Excellent small hotel removed from the regular tourist bustle of Bintan. Complimentary and seamless pickup from the ferry (one hour ferry ride from Singapore) makes getting to this small slice of paradise easy. Good food, nice rooms. Great pool and pool bar. Sea is nice and low tide reveals a super cool sandbar. Only thing that could be improved are the bicycles: nearly all of them are rusty and broken. Time for new ones!!!

The resort is very nice and on the ocean. The staff is helpful and friendly. We had a villa with its own plunge pool but it was a very steep set of stairs to go down and up. Tough on anyone with mobility issues. Food was good. Some general notes: the place is very remote so other than resort arranged tours, you won’t be getting out. That means all meals on premises. The various structures are far enough that the resort offers buggy (golf cart) rides. Walking is fine unless it’s raining, then the paths flood and become very slippery. At the time of our stay, there was construction which went on during the day and you can hear a piercing drilling sound. Since we were out more than in, we didn’t say anything. It’s probably one of the nicest resorts on the island and there’s plans to build on another nearby island. If you go to Bintan and just want to relax at a resort, this is a good choice.

Service staff was very accommodating and friendly, food was tasty, and the beach views were great. Lots of amenities that are easy to book and fairly priced. The sea view suite was beautiful, larger than it appeared in the photos, and the private pool and couch next to the window was perfect. The room provided mosquito coils, bottled water, an umbrella, and bikes to get around. Definitely wake up early at low tide to walk around the beach and see all the sea life!

Though it is quite a journey from the ferry terminal and any other store, it was a great, quiet place to unwind and just enjoy a day reading, in the sun, or just exploring the facilities and amenities. Staff were warm and quick to attend to our needs. Bicycles were free to use, and buggies were just a call away to transport you anywhere within the resort. Honestly, my friend and I felt very pampered. Furthermore, there were numerous activities you can participate in provided by the resort. But I just enjoyed reading on the windy patio in my room and cycling in the mornings and evenings. ;) There also were a few little touches (free transport to and from the resort with cookies and water, welcome drinks, cool towels, farewell kuehs delivered to your room…) that really warmed the cockles of our hearts.

The property offers ultimate privacy, i.e. it is far from everywhere else… it took us abt 70 mins from the jetty, but there are plenty of activities available on-site. Unfortunately during the few days we were there, all water activities were not available due to low-tide shoreline. So we spent our time cycling, table tennis, and mahjong! The compound was well maintained. Food wise, the Rica-rica restaurant offered very delicious beef rendang. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Overall good experience, worth the price paid.

The room was beautiful and it was spotless. The staff were super-friendly but there seemed to be a lot of new trainees making small mistakes. We picked a very quiet week with very few other guests, often we were the only ones in the dining room. There were great meals and ok meals.

Virkelig et skønt sted med det sødeste personale, lækker mad, flotte omgivelser. Alt er 100% perfekt. Spa og deres massage kan varmt anbefales. Housekeeping holder alt meget rent og pænt og kommer med ekstra vand og snacks i løbet af dagen. Der er flere restauranter på resortet og alt vi fik serveret var utroligt lækkert. Morgenmaden er kæmpe buffet, men du kan også få omelet, pandekager, frisk frugt, supper, ja, alt man kan drømme om. Der arrangeres ture, og vi var på sejltur i mangrove floden. Gratis pick-up fra færgen t/r. Kan varmt anbefale dette sted.

We used the hotel for our vacation and it was very comfortable as everything was completed in the hotel's facilities. If you want to buy souvenirs, you have to go outside the hotel. This time we enjoyed just the inside of the hotel and were greatly satisfied. It is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

We had a nice stay during the Chinese New Year weekend. The resort is one hour drive from the ferry so good for a total getaway but not if you're looking to do other things around Bintan. Although breakfast was busy with many families the resort is well laid out so we didn't feel it was crowded at any other time. The villa was lovely and the bikes a lovely touch to get around. We had two lovely meals at Rica Rica and two wonderful spa treatments. The service was slightly haphazard, we had to chase twice to get our villa serviced and then they didn't give us handtowels. But when the service was good, it was very very good. Overall very happy and would recommend.

It’s clean and quiet and comfy. You got everything you need for a 3day trip. It’s family friendly although we didn’t get the chance to visit the kid’s club or the farm. All staff here were very friendly and helpful. My 8yr old daughter didn’t want to leave! Will definitely go again!

Im Restaurant und in der Bar sind die Angestellten sehr bemüht und freundlich. Man fühlt sich als Gast immer sehr willkommen. Für den Zimmerservice im Apartment kann man das nicht sagen. Weder wurden leere Shampoos nachgefüllt, noch wurde nicht mal alle zwei bis drei Tage der Boden gewischt. Ein Tuch lag während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts auf dem Nachttisch und wurde einfach nicht weggeräumt.
Im Restaurant und in der Bar sind die Angestellten sehr bemüht und freundlich. Man fühlt sich als Gast immer sehr willkommen. Für den Zimmerservice im Apartment kann man das nicht sagen. The resort was over an hour from the ferry terminal so that was a negative factor for us when considering door-to-door travel. The staff were really fantastic, they definitely made the trip a pleasant experience and did everything to make us welcome and any support we needed. If the staff were not so amazing we would have been disappointed. The breakfast was great. The in-room dining food was ok, chips were often cold and not enjoyable, there was a limited selection of food, good for only 3-4 days. The rooms were of an ok standard, the cleanliness was excellent, and the housekeeping was great too. And the water boys, very fast. The kids rope course was closed, not advised in advance. The ATV and water sports staff were amazing too. Based on what we spent and the travel time though, in hindsight, I would have chosen a place in Phuket, close to restaurants and within 20 minutes of the airport. More variety and similar quality.

