HOTEL HILLARYS Akasaka

The only qualm I truly have is that there are only 2 laundry machines for each half of the hotel. Getting it done was a pain since so many people had only 2 machines to use.

このホテルは、何度も、利用していますが、コーヒーやデトックスウォーターのサービスがあって良いです。ホテルも全体的にきれいです。ただ、大浴場(女性)は、洗い場が4ヶ所しか、無いし、脱衣所の洗面台も4ヶ所しか無いため、毎回、混雑していて、ゆっくりくつろいで利用出来た事が無いです…。

Great location with two subway lines nearby and lots of dining options around. The room was just what we expected and worked well for our stay. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the staff was super friendly and quick to keep everything stocked. Only downside is that the rooftop is not open outside of breakfast and happy hour. We were traveling as a group, and other than the roof, there wasn’t really a spot to just hang out and relax together.

The Onsen is great

Staff was pleasant but the hotel room was very small. Very basic room. The onsen in the hotel could be better kept, wish the hot tub was hotter. It was just lukewarm.

Excellent. Room no smaller than you'd expect for a Tokyo business style hotel. Efficient. Comfort Modern. 9th floor Sento is a highlight. Breakfast buffet simple but full for either Japanese or Western tastes. Good neighborhood, easy access to Metro. Would stay again and again.

Very very clean and the staff was very helpful. Our toiletries were replaced promptly every day. The onsen was really great. Tea and coffee options were nice too.

駅や飲食店が近く便利で、お部屋もオシャレでした。衛生面の残念な点は、 冷蔵庫に髪の毛が複数入っていたこと、マグカップに茶渋がついていたことです。

Room is dark and smell. The air quality of the whole hotel is bad.

The staff were nice and it wasn’t too far from the train station. However, there was a huge brown stain on the wall by the sink in our room. We also noticed that the shelf in the shower that holds the shampoo etc was broken off and continuously fell off the hinges during our stay. The holder for the shower head was also completely loose and felt like it was going to fall off the wall. To be honest, we stayed at a 5 star hotel in Kyoto for the same price as we paid here and I would say this place was a 2 or barely 3 star for the same price. We were pretty disappointed. The hallways also smelt like mildew or mold.

We had an enjoyable stay. Our room was clean and fitted with wood paneling and decor to make it feel more modern. The rooms are small like most rooms in Japan. The door opens immediately into the double bed and there is about 3.5 feet of space around two sides of the bed. The sink is in the main room with the toilet and shower in a separate smaller room. Bed and pillows were comfortable, but the bed was on the firm side which has been the norm here compared to hotels in the states. The onsen was nice, but not as clean as other onsens we've been to on our trip - some hair balls and paper floating in the onsen, not a lot but noticeable. The location was very nice with lots of restaurants around and station options. The neighborhood was very lively with lots of nightlife. We were on the 7th floor so had no issues with street noise.

Amazing pyjamas. Pretty average breakfast and good sauna laundry options. Cleanliness was ok, our room smelled of cigarettes.

Unfortunately the room smelled of mildew and the spa had a drain fly infestation. Clearly not enough regular cleaning is being done. I'd not stay again.

Great service, but could not go into the spa hot tub because of my tattoos , could not sleep because bed and pillow to hard, and walls are thin and you can hear conversation and loud noises from others at 2am .

Un hôtel très bien situé ! Dommage que nous n’avons pas accès à la terrasse sans payer un frais supplémentaire exorbitant. L’absence de fenêtre dans la chambre devrait aussi être clairement indiqué. Nous avions une «\xa0fenêtre\xa0» sans ouverture possible donnant sur un mur, mais avec un puit de lumière et sans rideau d’obscurcissement. Pas optimal pour dormir. Somme toute un bel hôtel pour deux nuits pas plus.

위치는 정말 좋았으나, 너무 좁고 방음이 전혀 되지 않습니다. 옆방에서 기침하는 소리, 대화하는 소리가 다 들리고 옆방, 윗방의 욕실에서 샤워하는 소리, 물 흐르는 소리가 매우매우 자세하게 크게 들립니다. 깊은 잠을 잘 수 있는 호텔은 아닙니다. 식사는 특히 카레가 맛있었습니다.

great location with 2 metro stations a 2 minute walk away. clean, modern hotel but very small rooms and thin walls-could hear our neighbours talking all night. If you're lucky enough to get quiet or no neighbours, then this would be the perfect stay

Well located, clean hotel but the smallest room I ever seen. Traveled with my daughter and our big suitcases barely fit in the room. Bathroom was also extremely small. I have traveled to Japan several times but never had such a small room before.

Breakfast was good but room is small and serves all floors in two towers. So get there early or you may have to wait. Good Akasaka location, staff are nice with decent English.

Værelset var ret småt for to piger med to store kufferter og en lille. Men vi overlevede og havde også godt hørt at japanske hotelværelser ville være små. Dog var det lidt ærgeligt vi fik en dobbelt seng i stedet for to enkeltmands, da det så ud til at to enkeltmands senge ville have mere plads generelt i værelset. Ellers var opholdet meget dejligt og vildt godt placeret!!

Hillary’s is a great hotel as a base for a trip to Tokyo. Centrally located with loads of local amenities. They were amazing as we were returning back to stay before flying home they looked after our luggage as we traveled around Japan.

