Great relaxing spot right on the lake! Very clean and quiet… They provide kayaks and paddle boards for you to navigate the lake

Perfect vacation hotel on the waterfront. Free kayak and SAP gave us extra activity during the stay. It is highly recommended for a family or a couple.

First time we stayed at Balacar and the Blue Bird is awesome. You have to consider this is a remote small town so don’t expect resort accommodations. Hotel has bungalows with A/C, super cute, super clean and the staff is super nice so I would say they have everything you need. Breakfast maybe included but remember this is served at Bacalar time, around 9-11am and it’s light, fresh fruit, coffee and toast. If you’re early people like us, you can drive around 10 minutes to get to the main square and a block away you can find a Panaderia which serves coffee and sweets or sandwiches always handy if you’re going on tour. They have a great waterfront location, where you can swim, a sandbar just across and it’s really close to Cenotes Azul, Esmeralda and Cocalito. The Blue Bird has free kayaks and paddle boards you can use. Beware of the lagoon itself, three cenotes or sinkholes are in the lagoon so people have died swimming, kayaking or paddleboarding due to the currents, some of these cenotes are 200-300 feet deep and their overflow has fill up the lagoon. You want to use the equipment during the morning while the water is super calm but still have to wear lifejacket at all times. Hotel close its door at night but you can contact the front desk if you need to do a late check in or you’re back after 9pm. This is not a party town but you can still have wonderful time and food is delicious. Hope to be back to Bacalar and stay at the Blue Bird again!

Muy bien , solo algún mantenimiento al muelle pero todo bien gracias

Las cabañas están bien, la ropa de cama deja mucho que desear al igual que el desayuno que ofrecen. El aire acondicionado sirve muy bien, enfría bastante. Hay kayaks y paddle boards para usar gratuitos.

Muy bonito y acogeedor hotel, lo recomiendo mucho. Tiene Todo en UN Lugar tan pequeno y hermoso, su restaurante y su bar super exelente. El Mueller con SUS columpios y su hamaka sobre la Laguna es genial, mesas para sentarse y mirar la Laguna y lo que mas me gusto que los kayaks son gratis.Muy limpias las villas. Muy super lindos y amables todo el personal del hotel. Muy bonitos jardines de dia y de Noche.

Breakfast included is just coffee and toasts plus papaya in case you like it… anything else has a cost. Location is perfect in the lake in front of a nice island. Having kayaks is a plus!!!

Increíble servicio de todo el personal, en especial de Esmeralda, la cual, fue muy amable al contestar nuestras dudas y nos recomendó lugares para conocer. Fuimos en viaje de pareja y todo fue perfecto. Las habitaciones son bonitas y prácticas, la estancia incluye el desayuno básico y tiene diferentes opciones a agregar con costo extra. Al igual, están incluidos los kayaks y las tablas paddle, lo cual es perfecto porque puedes realizar las actividades en la laguna a tu propio ritmo. Las tomamos para ir a ver el amanecer por nuestra cuenta y fue increíble, está muy bien ubicado, así que fue fácil encontrar el punto perfecto para disfrutarlo sin inconvenientes, justo frente al puerto del hotel hay un punto bajo donde tocas el suelo sin problemas, fue perfecto para pasar el rato y tomar fotos! Si desean tours pueden preguntar en recepción las opciones hacer las actividades con un guía. En resumen, recomiendo ampliamente hospedarse aquí!

Muy bueno porque está junto a la laguna, tiene un muelle alto con camastros y columpios y hamacas en la laguna, además de que tienen sin costo el uso de pádel y de kayak, las habitaciones son pequeñas pero tienen baño propio y hacen limpieza diaria. Además incluye desayuno continental.

No hay restaurante, únicamente snaks y para adultos mayores no hay facilidad facilidades para entrar a la laguna

Clairement nous payons la localisation plus que le prestige du logement. Beaucoup d'humidité fait qu'il y a une odeur constante nauséabonde dans l'habitation. Les meubles et la robinetterie de la salle de bain sont en très mauvais état. Le voilage blanc qui cache le toit en paille est très sale et est pleins d'animaux et insectes morts et desséchés. Nous avons dû aller à la réception à 22h parce qu'un cafard avait fait irruption dans notre chambre, en passant par le toit. Heureusement le réceptionniste était vraiment très gentil et est venu nous aider. Contrairement à la plus part du personnel qui était très froid et peu souriant, et agissait avec nous comme des robots. Je déplore aussi le manque d'un restaurant le soir... Pour le prix d'une nuit (190$ CAD), nous attendions un peu plus. Nous avons fait des hôtels bien moins chers avec beaucoup plus de prestations.

This hotel is beautiful. Full of beautiful plants. And the rooms are simple but very clean. The view from the lake is amazing. They do have food and a bar so really no reason to leave the property. There are several restaurants within walking distance if you'd like to try something else. There is also, an amazing view at night!

Le hace falta limpieza, llegamos y dos veces salieron cucarachas, 1 día no hubo snack, no cuenta. Con restaurante los camastros están en malas condiciones, lo único bueno es la laguna pero muy mal el hotel

L'environnement est vraiment agréable mais la cabane est bas de gamme, dans la salle de bain, le plafond est prêt à s'écrouler, et il n'y a aucune isolation, nous entendons les gens marcher. Nous avions une cabane familiale et la propreté est douteuse, nous avons du demander des draps, tachés (de taches propres j'imagine! ). Le petit déjeuner très moyen, composé de café et pain de mie. Pour manger autre chose, il faut payer.

wunderschöner Ort und mehr oder weniger gepflegt, das Frühstück ist praktisch nicht vorhanden, ein amerikanischer Kaffee von schlechter Qualität und ein Teller Obst und zwei Toasts mit Marmelade, wenn Sie Eier möchten, müssen Sie separat bezahlen, aber es hängt davon ab, ob der Koch in der Unterkunft ankommt Morgen oder nein. Sie sollten die Liegestühle reinigen. und ausgezeichnetes Paddeln und Kajakfahren.

