Perianth Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels

Room was pretty large, style industrial. Terrace facing the Akropolis was very nice although the noise from surrounding bars made it hard to enjoy at evening. We heard some of that noise also during night all the way to fifth floor. Lobby is under a vast renevation and didn’t match the pictures at all. Service was kind and helpful e.g. we had some pastries waiting for us on arrival and the breakfast served to the room was really good. Taxis are not able to drive you quite there so be aware if carring a lot of luggage.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen. Da es in der Fussgängerzone liegt, können Taxis nicht bis zum Eingang vorfahren. Hotelangestellte kümmern sich aber um den Transport des Gepäcks vom Taxi zum Hotel. Die Zimmer sind gross, sauber und verfügen alle über einen Balkon.

Nice hotel centrally located within the trendy Athens area of Plaka. Town of restaurants and bars nearby. Good size modern rooms. No direct access to drop off by car. Need to walk like 200 feet from the road

The corner restuarant is closed for renovations. When it is opened this will be a fantastic hotel in a fantastic area.

Wirklich schönes Hotel mit tollem Service in bester Lage mitten in der Stadt. Wenn man überhaupt etwas zu bemängeln hätte wäre das sehr etwas zu kleine Fitnesssraum und die Tatsache, dass der Fernseher in unserem Zimmer defekt war und nur durch einen „Trick“ zum Laufen gebracht werden konnte. Diesem hat das Personal uns aber innerhalb von Minuten gezeigt. Tolle Lage und trotz lauter Umgebung bei geschlossenen Fenstern super ruhig. Klimaanlage sehr leise und ohne Probleme.

We thought the hotel was very nice, and staff was excellent.We chose this hotel because the photos make it appear to have a beautiful rooftop restaurant/bar and a pool. IT DOES NOT. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, although there are many nearby restaurants and bars. The rooftop pictures are of a very pricey penthouse. Unfortunately the hotel is in a very noisy area, so bring your ear plugs!

We loved this hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating including booking us a transfer to the airport in the middle of the night when we found out our ferry was canceled. The hotel is located in the heart of a neighborhood with trendy restaurants and bars. For exercisers- just be aware there is no fitness center on property but they do provide access to a gym a short distance away and there is a 25 euro fee. I recommend this hotel highly!

Our stay was pretty amazing! We had a lovely breakfast each morning and our view was awesome! The staff was top notch and extremely accommodating! I only wanted to relax by the pool one day and there was only a private pool in one of the rooms that was already reserved. The location was perfect for walking around and seeing just about anything you wanted to.. truly wonderful, relaxing vacation!

The front desk staff are very friendly and efficient. There is no lobby to speak of. The elevator is way too small for two passengers with luggage. The rooms do not have USB chargers or converters for 220 to 110 power. There is no TV channel guide and only 2 English channels. The hotel is centrally located for restaurants and night life. There is no place for a cab to park to unload luggage. We had to park a street over and roll luggage through outdoor restaurant seating.

Lovely room; superb, very generous breakfast with lots of options, wonderful staff who offered personal service--even opened the exercise room early so I could exercise. Close to all of Athens' sites

Great location but overpriced. Photos of suites are misleading, in my opinion. Room was showing its age with scuff marks on the furniture and discoloured grouting at base of shower. Advertised mini-bar was an unstocked cooling drawer. Coffee pods and milk not replaced after first day. Staff were very friendly.