Very typical japanese room, slightly larger than most. Staff were very attentive and the the room was cleaned to a gigh standard every day

Property was ok, nothing special and the area is not great as a tourist. Hotel staff were only somewhat knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast was ok, room was clean but not perfect. Housekeeper kept outside door open creating humidity in the hotel and made uncomfortable. . Would not stay here again. Missed train and was less than hour late for checkout and was charged, with lack of understanding. If i was going to be charged for late checkout I would not have been running in the station to get back, I would have enjoyed my day.

We booked this hotel because it says it has two twins option for our two daughters. Upon checking in, they got a double bed option instead. When they came back to ask to switch to the twin room, the staff said they do not have that room option available unless they pay extra ??? We had to FaceTime from the US to talk to them but they were firm that category of room (standard twin) is unavailable. After we went back and forth, they said they cant accommodate them that evening but will have one available the next day (We booked 3 nights). We we back to Expedia to find that there are standard twin rooms available that same night if we would have booked another room. That just seem fishy and dishonest. We contacted Expedia through chat and have them talk to the hotel, but nothing changed. We get it that they probably have to save face after they too our girls that there isn’t a twin room available or that they were just following hotel procedures, but we felt that someone was either lying to our girls or they were just unwilling to help. Not sure if we will book at this hotel again.

Location was perfect. Staff were friendly and spoke English which was helpful. Have good recommendations on where to eat and drink nearby. Rooms were immaculate. Onset on roof was a bonus.

Room was small, but manageable. Bathroom was uncomfortably small. Room condition and beds were OK. Cleaning people were very noisy in the AM and disregarded the do not disturb sign multiple times. Rates over a holiday weekend we're quite high and therefore not a good value. Location was good however - many restaurants nearby and also well connected to train lines.

Great service from reception when they organised and early morning taxi to airport, great onsen, room small so be prepared but u get what u pay for, great location.

Hotel Hillarys Akasaka was a good location and choice for the beginning of our stay in Tokyo. Average sized room for Tokyo, not a lot of extra space but sufficient to serve our needs. Staff serviced our room each day and it was very clean. The sink with a long counter was along one wall in the main part of room while the toilet/bidet and shower were in a separate room. A little unusual but having the sink that way did provide more counter space. We opted to include breakfast each morning at their buffet since it was the start of our trip and we still needed to explore the area for other food options. They had a good variety of food choices, some Japanese style and some more American style. Both of us were able to find foods we liked. Hotel is in a good central location, tons of restaurants, conv stores, shipping and pharmacy type stores. The area got busier at night, it seemed like an area the local people visited for dinner. With the Akasaka-mitsuke station just down the street, I think the locals that live in the area exited the station and visited their favorite restaurants before heading home. The front desk staff was awesome. Very attentive, and quick. Answered our many questions with ease. They also shipped our luggage to Kyoto at the end of our stay. They were very experienced with that and it was quick and easy. (The photos were a quick after thought, shortly before checking out, to show room layout. Excuse the messy bed. 😉)

Good clean facilities, very close to the train station. Numerous restaurants, and cafes. You just step out and the streets on both sides have so many dinning options. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel.

Excellent place to stay in Tokyo. Several subway lines around that can take you anywhere in the city in 20mins

This Hotel is located near a subway-station, so you can get everywhere with a short walk. Some supermarkets were only a few steps away, and restaurants or bars are all around. The staff at the reception is always helpful and speaking english. Although the rooms are quite little, they are functional. hey are created including a workspace with LAN connection, washbasin with mirror for your morning routine, and a bed (large enough for me). A seperate bathroom with shower & bathtub, and with a toilet is added inside. The rooms were cleaned everyday. At the 9th floor there are two highlights. The restaurant where you get breakfast, or if you buy a ticket at the reception, you can have your dinner there. Second Highlight is the "SPA" with hot water bathtub. This area is strictly seperated (men / women). Very relaxing... I liked my stay at Hillarys Akasaka and would recommend this Hotel for short trip travellers ( 14 days aprox).

Fantastic location. It’s between three train stations and very central. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are small, but clean and beautiful.

I had a wonderful time, my bedroom was cleaned when i was away and was perfect for when i returned during the night time! The breakfast was delicious and very well priced.

This was a great hotel in a very active neighborhood, connected easily by subway. Rooms are small but I was not expecting much bigger for a major world capital. Staff was friendly, all were speaking English. Breakfast was great for an incredible price on a roof top. At night, they turn the breakfast restaurant into a lounge (not free) but pretty pleasant if you want to decompress. Walking distance to several subway lines, restaurants, world of Harry Potter (if you’re in this), and more. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room was nice for one person, but for two I would imagine it being a little bit crowded. Room was very clean and I enjoyed staying there. Only problem I had was that the room was quite cold and I didn't get the heater/aircon to work. On top of that the planket was so used when you hold it up to the light you could see through it. Otherwise I had a great stay! Breakfast was simple but good and the bath was nice.

Very small room. Very small breakfast area, and very limited breakfast selection, be prepared to stand in line. Bathroom was too small to fit a zink, so it was placed at the foot of the bed. Not coming back. Reception staff are welcoming and service minded.
