Home2 Suites by Hilton Birmingham Colonnade

Check in was very fast and efficient. The front desk clerk was very nice and informative. The 2nd night my electronic door sensor burnt up and i was unable to get into my room. Both front desk clerks called in the maintenance person who lived 1.5 hours away. He was there with in an hour. He worked on it for a few hours and fixed the issue. I truly appreciated the prompt service and attention to this issue. While locked out they made everything very comfortable.

The lobby had an overpowering smell of pesticides, and the rooms were not so clean. The bathroom was in poor condition: the bathtub drain was clogged, the toilet was scratched, and the toiler flush didn’t work properly. The worst part, however, was the breakfast. By 8 AM, they were literally out of everything. There was no milk, omelet, etc., This was by far the worst stay I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed at Home2Suites in other locations before and had good experiences, which is why I recommended this hotel to my friends and brought a team with me. Unfortunately, this stay was a huge disappointment, and I will never recommend it to anyone again.

We had a great stay! The staff was very patient considering there were a million teenage baseball players and their families at the hotel! Great experience! Rooms were clean and spacious! Only complaint we have is that the washer had black mold which it stained all over our white baseball pants!!! And $8 pet load is pretty pricey for stained pants! This is no reflection on the staff, it’s a reflection on maintenance of the washers! Front load washer gaskets have to be cleaned regularly to prevent mold and that isn’t occurring!

They had a pipe burst..... was not professionally cleaned up. Half of our room is soaked. had go get extra towel just to stat on first floor. ( we had injured fur baby with us) We could not change rooms because THATS all they had. (bul**hit) the parking lot at 4am was almost empty. NEVER STAY THERE.... And just found out we paid twice.

We were visiting family at UAB hospital and found this hotel last minute. We arrived late, after 10pm, and the front desk was super courteous and kind. Our room was clean without even any stray stuff in the corners of the bathroom, as can often be found. The beds were comfy and room amenities perfect. The breakfast in the morning was top notch. It was maybe 15-20 minutes to the hospital depending on traffic, and we felt very safe in the area. It's a beautiful area around the hotel. There was ample parking, even on a weekend night, with easy access to the hotel. My only negatives: Our neighbors were loud and woke me up the 2nd night, which was more about the neighbors and less about the hotel, since for the most part the hotel was quiet and pretty well sound-proofed as hotels go. Most of the staff was incredible, but there were one or two staff members we came across that clearly did not want to be there or do their job. They weren't outright 'rude', just obviously were trying to avoid being asked anything or bothered. I was going to sit by the pool, which looked nice, but wasn't able to access it for some reason. My key card worked everywhere else but the pool. There are two washers and dryers on site for personal use. It cost a bit more than I was expecting, and of course to buy laundry detergent or anything in the convenience area was excessively priced. All in all, we would stay here again and recommend this hotel.

The sheets smelled like heavy perfume and one of the pillows smelled like old drool.The shower had pink mildew in the corners of the doors.the couch and the lamp shade had stains. There was glass in two parking spots of the parking lot. I’ve stayed at Home2 facilities before and they’ve NEVER been like this. The lady at check in was really nice but went back to the front desk twice to see if I could get my bed linens changed but there was never any one at the front desk. I like Home2 facilities but I was truly disappointed.

The rooms are large enough for my family of six. The pool looked nice but closed at 10pm even on the weekends. We had to ask for sheets and pillows for the pullout sofa, then towels because they only gave us 3. The breakfast options were terrible, No meats, coffee, yogurts, or fruits. Basically you had an option of cereal. But the beds were comfortable and it was close to shopping and dining.

I felt I was overcharged for my stay water overpriced parking was terrible food was mediocre

There was an issue with my room. Instead of waiting until I reached the property, she called me to discuss my options. She also gave me a good restaurant recommendation. The property had a water leak that day. I told her I will return for my receipt. However, to avoid me walking on the wet floor, she walked the receipt out to my car!! I felt special!!