This is not a five star hotel and definitely not a five star experience. I’ve stayed in over 200 rooms via hotels.com and this is the first negative review I’ve ever left. From the minute you step in it’s evident and obvious they have scrimped on cost and tried to disguise a sub par experience with “design” At reception, a random mop is left by the corner, not enough room to fit more than one person in the lifts, or manoeuvre luggage through the tight halls. The staff are monosyllabic and everything is a straight “yes” or “no”. No info is given other than “we need your credit card. Now” And the rooms - think 70s borstal or soviet prison design. Cold concrete floors, drab faded walls, the whiff of cigar smoke, dead mosquitos on the walls. Prison ration toilet paper and towels. Tap water which tastes chlorinated disguised as “purified water”. A “free minibar” has one bottle of generic cola. There are marks all over the marble surfaces, the metal doors have rusted, the shower floor is covered in odd brown puddles. Now the location - imagine living on the busiest crossroads in central London and amplify that by 10. There are bells, screaming, screeching, deafened club music, car horns and shouts until around 4am. On Sunday till 2am. We complained to the desk staff. A monosyllabic response - “the music. It shuts at 11.30. We have an idea! Try earplugs”. All of this for £900 for 2 nights! Do NOT stay here. It’s a 2 star experience.

We had a wonderful stay! We checked in around 3:30pm, but since the room wasn't quite ready, we were allowed a complimentary drink from their restaurant. Everyone was very courteous and friendly. The room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We really liked the spacious shower and the strong water pressure. The location of the hotel is great as well, very centrally located and near lots of restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was also very tasty with a wide selection of food. The only thing is that it does get a little loud on the street below, but it wasn't that bad - we were located on the second floor. I would definitely stay here again!

The location of this property is perfect - walking distance to a variety of restaurants and 20 minutes from the Acropolis. The hotel is very clean, the staff are lovely, and the breakfast is excellent. The only thing to be aware of is that it’s quite noisy late at night on the weekends because of the central location. We would stay here again and recommend this hotel to others!

Room was large, clean and nicely appointed. Staff was very attentive. Bathroom and shower were great. Location was perfect.

The staff was incredible!! We lived how helpful they were and how willing they were to answer questions and help us call for reservation, taxi ride, etc. The bathroom was not great. There was lots of hair on the wall which grossed us out and made us wonder if things were ever cleaned. Some noise from the neighboring restaurants but wasn't too bad. Like the don't use plastic bottles for water for the environment but wished that the water tasted better.

A charming hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the market and shopping centers, and yet quiet. Large and very clean rooms. The hotel staff is very polite and helpful and helpful in every matter. Rich and delicious breakfast. The hotel is highly recommended.

Wow! this property is absolutely stunning. We stayed in a suite with direct views of the Acropolis, and photos truly don’t capture how incredible it is in person. I would come back to Athens just to stay here again. The hotel’s design is beautifully curated, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds are exceptional, and the service was outstanding. Breakfast was another highlight. Fresh, delicious, and with plenty of variety. The location is unbeatable, especially if you’re in Athens for just a few nights, as it’s very central and convenient. A couple of things to note: you will hear the nearby church bells in the morning (which can actually feel quite charming), and there’s some noise from the plaza, though the soundproofing is excellent. I’d suggest bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, this is a 10/10 stay that I’d recommend even to my most particular travel friends. I’d love to return...next time without my 2-year-old in tow!

If you are staying on the first floor facing the Main Street, there will be lots of noise from the restaurants and bars. Windows were not double paned or noise proof also bring ear plugs if you sleep with them because you’re gonna need them. My friends on higher floors were not bothered with the nightlife noise. Unfortunately I was unlucky and ended up staying at a time over the weekend where there were no other rooms in my booked category available to switch to so this really impacted my experience and overshadowed everything else.

Le design de l'Hôtel est très soigné. Cependant, la commodité, l'habitabilité, des chambres est très variable. Celle qui m'a été attribuée cette fois-ci était sombre. Il y avait une porte vers l'extérieur derrière un placard et l'autre fenêtre donnait sur le balcon partagé avec la chambre voisine. Je ne crois pas que je retournerai à cet hôtel.

The staff was so helpful! We arrived early from our cruise ship and they gratefully checked us in right away so we could settle in before exploring the Acropolis. The room was clean and cool and the bed comfortable. Only thing to be aware of is the street noise is quite loud if you’re on the 1st floor but earplugs took care of that.