We enjoyed our stay at this lush property on Bacalar Lagoon. The individual “cabins” and plantings were well maintained, and felt private and unique. The staff was friendly. We walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

The room was ok but coolers and alcohol were not allowed in the room. We had no hot water for two days. There are no coffee makers in the room and had to wait til 9 am for coffee and breakfast. Continental breakfast was a bowl of fruit and some granola and toast—everyday. There were no hooks or places to hang wet towels or clothes. 4 clothes hangers for three people. MY DEPOSIT WAS NOT RECEIVED OR RETURNED!.

Nuestra estancia en Bluebird fue hermosa, las habitaciones son pequeñas pero estando en un lugar como bacalar no necesitas mas porque apenas y pasas tie.po dentro de la habitacion, el staff fue suuuper amable! Y el desayuno que incluyen es muy bueno, ademas puedes pedir otros platillos por un costo extra, bastante razonable, los otros huespedes heran tranquilos y amigables, creo que mi familia y yo eramos los mas ruidosos por ir con niñas pequeñas que estaban extremadamente emocionadas. Lo mejor de todo fue el area comun junto a la laguna, hermosa y tranquila que cuenta con kayaks y paddleboards para darte unos buenos paseos por la laguna. 10/10!!

Stayed here for just one night on our way from Chetumal to Tulum, had a great time. We arrived earlier than check in and they were happy for us to use the facilities while our room was prepared. It’s an absolutely beautiful spot, with lush greenery right through the cabins, then direct access to the beautiful lagoon. The free kayaks were fun, we took some around to a nice swimming spot. Staff were super friendly and helpful, helping us change money and call taxis when we needed it. Overall, loved our short stay.

Very friendly staff, we arrived very late for check-in and they literally were waiting for us! They always very attentive and ready to help. Place very quiet, lots of plants and tranquility.

Hôtel magnifique avec un personnel qui est au top !!! L endroit est calme et paisible et l accès au lagon est parfait. Merci encore au personnele de l hotel. Cependant nous avons eu un soucis avec notre prépaiement et comme d habitude, impossible de joindre le service hotels.com.

Todo bien, sin embargo me hicieron un cobro anticipado por expedia y al llegar me cobraron como si no hubiera pagado ningun anticipo, aguas con eso.

Primero pondré las cosas positivas, es un lugar para descansar y olvidarte del estrés del trabajo , pues despertar en medio de la laguna es increíble y un lugar que no lo tienes al abrir tus ojos en cualquier parte del mundo, la cabaña bonita y acogedora. No necesitas más de dos días para conocer . En lo que respecta al servicio , es regular ya que el desayuno continental empieza a las 9 am y normalmente a esa hora ya quieres empezar las actividades y no hay flexibilidad para tomar un café y en las habitaciones tampoco existe cafetera , no te permiten entrar con bebidas y alimentos pero la venta de bebidas es a la 1 pm y entonces no puedes tomar nada antes de esa hora, en cuanto a la recepción creo que deberían de ser mas amables , la chica que te atiende es jetona , pero eso no impide que te la pases a gusto , solo que eso deben tener en cuenta los horarios de desayuno y bebidas. También es muy importante que no se les olvide por nada REPELENTE DE MOSCOS , pues te devoran y como estas lleno de vegetación , es indispensable y mantener la puerta cerrada de tu cabaña y más cuando llueve aunque es primavera , pero entre ciclones , huracanes no te salvas de los moscos . En la cabaña Garza donde estuvimos, el WC carece de buen desagüe y por lo tanto parecía que estaba tapado y no se llenaba el tanque de agua y al parecer había termitas , nosotros tuvimos que poner un incienso para que se alejaran un poco , pero con todo y los inconvenientes fueron unos días fabulosos .

Burn lugar, excelente ubic

Hermoso lugar con acceso a la Laguna, muy tranquilo, muy bonitas cabañas, personal amable, check in rápido, cayaks incluidos y en buen estado ., es un lugar ideal para relajarte en pareja. Muy romántico. Excelente todo ampliamente recomendado. El centro a 5 min en auto.

Es la opción a elegir si buscas relajarte y tener todo accesible, esta en una zona de la laguna perfecta para nadar y al tener los kayak y paddel board puedes distraerte un buen rato, tienen restaurante y barra los cuales no estan en servicio los lunes. La ropa de cama de buena calidad y habitación limpia con colchon comodo. Lo que sí se debe considerar es que no hay tiendas cercas o lugares para ir a comer (solo 1 lugar a 500mts) ya que esta alejado del centro qie es donde esta todo, restaurantes, parque, balneareo etc perfecta para nadar y cerca de in cenote

Nos encantó el hotel tiene una vista a la laguna muy bonita

Echoing the comments of everyone else. This place is super nice! The ONLY downside is that it can get a bit boring as there are no immediate activity available other than the water stuff (of course). Defiantly a very relaxing place in a beautiful setting. Also I will say that this place would be perfect as an all-inclusive as there are not many dining options within walking distance (although plenty within driving distance).

Relación costo servicio aceptable, el uso del kayac recompensa el precio de la habitación, desayuno es solo café y pan tostado más poquitito de fruta más que desayuno le llamaría café

Très joli petite cabane, au bord de la lagune, avec 2 pontons et prêt de kayak. Tout etait parfait, seul un petit bemol pour le petit-déjeuner qui est assez sommaire : pain, beurre, confiture, fruits, café (pas de thé ni de jus de fruit et si vous voulez des oeufs, c'est en supplément, mais très bon ;-)
