Angkor Wat and other temples, it was very easy and the guide was really good.

Spectacular hotel, very clean! Spacious rooms 80 m2/800 sqf, with one, two and three bedrooms, plus living room, and kitchenette. Staff is wonderful, great restaurant/cafeteria. Lovely hotel - the aesthetics were very nice. Wish the pool area was a bit bigger, but it was suitable and the hotel bar was very convenient. Breakfast was quite good and I was even able to secure a to-go breakfast basket for my sunrise tour day when I was leaving at 4:30am. It was full and quite good - breads with jam and butter, boiled eggs, bacon and fruit. Fruit was waiting for me in my room as well. I enjoyed the balcony view to the pool area. My room was upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite (though I still just had access to the one bedroom), which was theoretically nice but meant I had a huge cavernous space for just one person, much of the space seemed a bit wasted in its design. Staff are friendly but communication was a bit of a challenge overall: 1) From basic things like ordering chicken and getting beef, and ordering and iced latte and getting a hot one, to bigger things 2) despite the description on hotels.com and on their own website that suggests they have a spa, it is in fact an agreement with an outside company. You can either go there or have the masseuse come to your room - mine arrived 30 minutes late without communicating. I had inquired about spa services before my arrival via email when setting up my airport transfer and received a services list with prices so I knew what I wanted when I arrived. I was presented with an entirely different menu once I arrived on the premises. Please note that their currency exchange is extremely limited.

Highly recommend this hotel. Our two-bedroom suite was huge, clean, and comfortable. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Most importantly, the hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful. Lin at the front desk helped us several times, including finding a last-minute guide and driver for the temples when our original plans fell through. We also had a fantastic afternoon with wonderful Chef Chum Chien, his assistant Koy, and their younger assistant at the hotel’s cooking class. We learned how to make delicious dishes including fish amok. The cooking class was one of the highlights of our entire visits to Cambodia. We loved Hotel Koulen and would very gladly return.

From start to finish the Koulen was a great experience. Great location, amazing staff, and awesome amenities. Pai and Bee were especially helpful when I needed suggestions for places to eat, drink, and explore. Will definitely be back. Thank you to the Koulen for making a good trip great!

The stay as perfect. Walking distance to Pub St. and the Night Markets & also conveniently located to Angkor Wat and attractions. One of our travelers fell ill and they coordinated a doctor to the hotel and then were so very helpful during a hospital stay. Very friendly, very helpful, great breakfast included, wonderful pool, and just an overall amazing experience! Thank you!

Amazing service from the team at Koulen Hotel. We booked a single apartment and friends the same. We were offered to change to a 2 bed apartment and it worked out better. We both had separate bedrooms and bathrooms that had a shared lounge / kitchen over looked the pool Location - just round the corner from the palace and about 10 mins to the main pub street and drinks. Easy via Tut tut. Staff - friendly. Courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had a fabulous stay. Staff are available to provide tut tut rides into town and pre book a return so super handy. Trips - we had contacted the hotel ahead of our staff. They provided a long list of tours with English speaking guides. We booked 3 tours with them. It was seamless. The guide Rit was knowledgable and we had either an air con bus or tut tuts ( dependent on trip and Journey time ) and it was great. Well worth doing this with them. Food - breakfast buffet is great. Endless coffee and tea refills and everything from continental to cooked ( bacon / crepes/ omelette plus noodles and soups ). If you have a sunrise tour they will pack you a breakfast to take with you which was great. Restaurant on site was good food as well. Laundry is done off site but via reception and ask to pay per kg and it’s back later the same day if in before 1000. Spa - non on site. They did recommended a great spa in the centre Khmer reflex spa. Pool - relaxing. Cooling and lovely. Pool bar with service.

Staff are available to provide tut tut rides into town and pre book a return so super handy. Trips - we had contacted the hotel ahead of our staff. They provided a long list of tours with English speaking guides. We booked 3 tours with them. It was seamless. The guide Rit was knowledgable and we had either an air con bus or tut tuts ( dependent on trip and Journey time ) and it was great. Well worth doing this with them. Food - breakfast buffet is great. Endless coffee and tea refills and everything from continental to cooked ( bacon / crepes/ omelette plus noodles and soups ). If you have a sunrise tour they will pack you a breakfast to take with you which was great. Restaurant on site was good food as well. Laundry is done off site but via reception and ask to pay per kg and it’s back later the same day if in before 1000. Spa - non on site. They did recommended a great spa in the centre Khmer reflex spa. Pool - relaxing. Cooling and lovely. Pool bar with service.