Overall, the hotel was great. Staff, room, cleanliness, breakfast excellent! BUT - this hotel is surrounded with bars and restaurants. So if you are looking for a good night’s sleep, this is not the place to stay. On Friday night, it felt like we were sleeping in a nightclub. Music blasting, ppl screaming, laughing, partying. No issue with ppl having fun. But even I with ear plugs, we could hear it all until 3:30AM. So beware!! You have been warned.

Large rooms for European hotels

Our stay was short - one night - but the hotel was a delight with a view of the Acropolis. Some guests had complained about noise but on the fourth floor it was absolutely silent on a Saturday. It has a wonderful location with a two minute walk to a lively square - out the front door and turn left then right and you're in the middle of eating and night life. We ate at Mamoe's - out the door, turn right and 50 feet later you're there. Large cheap platers - lamb shanks (3 1/2), spicy platters, and a huge helping of french fries cost $33.00. The hotel breakfast was great and the hotel is located in a easily walkable area. A great stay and we would book it again. Don and Abbie Treichler

Perianth Hotel – Athens Overall: Perianth Hotel is in the perfect location — close to everything you need in Athens. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but the quality and experience make it worth it. Room: We stayed in Room 405, which had a good size and a very nice bathroom. Cleanliness was excellent, and the king bed was extremely comfortable. The side view still offered a glimpse of the Acropolis, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast: The food is fresh and high quality. Orange juice is freshly squeezed, and the coffee is excellent. However, the eggs took too long to arrive — by the time they came, we were almost done with breakfast. A bit more variety in the bread selection would be appreciated, although the croissant was outstanding. The breakfast waitress could improve her attitude; she seemed upset most of the time and didn’t smile much. Service: Service was outstanding. Any issues we had were resolved immediately. The staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. Conclusion: We will definitely come back and recommend Perianth Hotel 100%. It’s a fantastic place to stay in Athens.

The service from staff was the best we saw in our 6 weeks of traveling in Europe. Rooms were large and well presented, we had a corner balcony. Plenty of options for breakfast

The hotel was located very well in Athens. It was walking distance to everything. Unfortunately the reception desk the people were very rude and not very kind. They were always seeming very aggravated and overworked. They were not helpful at all and made her stay very uncomfortable. We booked a room that was over $600 a night and they put us on the first floor in a suite overlooking all of the restaurants and bars. We never got any sleep. Don’t book this hotel if that’s what you want it was terrible. The people in the breakfast room very kind and very nice and breakfast was very good.

The staff was top-notch even before our arrival, as they answered several questions to accommodate our health related needs. Once there, they were extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices.

The room and the property was very clean and beautiful, but by far what made our stay so enjoyable was the staff. They were so extremely nice and helpful. Always went above and beyond and their attention to detail is amazing. Breakfast that was included was an added bonus... To top that off, we had a 5am taxi ride to the airport (which they helped arrange), but they had a to-go breakfast prepared and handed to us as we left. We will definitely stay here again next time we're in Athens.

Our time at The Perianth was superlative. The staff at the front desk and in the eating facilities were exceptional. We were always greeted in a friendly manner and every question was answered. The front desk staff helped us with several local phone calls and also provided directions and suggestions that were really great. It is centrally located in the center of Athens with quick access to eating, entertainment, and culture. We would stay at The Perianth again without any hesitation.

Perianth hotel is perfect in almost every way. The location is awesome with Acropolis, Roman agora, the ancient agora, etc. all within walking distance. Being in the heart of the bar scene and night life, the area is filled with people late into the night. It’s easy to find good restaurants in this area, and shopping is also accessible with Monastiraki just minutes away. We really enjoyed this orderly chaos when it was crowded but never unsafe. The hotel air quality was really good considering the location. The sound proofing is able to keep all the chatting and music outside to a humming background noise. The staff is super polite and the breakfast is great. This would be our too choice if we do come back again. Our room had a nice view of the Acropolis, and the patio provided a nice area to relax and enjoy the sunset. The only downside is that the rooftop terrace has been converted to a penthouse and the restaurant/bar is closed for renovations.