Filthy. Old. Outdated. Breakfast was horrible. But the staff..AMAZING! Rue and Peyton went above and beyond and tried their best to accommodate. But they cant do but so much with what theyre given. Do NOT BOOK HERE. SOFA BED IN KING 1 BR suite was DISGUSTING-had soooo much crumbs, a pacifier and blood stains all over the mattress, A/C didnt work in room. Marks all over the walls in hallways and room. Showers were sooooo dark and dirty. So much grime in there. No one is cleaning and upkeeping this hotel! Period. This should not be a Hilton. It should be a best western or motel 8.

Shower didn’t work. No maintenance on property to fix on weekends. It wasn’t low pressure it was dripping. No possible way to take a shower. Also stain on sheet. Had to get new one. Also got washcloths with mascara stains. Will not be returning.

There was pee around the toilet on the walls, there were cochroaches, the bill was higher than what was stated on hotels.com, dark stains on the couch, when we opened the sofa bed it was completely gross - hair, stains, etc. it was awful. the curtain didn't work to close. my husband has the pics - apologies. but worst trip ever

Good location in close proximity to a shopping center. Room was clean enough but the carpet in my room felt a little dirty. I guess that just comes with the territory of it being a hotel.

Very clean and the staff it was amazing

This was clean and first glance… until we got ready for bed. There was blood splattered all over the comforter. Which was turned so you wouldn’t see it unless pulling everything back. The bathroom had mold all over the shower & sink. It’s funny because as we were checking in another couple was up complaining about their room. But the staff was nice and sorry.

We stayed in Room 400 and were disappointed with several aspects of our experience. The carpet was extremely dirty, to the point that we had to keep our shoes on at all times. Additionally, the curtain or room-darkening blind was not functional. We reported this issue to the front desk upon our arrival, but it was not addressed. We followed up twice more on Saturday morning, yet no action was taken. We were out of the room by 10am Sat & didn’t return until 7pm, so they had plenty of time to fix it. As a result, our youngest son was awake by 6:30 a.m. due to the light entering the room. Furthermore, the breakfast area was not adequately stocked—both the food and juices were depleted in the morning, which was frustrating. Given that we paid over $500 for a two-night stay, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, responsiveness, and guest amenities. We typically stay at Fairfield or Homewood Suites- will not be staying at any Home2Suites again.

The dining area is spacious, staff was very cordial and efficient, The room was clean, spacious, equipped with several amenities for the guests.

The staff was friendly, but the facility was missing some basic items. The shower didn't have shampoo or conditioner. There were no napkins at the breakfast. The TV in the room was damaged on part of the screen.

Nice and roomy, but saw a few ants in the room. Regulating the temperature was a bit tricky.

The staff was wonderful, but expedia only sent them that i had booked one room. I had booked 2 rooms both with 2 queen beds and suite, and paid for both. Expedia sent one room, 1 king bed. The staff went above and beyond to get us another room. Expedia should be refunding the cost difference in rooms. Again, the staff was GREAT

The night clerk that checked me in was fabulous. I am so sorry that I did not get her name to formally brag on her attitude, actions, and professionalism. The room was accommodating and near the hospital where I had a procedure done the following day. My wife act the breakfast and had coffee and both were good.

Staff and customer service were good. The only disappointed with our stay was the complementary breakfast. The food was cold and the choices were limited. There wasn’t even a microwave present to heat the food. The staff member (very kindly) suggested that we take our food to the room and heat it up. Hilton standards were definitely not met. I would highly recommend you discontinue the complimentary breakfast until it can be brought up to par. By discontinuing this substandard offer, your guests can be afforded the opportunity make other decent breakfast arrangements in advance.

Check-in staff was great. Morning staff seemed like they had more important things to do. Stayed at end of first floor, non smoking, but not sure policy enforced. Breakfast was great, room was great, TV during breakfast was set to Non-kid friendly channel with lots of children in area. No staff around to ask for change.