Third stay and always a very relaxing stay. Friendly staff always smiling and willing to help. Beautiful room and strongly recommend getting the pool villa. Though its not fully covered by more trees or bamboo fence, but its still nice to have a relaxing pool facing the beach. Amazing food too at Rica Rica restaurant. Its a must try Indonesian fusion style. Every meal are perfection inlcuding the desserts. Will come back again next year.

Various activities, including walking the farm, off-site tours like the firefly tour wetook. Only disappointment was the Rica Rica dinner (food pretty good, room and service ok). Also, walks to outlying rooms not shaded, probably to protect views. Breakfasts were very good.

The sea view suite was beautiful, larger than it appeared in the photos, and the private pool and couch next to the window was perfect. Had a beach view chalet, absolutely beautiful and a lot vely get away from everything stay. House keeping could be a bit hot hot and miss in that didn't refill toilet paper, tea, coffee etc, no hot water in shower, tv/internet dodgy at best But, in saying all that we adored our villa itself and would stay again simply for the bliss of no interruptions and natural beauty.

We had a nice stay during the Chinese New Year weekend. The resort is one hour drive from the ferry so good for a total getaway but not if you're looking to do other things around Bintan. Although breakfast was busy with many families the resort is well laid out so we didn't feel it was crowded at any other time. The villa was lovely and the bikes a lovely touch to get around. We had two lovely meals at Rica Rica and two wonderful spa treatments. The service was slightly haphazard, we had to chase twice to get our villa serviced and then they didn't give us handtowels. But when the service was good, it was very very good. Overall very happy and would recommend.

We booked this place for our wedding anniversary. The communication from the staff were excellent and they've been checking out on our stay through whatsapp and communicating all the matters promptly. They also sent in a complimentary cake and room decorations during our anniversary. The service is great and food was good too.

The most hospitable and kindest hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. My family has been there twice and on the most recent trip, my toddler son fell sick. The hotel staff were so thoughtful and caring, sending a nurse to our room and accommodating requests for things like thermometers, ice for a fever pack, specially cooked congee etc. I am beyond grateful for their care and we can’t wait to return so we can enjoy the resort again. I also give top marks for their kids club and babysitters, as well as the quality of family friendly activities such as the free sea sport activities. The food at their Indonesian restaurant Rica Rica was consistently delicious - try their beef rending and satays. The Residence is truly a gem in Bintan!

The resort was over an hour from the ferry terminal so that was a negative factor for us when considering door-to-door travel. The staff were really fantastic, they definitely made the trip a pleasant experience and did everything to make us welcome and any support we needed. If the staff were not so amazing we would have been disappointed. The breakfast was great. The in-room dining food was ok, chips were often cold and not enjoyable, there was a limited selection of food, good for only 3-4 days. The rooms were of an ok standard, the cleanliness was excellent, and the housekeeping was great too. And the water boys, very fast. The kids rope course was closed, not advised in advance. The ATV and water sports staff were amazing too. Based on what we spent and the travel time though, in hindsight, I would have chosen a place in Phuket, close to restaurants and within 20 minutes of the airport. More variety and similar quality.

I don't think the activities are many for big families with really active kids and adults. Lastly, the beach isn't great at all. I guess Bintan isn't really known for its pristine beaches, but the one at this resort is muddy and almost unsightly. Maybe it's just the monsoon season. Also, it faces east so no picturesque sunset beach photos (not a problem for me).

Excellent small hotel removed from the regular tourist bustle of Bintan. Complimentary and seamless pickup from the ferry (one hour ferry ride from Singapore) makes getting to this small slice of paradise easy. Good food, nice rooms. Great pool and pool bar. Sea is nice and low tide reveals a super cool sandbar. Only thing that could be improved are the bicycles: nearly all of them are rusty and broken. Time for new ones!!!

The property offers ultimate privacy, i.e. it is far from everywhere else… it took us abt 70 mins from the jetty, but there are plenty of activities available on-site. Unfortunately during the few days we were there, all water activities were not available due to low-tide shoreline. So we spent our time cycling, table tennis, and mahjong! The compound was well maintained. Food wise, the Rica-rica restaurant offered very delicious beef rendang. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Overall good experience, worth the price paid.

The staff at the resort was excellent! Wonderful service and they would always greet us with a smile. The room was fantastic as well though dining was quite expensive. The breakfast spread was decent and the resort did make efforts to change some dishes every day. Kudos to the staff at the residence! We would love to go back again.

Third stay and always a very relaxing stay. Friendly staff always smiling and willing to help. Beautiful room and strongly recommend getting the pool villa. Though its not fully covered by more trees or bamboo fence, but its still nice to have a relaxing pool facing the beach. Amazing food too at Rica Rica restaurant. Its a must try Indonesian fusion style. Every meal are perfection inlcuding the desserts. Will come back again next year.

We had a wonderful 5 nights. The staff were excellent. Food was amazing. Enjoyed the cooking class with Dimas, who was very helpful. The facilities and rooms were first rate. It is a bit remote, but perfect for a relaxing holiday and the transfers from ferry were very comfortable.

We truly enjoyed our stay here at The Residence. This is a perfect getaway where all the staffs are lovely and friendly. Our villa stay is very comfortable, we cycled to everywhere within the premises. We also enjoyed the private dinner at the beach area. There is one good advise, the residence is quite a distance from the ferry terminal, the ride is about one hour and 20 mins. So do make your ferry schedule earlier. Emerald class is highly recommended for ferry rides.