The 2BR suite we got is amazing, its very clean, spacious, full amenities and comfortable. The staff are amazing, with good english. Tuk tuk are always available in front of the hotel, although its a walking distance to the Pub Street. The only thing I would improve are email comunication before arriving, more english TV channel, and better breakfast quality.

We loved the Koulen Hotel. We stayed in a 3 bed apartment, which provided everything we needed for our stay. Location is a big plus, as we wanted quiet rooms for restful sleep, but with all the convenience of being located beside Heritage Mall, and a very short walk to the river, Old Market and Pub Street. Staff at Koulen were very helpful and accommodating. They can help with all transport and booking requests. Breakfast was delicious and extensive offering Asian and Western choices. The pool area is a calm oasis and great to hang out in the afternoon heat as it is in the shade.

Hotel is good but not outstanding. Location is great, close to all you need. Staff is friendly and always there when needed. Could been given a room at the inner court instead of the street side to our family with two small kids, barking dogs on the street near our room kept kids awake. Breakfast has a good selection but only filtered coffee is a no-go, no orange juice. Nice pool but jacuzzi’s did not work. Friendly staffed pool bar. Gym was fine.

Highly recommend this hotel. Our two-bedroom suite was huge, clean, and comfortable. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Most importantly, the hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful. Lin at the front desk helped us several times, including finding a last-minute guide and driver for the temples when our original plans fell through. We also had a fantastic afternoon with wonderful Chef Chum Chien, his assistant Koy, and their younger assistant at the hotel’s cooking class. We learned how to make delicious dishes including fish amok. The cooking class was one of the highlights of our entire visits to Cambodia. We loved Hotel Koulen and would very gladly return.

I stayed here for a week. All of the staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They took care of my mother while she waited for me which is saying a lot about the staff and hotel. I loved it here so much! The property is beautiful. The food and drink are delicious. When I visit again I would definitely stay here.

Amazing service from the team at Koulen Hotel. We booked a single apartment and friends the same. We were offered to change to a 2 bed apartment and it worked out better. We both had separate bedrooms and bathrooms that had a shared lounge / kitchen over looked the pool Location - just round the corner from the palace and about 10 mins to the main pub street and drinks. The staff was nice and friendly. We could get everything from the hotel service. That included transportations, bikes rental, and tickets to shows. The hotel and very clean. The breakfast was very delicious. We liked the soup and fruits.

Lovely hotel - the aesthetics were very nice. Wish the pool area was a bit bigger, but it was suitable and the hotel bar was very convenient. Breakfast was quite good and I was even able to secure a to-go breakfast basket for my sunrise tour day when I was leaving at 4:30am. It was full and quite good - breads with jam and butter, boiled eggs, bacon and fruit. Fruit was waiting for me in my room as well. I enjoyed the balcony view to the pool area. My room was upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite (though I still just had access to the one bedroom), which was theoretically nice but meant I had a huge cavernous space for just one person, much of the space seemed a bit wasted in its design. Staff are friendly but communication was a bit of a challenge overall: 1) From basic things like ordering chicken and getting beef, and ordering and iced latte and getting a hot one, to bigger things 2) despite the description on hotels.com and on their own website that suggests they have a spa, it is in fact an agreement with an outside company. You can either go there or have the masseuse come to your room - mine arrived 30 minutes late without communicating. I had inquired about spa services before my arrival via email when setting up my airport transfer and received a services list with prices so I knew what I wanted when I arrived. I was presented with an entirely different menu once I arrived on the premises. Please note that their currency exchange is extremely limited.

Beautiful hotel and everyone was so incredibly kind. Our room was big and comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of choices even with a 5 day stay. We loved the pool and the happy hour but one get one drinks. We walked to pub street and restaurants in the area and felt completely safe. I would highly recommend staying here. We were extremely impressed with this hotel.

Sehr freundliches und kinderfreundliches Personal, ein wunderschönes Hotel und das Zimmer war sogar wesentlich größer als es auf den Fotos aussah. Der Pool war klasse, das Essen im eigenen Restaurant war ebenfalls eine 10/10 und die Lage war fantastisch. Zum Nachtmarkt am Fluss und zur Pub Street waren es nur wenige Gehminuten und bei den Tempeln war man mit dem Tuk Tuk ebenfalls sehr schnell.

So-Bangkok is at a great location at the Southeast corner of Lumphini park. It is just a few steps from the MRT (metro), neat the monorail. As a tourist you can be anywhere quickly. The staff is super nice. The restaurants are excellent a feature special food nights ranging from Bangkok street food to Kaiseki-style Japanese dinners. Of course there is a French night too. This has been my second trip to Bangkok, and I gladly returned to So-Bangkok. I felt on familiar territory even though 10 years passed between the two trips.
